BP 2 and 3 will be two of those slots. Even if they do a third spidey, there are a lot of spots open assuming 3 a year (and that could be bumped to 4 if Marvel wanted to)

2020-2024 is at least 15 movies.

Let's assume Widow and Eternals get made. Those plus BP 2-3, GotG3, Doctor Strange 2, a third Spider-Man, and a fourth Thor would be 8 films. Add in a third Doctor Strange, and a Cap Marvel sequel, and there is still a bunch of question marks.

A dumpster
It's not so much about past films, but rather the subject matter and characters that are rich in story-telling potential. I mean, christ, could the humour-centric MCU ever start a film with a scene from Auschwitz and convey racial undertones as well as X-Men could? The closest they ever got was Killmonger, and he made him into a moustache-twirling clown at the end.
Watch X1 again cause plenty have criticized Singers tonal whiplash in all the movies. Kilmonger is far more of a nuanced antagonist than Magneto was ever in the original 3 X films and let's not get started with the goofy shit they did with him later on. I'm not saying Kilmonger is the greatest written character ever but comparing him to any character in the shitty X films is almost a joke.

The funny thing is that besides Ragnorak all the recent marvel movies have had incredibly relatable antagonist.

It must be nuts trying to plan anything out with the Fox deal looming.

You know the whole time they've had Plan A to continue as normal, but unofficially had Plan B for the Fox Characters and since the deal started you bet those unofficial plans had more depth added to them.

But they can't officially put pen to paper until the deal is finished but I'd expect a pretty quick turn around since they'll just officialise established plans and actually hire writers and what not to flesh them out.

Feige got his start in films by being an executive producer on the X-Men films - he has love for that franchise.

I can't wait for a Thunderbolts movie. General Ross is going to put together his own team and act as their Nick Fury. Zemo and Ghost are locked in. I think Bucky will be on the team since Sebastian Stan has like 4 movies left on his contract plus he's already got history with Zemo. Bringing back Abomination to be the team's muscle would be perfect. Throw in Moonstone who's probably going to show up in Captain Marvel 2 and you've got a very solid and entertaining team.

I feel like this is somehow hinted at in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Maybe I'm wrong but I can see how it gets to that point from that.

It'll be a waste not to have another Waititi-helmed Thor especially after where IW and A4 will leave him.

The time has come for an Agents of Atlas movie.

Jimmy Woo is already canon in unvierse already. C'mon, baby! Prefect tie in with F4 time pieces.

Also, anyone else guess that why Stan Lee the bus driver in infinity war said "never seen a spaceship before?" so nonchalantly was referring to some F4 adventure that he lived through?

Fourth Thor is the interesting one because Hems has said he'll sign an extension since he loves Thor, same with Ruffalo since it's easy to do and he already has enough clout in the indie side.

It's still a crapshoot plus Spidey 3 isn;t locked by Marvel themselves yet but that could change soon.

Out of the original big three in the Avengers, I'd see Hemsworth coming back to do more for sure.

Are there even enough living MCU villains to make this concept work, or would it be a Suicide Squad-style "We introduce a lot of villains you've never heard of but totes exist in this cinematic universe" deal?

At this point, the living ones are:

Abomination
Leader
Justin Hammer
Trevor Slattery
Shocker
Vulture
Mac Gargan
Zemo
Mordo
The Real Mandarin
Batroc the Leaper
Thanos
Space Skull
Grandmaster
Ayesha
Tinkerer

(Have not seen Ant Man and the Wasp yet to comment on that movie's villains)

The cosmic ones wouldn't really work, so it would likely be Zemo, the Spidey villains, and maybe A-Bomb and Batroc.

Oh my god. What if in Far From Home Peter winds up bringing home the symbiote.

Hey Kevin, good job and all but does it take another 20 films before we'll get a second female led superhero film? Just wondering since the MCU chose to give virtual unkowns like Guardians of the Galaxy and Antman TWO movies before giving one to Black Widow or Cap Marvel.

After Guardians being a smash hit, I'd love it if Marvel gave Gunn a few smaller projects. Nextwave would be great, a super campy Agents of Atlas, too. Infinity Watch could be a great concept for a few movies, since he'll be the one to intro Adam Warlock.

It's funny how Disney's big get was buying Lucasfilm. But at this point I'd wager that Marvel is the crown jewel in their acquisitions. They've just been so consistent with their output that they must be making gangbusters just off the merchandising alone.
