http://www.vulture.com/2018/07/desus-and-mero-say-vice-abruptly-ended-their-contract.html

Trust that any interview that begins with "can I just be messy off the rip right now?" is going to be brimming with piping hot tea, particularly when it's a Bossip exclusive. Desus and Mero recently chatted with the drama site to talk about leaving their viral Viceland show behind for a new late-night series at Showtime. Except, according to the two comedians, they technically didn't get a chance to leave at all — Vice allegedly cut them loose when the company caught wind of the Showtime news. "Vice has us for 2 more months. We did not leave Vice, Vice ended our contract. They were in their feelings because we were leaving," Desus says. "We could still be doing the show." Mero's read on their sudden divorce from Vice: "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face."

how you going to not respect the only thing folks watch your channel for

That's 2 less months of having a show anyone likes on your network

I love Desus and Mero but if that's the only thing you liked on their network, I'd question your age. Vice has been vital hipster source for news and entertainment for over a decade.

I mean, they had two option, pay them what they're worth or cut them loose. No point in having them on if you know they're gonna leave. Now D&M have time to focus on pre-production for their new show.

Vice's news reporting is great but entertainment-wise? Ehhh, I'd rather just watch Comedy Central or Adult Swim for that type of stuff.

Honestly I don't really like the show. It's pretty much the Hodge twins show with less grunts and bioscience.

But Desus is a true child of a yardie. Love dudes dress sense.
*Googles a Hodgetwin*

Yes, if you can't get your fix from two identical Alt-Right fuckos with a YouTube show, try Desus and Mero

How many shows about weed does a person need?

(Vice news, which is great, is on HBO, not vice land)

That's probably why they're the only thing I liked about Vice, aside from that Charlottesville piece (for all I know Vice News is great but I haven't seen much of it).

To each their own of course.

I read this as 'Desus and Mero Make Working at Viceland Hell' and was thoroughly confused.

The good news program they put out is on HBO, viceland is literally terrible except desus and mero. Action Bronson can be ok too, in small doses.

Yeah, losing Desus & Mero is the end of that network. It was the only consistent show of quality they had - it was their tentpole and it had a thriving following. If they weren't stripping the copper wire out of their Brooklyn HQ to keep the brand happy, they weren't prioritizing things correctly.

If you're talking specifically about Viceland as a TV network, maybe it is hopeless. I watch everything via HBO and their you tube channel. But even before those things were a thing I remember watching David Choe's Thumbs Up show which was amazing and something about cute animals. I still have a huge collection of the magazines which were basically the same thing as their HBO news show. Travelogue, photography, drug use, and great writing mixed with a layer of smut.

Damn. I'll miss the show but I'll gladly take them working at showtime and making better money then being miserable at viceland. At least we still get that art every week.

que?

what on earth makes you think the Hodgetwins are Alt-right?

I swear I can't take this forum seriously sometimes.

Furthermore, whether you like it or not, YouTube popularised the "reaction" format that Desus and Mero found their fame with.

There is a reason they chop their topics into bitesize chunks on the vice channel.
Could be the unironic MAGA hashtags all over their Twitter page

Unless they're Colberting people on a ridiculously unattainable level. In which case, kudos I guess

I mean is that so weird? Seems like it's pretty common since Viceland is filling time with reruns of Hoarders, Intervention(remember when that was a thing?), and always sunny

I don't watch Viceland or pay for cable so I had no idea it was that bad. I thought all they played on the network was the same thing they've been making for their own website and you tube channel for years.

If they did that maybe they wouldn't be tanking

How you gonna disrespect the hottest show on late night

Also i dont get this from a business point of view.

Would you not want to get the money for the remaining two months, and also giveyourself time to cast and create a replacement show ?

They are trolling. Just like when they were trolling vegans for a couple months.

Now that is not to say they aren't conservative or aren't examples of "toxic masculinity" or whatever nonsense people talk about here, but they seem to just like rubbing certain groups up the wrong way from time to time. It's a big jump to go from that to Alt right imo.
They're not alt right, I don't think they're conservative either. Both of them is married to Mexicans, hodgetwins are great, less ny vibe but more southern fuckery.

condemning people basically as nazis is goddamn ridiculous.
