They're doing open preorder. All Limited Run Games releases will be open preorders for the foreseeable future. You have two weeks to place an order.
Really? Then LRG have fixed their flaw in my opinion.
I really hope they keep it likes this.

Will definitely preprder physical when it goes up.
Do they take the money directly when i preorder?

Hopefully it finally gets the sales it deserves.

Zeboyd poured everything into this game and it shows.

Finished this game on PC yesterday. Liked it quite a bit.

Combat was interesting, and the relatively fast progress (for an JRPG anyway) meant that there was a constant flow of new abilities or characters to try out, so it never had much time to grow stale. Which again, is not exactly something JRPGs are always good at.
Story was not particularly interesting, but not dragging down the game either (so better than the average JRPG I guess!). Environments and graphics were fine, but I dont have a huge nostalgia thing going on for the style. Overall, enjoyable combat was the star for me.

I am about.....oh, I dunno....9 or 10 hours into the game on PC. Really enjoying it so far. Battle system is a bit weird but it's growing on me. Playing on normal difficulty(the one right above Heroine).

Nice. How many hours is a typical run through? What's your playtime?

Still waiting for LRG to put this up for pre-order. Can't wait to try this one out!

Huh, I somehow missed the announcement. Anyway, I'm definitely in for the Switch version.

Although this summer is really packed for Switch RPGs, which is a blessing and a curse XD

About 20 hours I think, when doing 'all' the side quests etc. (well, at least the ones having steam achievements + a few that seems to have been added later). On Heroine difficulty, which felt fine most of the game, toward the end it became quite easy to set up attacks that completely destroyed everything. Felt like that was very intended though.
I tend to be slow and thorough with games, it surely can be completed a lot faster.

They waited so damn long to do the PS4 and Vita physical release, I wish they'd waited a few more months, or at least announced that it was coming to switch before selling the PS4 and Vita physical copies. I would have preferred this on Switch but I'm not going to buy it again.

They take the money when you preorder. All their switch games are preorder (except for collectors edition). Most PS4/Vita stuff isn't pre-order though (though some is).

Thought I'd let everyone know, I reached out to LRG about swapping my preorder from Vita to Switch, and they replied bluntly that they will not do version swaps.

I've waited till the Vita version came out to play it and I am currently near the end, and the experience has been fantastic. The game manages to hit so many right notes that I hope the Switch version brings the team their deserved success.
In case I have not been clear enough : Buy. This. Game.

I'd say it took me about the same, maybe couple hours more. It's definitely a good sized game considering the price. It's also one of the best pixel graphics 16-bit type RPGs out there. It's a seriously a no-brainer purchase, kind of like Hollow Knight in that respect, as you are getting way more then you would expect for your money.

I'll go ahead and buy it for the 3rd time. It's a fantastic game and I try to bring it up whenever it's appropriate. I wish you guys the best of luck and am looking forward to the Mecha Rx game (if that's still the plan).

I really do need to give this game a shot. Something about the art really turns me off (it looks like the pixel art I used to make back in HS, and I'm not good LOL), but I should know better than to judge a game just by its looks.

In other news, we just got a new A+ review score for the Vita version from Gaming Age. I think they're a Metacritic publication which would mean that we would need just 1 more Vita review to have an official Metacritic score.

Never played it but heard it draws a lot from phantasy star which makes it a must buy. Excited for thebphysical release.

It does, most of all from Phantasy Star IV in my eyes. So it's no surprise that I loved it :)

I would still love to do an actual Sonic Mania-style new Phantasy Star game. Did a tentative inquiry that didn't go anywhere. Maybe if we have a hit game at some point, they'll be open to the idea.

Good news for the Switch crowd! :)

I remember winning(?) a steam key for this game back in the old place. Unfortunately, I never found the time to actually play it (I don't play much on PC anymore). Purchased the game on PS4 instead and I'm enjoying it very much. Trying to finish it before Octopath Traveler arrives.

It's amazing. I played through it on the PS4, Vita, and PC. I plan on buying a physical copy on the Switch even. Need to support Zeboyd games as much as we can. Hopefully they use this game engine for their next RPG.

Well that's disappointing :/.

Has any company allowed people to swap PS4 or Xbox versions of their game for a Switch version? Never heard of that and wouldn't expect it.

***ohhh it's for the preorder, I take it the physical Vita version isn't come out yet? That makes a bit more sense but still expected given that they are probably producing physical orders based on the preorder numbers

I have this on Vita and am only a few hours in but it's quite enjoyable, glad to see it on Switch.

To me it felt more inspired by Chrono Trigger. Phantasy Star IV definitely the second biggest influence that I feel.

The battle system is a whole new beast though. Most refreshing battle system since Bravely Default (by completely different).

Will buy again on Switch.

Will get it if it's reasonably priced in my region. Most games in my eShop are 40-60% more expensive which makes me want to get the games on Steam instead despite me preferring a portable version.

I remember the heartbreaking comments from the dev about how much work was put into it versus how little it sold. It's a good experience, especially if you have some nostalgia for the OG Phantasy Star games. I need to go back and finish it.

Just saw the Switch trailer for the game (basically the same as the older trailer but with the appropriate Switch logos & release date in). Love that Switch snap sound effect at the beginning.

It's absolutely agonizing that you haven't had a major hit yet.

Hopefully that'll change with the Switch release of Cosmic Star Heroine. :)

To-date, our best selling game is the Cthulhu Saves the World + Breath of Death VII bundle with over half a million copies download on Steam, but a lot of those were $1 or bundled.

Oh and to clarify, we've had games do decently, but nothing huge.

Cosmic Star Heroine is up for pre-purchase on the Nintendo eShop, with a 10% pre-purchase discount:
https://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/cosmic-star-heroine-switch

(Also shows up in Coming Soon on the Switch eShop itself; although it *is* discounted it doesn't show the little red -10% tag).

I'm pretty stoked so here's some pics from my phone:

Oh gosh I wanted the physical copy but the game being there ready to preorder in the eShop is so tempting. This is so exciting, it's real!

Do we know anything about the physical copies? Will they release around the same time?

On the one hand, get it digitally is the easiest way to go, and on the other hand it would be great to get a physical copy. Still no new detail about the physical release?

All we know is that LRG said that the physical copy would come out later 2018 or even early 2019.

Ok then, eShop preorder made! I will just double dip if I can.

Last question: are you going to do an AMA around launch on the Switch subreddit? I really think it would help given how naturally transparent you are. Switch folks love that, plus maybe hearing about what the icon will look like (don't underestimate how psycho the Switch community is about icons!).

Does preordering help you any, werezompire ? Or do you get less monies with the discount?

Preordering helps us in that the more preorder sales we rack up, the more likely Nintendo is to promote the game themselves (which leads to even more sales).

Yeah, I'd like to do an AMA around launch. Although, you can already see what the icon looks here:
