The Dragon Prince, created by Aaron Ehasz (Avatar: The Last Airbender) and Justin Richmond, tells the story of "two human princes who forge an unlikely bond with the elfin assassin sent to kill them, embarking on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands," according to a press release from Netflix.

Ehasz and Richmond, along with executive producer Giancarlo Volpe (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), will present a sneak peek and an inside look at San Diego Comic-Con on July 21.

Now, you say Avatar...

Do you also mean Korra?

Cuz I'm torn between 'yay' and 'bleh'.

I loved both Avatar and Korra, so I'm in for this. WIll it also be animated by Korean studio?

The concept sounds a lot less interesting than Avatar but if it's got the same quality of writing, then it could be a pretty good show.

FUCK YES LET'S GO!!!

Action cartoons have been in a drought for a while now. There's Voltron, Trollhunters, and...? This is great.

Pls be good. I'm kind of peeved that the only major action show anywhere is Voltron and even then it doesn't compare to Avatar (maybe even to Korra tbh).

Looks good just based off the description and art. I'll have to see it in motion before saying one way or another whether I'm excited or not.

As soon as you tell me it's coming from the head writer of TLA, you got my attention

He didn't work on Korra, which is probably what Korra was 'missing' from ATLA (Not that I think Korra was bad, it's great, just not as good as ATLA)

Really excited for this.

Pretty hyped. Hope the animation is up to par.

Also... Korra was amazing and people have bad taste and don't deserve this new series if they say otherwise!

Ehasz did work on Futurama. Not sure why Netflix didn't also acknowledge that.

I'm in. Hopefully Ehasz pushes for more female characters like he did in A:TLA.

Hope we'll get to see more after July 21st.

And people are treating Korra like it's the worst show ever created by mankind.

Korra wasn't as great as TLA, but it's a good show overall (minus the first half of Book 2).

Way too many hyperboles.

K, the pedrigree is good, but what kind of animation are we getting?

I will be approximately 6000% more excited if it looks more like Avatar than Clone Wars. Cheap CG kids TV needs to go away.

Isn't this the IP Volpe said would be getting a AAA game?
Not sure about triple A, but it does look like the series will also be getting its own game.

You could make a Netflix Original series, or you could make a video game — or if you're newly minted studio Wonderstorm, you make both. It's founders are Riot Games vets, and they're partnering up with MWM (previously Madison Wells Media) to create an original animated Netflix series as well as a corresponding game for late 2018.
"Some of our favorite experiences when we were younger, and now for that matter, have been with worlds that have amazing characters and stories, but also great video games and other opportunities to play in that world," said Richmond. "So we wanted our studio to be a two-headed beast that could deliver awesome experiences on both the story and game front. We got lucky that one of the first partners that believed in our creative vision was Netflix. Ultimately, we hope that our audience and players find our Netflix series engaging, and that it sparks their imagination — and that they take that with them so they can have a deeper and more engaging experience with an amazing game."

If I recall correctly, Aaron Ehasz wrote some of the best Airbender episodes.

Looking forward to this.

The thing that bothered me about Korea was the voice acting. It had the "this was recorded in a studio" sound that pervaded the whole series.

I never finished it, but I might give it a rewatch soon.
