Hollywood producers 'plot film based on cave rescue'

The Australian Associated Press (AAP) reports that a US film crew has arrived in the area in the hope of laying the groundwork for a film based on the ongoing cave rescue.

Michael Scott, of independent US production company Pure Flix, told AAP in Chiang Rai: "I see this as a major Hollywood film with A-list stars.

"It's got incredible heart, incredible acts of heroism and bravery. It's just an incredible thing and we think it will inspire millions around the world."

Does Mr Scott think his actions could be seen as insensitive as families wait for the remaining boys to be rescued? It seems not.

"There's going to be other production companies coming in so we have to act pretty quickly," he said.

This is going to be the real life equivalent of Scott's Tots.

Fuck, I'm so glad this actually seems to be coming to a happy end. Everything seemed so incredibly dangerous, I guess they just got very lucky with the heavy rains not showing up yet.

I am a source, I work in news lol. We're in contact with the Reporter on the ground.
No offense to you, I'm sure you're great at what you do, but this is not credible. Literally anyone could say this.

On topic: so glad to see everything is going so well. When I first read about this, I really didn't think it would be possible to pull off the rescue so smoothly. Everyone involved is a major hero in my eyes.

Everything seems to go just as planned. Goes to show that we should trust the decisions of the experts who are actually on site and not from the other side of the world.

There was a shit ton of nightmare fuel on this thread for a while. Not saying that there was no danger involved or that it was just a walk in the park. Far from it. All I am saying is that with all those people and experts involved, I am sure that they factored in everything and made their decisions with safety of children in mind. They wouldnt attempt a diving rescue if it wasnt possible and by possible I mean having actual great rates of success.

All these people should be commended. This story is a beacon of hope for humanity's abilities when there is a common goal.

Please let the coach get out as well. He doesn't deserve to die just because he's an adult any more than the children don't deserve to die. I really hope everyone gets out.

I wouldn't believe me either if I was reporting on this. But this is a developing situation and I'm literally in the ear of the guy in Thailand so it's impossible for me to pull up any kind of source because it's happening right now. Just figured I'd jump in here and let you guys know since it's an active scene. I'm sure other posters have the resources/ time to pull up online articles once it hits mainstream media.

I don't know why we wouldn't believe him. I mean, he's not claiming that life on Mars is confirmed, but that someone in an ongoing rescue operation has been, well, rescued. No reason in my mind to doubt this claim.

What exactly is 'happening right now'?

Report: 11th person brought out

An 11th person has been seen being carried out of the cave, according to Reuters. It appears that those rescued are being kept in the local area for now - a different approach to previous days, when boys were helicoptered out to a hospital in nearby Chiang Rai as they emerged.

I believe you, don't see why anyone would lie about something like that in a moment like this, there's simply no need to.

Good stuff, please keep us updated

Hmm hopefully nothing goes wrong. Just few more left to get out! Kudos to the heroic rescue team.

The outpouring of emotion when the last boy and the coach come out will be overwhelming. Well done to everyone involved. Heroic divers, the coach for keeping the kids safe, the kids for strength in an impossible situation and the community for all the support the've given.

This seems to be going at a pace of one per hour, so this should be done in an hour or two (not including the other divers who are in there, who I expect will leave last).

Thanks, nothing more to report right now. I'm stepping out of the booth and taking a break (it's been a hectic morning). Hopefully they have the 12th kid out before I come back.

Boys asked for bread with chocolate and the answer was yes

Back on Sunday, the first four boys rescued asked from their hospital beds for a popular Thai basil stir-fry, but were told their digestive systems couldn't cope yet and they would have to stick to porridge.

Today the public health minister told reporters that the new arrivals had asked for bread with chocolate, and their request was granted.

Cant beat chocolate lol

Just a reminder that this isn't over when the boys and the coach are out. I won't relax until all the rescuers are out also.

Chocolate is easy to digest and a quick source of instant energy. It also provides some lasting energy, as well.
