Just caught this yesterday and wow, wasn't expecting this to be that good.

When most comedies are just actors doing improv in front of a camera and bland visuals, Game Night is one of the few that has a visual style and a script that doesn't feel half-assed. Despite some unnecessary plot twists, this movie is pretty clever and there's some cool camera work going here.

Reminds me sorta like an Edgar Wright film.

Also, cast has great chemistry, Rachel McAdams is bae, and Jesse Plemons kills it.

Definitely a film worth checking out if you like comedies.

I was pleasantly surprised when my bro in law picked it for a movie night for us. Comedy was light but throughout, the soundtrack was cool and I didn't feel it ever got too cheesy. Great recommendation.

I think this was one of the surprise standout films recently and very appreciated wasn't it?

Reviewed really well, did well at the box office.

A good win all around and an awesome flick too.

Got good reviews.
Made a good amount of money under the reign of Black Panther.
Had a thread about it.

Don't put that on us because you were late.

I saw this with the fam recently and was very surprised how much fun it was. Good pick for a family movie night.

the last 10 or 20min almost kills it for me. it goes on longer than it should, but seeing that last baddie kinda makes it worth it.

I whole heartedly loved it. It really does have the manic energy of Clue, but formulated for modern times and sensibilities.
Would love to get it on BluRay, but the disc seemed super bare bones.

How so? It only came out 5 months ago and had a 4x multiplier off its opening weekend. It's also an 83% on rotten tomatoes. I agree it was very funny though and def recommend others check it out.

God, Jesse Plemmons is my favorite part of this whole movie.
He's absolutely hilarious from the word go.

It was a surprisingly good movie, watched it with the Mrs. a little while back and we both had a great time.

This movie got praised highly from a ton of the critics I follow so I expected it to be good going in. Thankfully, it lived up to the praise.

I'd never heard of him and could have sworn that he was related to Matt Damon. The resemblance is crazy. I also watched the movie for free on a plane and really enjoyed it. The twist was pretty obvious but that didn't really hurt the movie overall.

"I thought everyone cried at the end of The Green Mile..."

Plemmons stole the movie. I even love how the cinematography is used as a gag sometimes in conjunction with him, like the slow, creepy push-in's on him during the first half of the movie.

It's directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, a very underrated and underappreciated director/screenwriter duo. They also directed 2015's Vacation, which was about as funny as Game Night.

Also, Rachel McAdams looked the best she's ever looked in the movie. She's 39 right now, so time has obviously been very kind to her.

I just watched it this morning and thought it was great. One of the better comedies of the last few years. I think it's properly appreciated though. It made good money and was well received by both critics and public.

Favorite comedy since the jump in street movies.

Rachel mcadams seriously is one of the all time great baes. The dog and the blood scene made me cringe so hard, gosh I loved it.

One of my favorite bits was the Denzel and drake playing in the background, that was some next level good.

Can't wait for the flash movie from these guys, might be they pivot from comedy to action masterfully like the Russo brothers.

Yeah, it was definitely better than the trailers made it seem. Besides, hard to go wrong with Kyle Chandler and Jesse Plemmons in the same movie.

Was a serious surprise, super fun and playful and yes McAdams crushed her role. I wish she'd get more roles like this.

Was really surprised at how well a lot of the scenes were shot. Loved the board-game style tilt shift they used for a few shots.

It was a real surprise; it knew what it was and it successfully delivered on its premise.

I don't know id say it was a classic or anything, but certainly one of the best comedy movies we've seen in awhile.

Nnnnnnnnope. Movie was fine, but still just as shallow as most american comedies. Not even close to Edgar Wright, wish I couldn't see the difference and enjoy average attempts as much as masterpieces.

Someone here mentioned the Jump Street movies. Exactly my point.

Wait this was good? I saw previews and thought it might be, but still...

And Meth Damon is the highlight? What?

I didn't watch any trailers, just heard that it was good so I checked it out. Turned it off about halfway through and haven't gone back. I dunno, it didn't click with me at all.
I love Bateman, love games, and I just didn't find it very funny. Maybe I need to give it another shot.

I agree that it went on a bit too long but I appreciated it. It was a good comedy in that it entertained me. I laughed more at Deadpool this year but I'd definitely recommend it to people.

Loved it, besides my boardgame buddies I didn't know anyone else personally who even knew this movie existed. Was a fun watch

Oh man, you're in for a treat. And yes, Plemmons is hands down the highlight.

Eh, I can kinda see the Wright comparisons in the sense that Game Night is specifically a homage/parody of David Fincher thrillers, much like how Wright's Hot Fuzz is a homage and parody of cop action films from the 90's and 00's.
