My dog had to be put down today. Little dude got cancer a few months ago and it finally got to a point where he was just too weak to even eat. I was working at the radio station so I couldn't be there. My mom took him and was listeninng to me DJ on the way there. Supposedly he wouldn't really respond to anything, but he perked up when he heard my voice over the radio. Shit sucks.
Sorry for your loss :(

Something something NJPW needs to stop letting their wrestlers take dangerous bumps...

I know you are making a joke here but there has to be a medium setting where I'm allowed to want to see some acrobatics without knowing if Hiromu is in a match with somebody he likes they will try to murder each other.

Jesus! ...Did the Mexican Goverment secretly lace the countries produce with steroids! I swear since getting back into Lucha I've noticed that every current 2nd/3rd gen star is 6 ft, or more, and look jacked(baby).

That's fine. I was more shitting on the weirdo guys who are using what happened to Takahashi to shit on NJPW mostly in the name of wanting to exalt the virtue of WWE.

Yeah, that wonderful multi-billion dollar company that's making money hand over fist but won't provide health insurance for their performers they still insist on calling independent contractors. It's been super weird seeing these fucking fanboys point scoring at a time like this, they have no empathy and any concern is borne out of their fanboyism than any real regard for wrestler's well being.

It is crazy how fucking hyped this has me for wresting right now.

Same

Legit dude... I ended up getting something I never imagined I'd get live...

Like not only did I get an unexpected Haku match I got a fucking lengthy Haku and Sons decimation.

The experience of being like 10-20 feet from the stage when the beatdown started and then, because so many had started to leave, being a able to run down to basically 4th row ringside and jump up and stand on a chair and watch all that go down, like literally was able to be up close for the entire thing from stage to ring.... My mind was blown. The chaos. The bell ringing over and over, dudes just coming out only to get fucking smashed... Chase and Yujiro getting betrayed, the Tongan Death Spikes Haku was throwing at the Bucks and Scurll and co, and the Cody face turn only for Haku to just take the chair from Cody with ease and kill him.... and then Haku with his sons triple piledrive Kenny!?.... duuude wrestling was real for 10 minutes.

Legit Haku is top 10 fav dude for me. To have him get to be that dude again before my eyes... priceless.

No one's ever denied that Naito's wildly popular, and anyone who's been paying proper attention can see the role Okada's been playing since overcoming Tanahashi and how much he has done to allow his opponents to shine. It's one of those reigns people are going to look back on and see as an all-time great run, not just for the matches he had, but for the guys he elevated.

Hey D-Bry, who are you fighting in Japan?

Oh, just an old friend of mine who almost blinded me.

Listen to his old ROH theme and how apocalyptic it sounds.

Somebody fucked up somewhere, and someone's getting their shit fucked to this music.

Yep. The concern trolling is idiotic and transparent.

Not cheapening his opponents' work in their matches, but Okada has absolutely done his job making people feel like the next level of star, undoubtedly. Especially in retrospect. At the time people get caught up in the moment and are all concerned about what's next and what it means.

There's something to be said that some people just have to be contrarian. Like, I'm perfectly content to never think about RAW aside from randomly poking fun at you guys for watching it every week despite being clearly miserable. But WWE fans get pissed at the mere mention of a promotion being better than the one they've grown up with. I get the feeling these are the same people who snap if you say America "could be better".

Liv Morgan is still bad but unlike Bliss or Carmella you can actually see some week to week improvement in her wrestling ability since she debuted. You can tell she's actively trying to improve in the ring.

Although I guess you can't blame Bliss and Carmella too much when they're getting rewarded with titles and big pushes anyway.

On the other hand, the what-aboutism by NJPW fans has become increasingly bad over the last few months. WWE does not treat its performers well, this is known. It doesn't provide an excuse on why NJPW could not do a few things better like not have their performers drop each other on their heads.

In the case of Carmella, she has not improved one iota since being called up from NXT. You would think spending two years on the main roster would cause you to improve but nope. Bliss has improved slightly. Carmella's offense is a headlock, a terrible superkick, and some slaps. That's pretty much the extent of her offense.

I'd be more sympathetic if it wasn't a clear botch. Accidents happen, it had very little to do with either promotion's style. A neck may have been broken with a dangerous move while multiple necks have been broken with less dangerous moves in WWE. Even Honma was badly injured with a draped ddt.

Turning what happened to Hiromu into a proxy war is dumb at best and gross at worst.
