I recently started going through Twin Peaks: The Return for the first time since its debut. I absolutely loved it the first time around, but the second time is even more enjoyable since I'm not waiting for Coop to make his return. My god this season is so good.

What about you?

Deadwood for sure.

Still my favourite drama of all time, and having to focus less on the plot (the second time around) lets you focus on the ridiculously incredible dialogue.

Westworld almost requires a second viewing. So much subtext that comes across as gibberish during your first watch. A lot of monologues in the first season, which come across as pretentious rambling, are actually straight up spoilers for the events of the second season.

Arrested Development season 4. I really didn't care for it my first go around, but decided to watch the re-cut edition and I liked it a lot more.

Cabin in the Woods took two viewings for me to really appreciate how great of a commentary it was on horror.

I thought Suspiria was dumb as hell when I first watched it, and upon second viewing it became a favorite of mine.

The Prestige as well.

Kimmy Schmidt and arrested development. Especially season 4. The new format only really clicks starting episode 3 when the timelines start intersecting.

Kimmy schimdt because it's packed with jokes and some great reactions you only appreciate on a second watch.

The whole series benefits from a rewatch. They signal upcoming jokes and situations throughout the series and are really only appreciated on repeat viewings.

FLCL was for me at least. So many jokes I missed that I picked up on.

Been rewatching Steven Universe after the latest round of episodes and really enjoying how much the older episodes of the show get recontextualized based on different things happening as the show continues.

This, plus the way they handle the chronology of the scenes is clearer on a second viewing.

but mostly because of what you think a blade runner sequel should be like the first time you watch it versus what deep down you truly understand what a blade runner sequel should be like

Mad Men

seeing that thing through and familiarizing yourself with all the characters makes that first season and just the whole rewatch a better experience

West Wing for me. It's comfort food watching at its best especially now with how reality is.

As far as it getting better, I really appreciate the writing and dialogue more now that I know where the plot is going. Easier to focus on how sharp it all is.

The Good Place is a good show that becomes great the second time you watch it. There are so many details and obvious jokes you don't even notice the first time.

Same for me. While it's not really funny like its previous seasons, but it's still REALLY entertaining to go back to older s4 episodes and go "oh hey, it's THAT character. Wow!"

The nostalgia I get when watching Frasier and Roseanne have kept me watching seasons over and over and over. I think Frasier holds up especially well (no, not because of that). Cheers felt a little too "sleepy" for me...not sure how to describe it. Will and Grace is another fun one to revisit. But man, I'd love to watch a spinoff of Frasier with all the intelligence and wit of the original show. Is there anything like that on tv today?
