Not too surprising, but looking at the original super Valkyrie (and Jetfire the transformer based off it) f-14 didn't pop into my headSeveral fighters in the Macross universe are based on real world ones.
RG Astray red frame plated ver. complete at last!
It kinda makes me wish I picked up the blue frame plated ver at the gundam base too.
I love it! What internals did you make to hold the head camera?I don't think I have shared this here but I finished my scratch built GM/SM Sniper a few months ago.
Its basicly a deformed GM from the Gundam gag manga, "Tony Takezaki presents GUNDAM manga"

Working on my Gouf Custom. I wonder what drawbacks there are to using Lacquer? As far as I can tell, they are superior to Enamel in every way. Any insight?
I went with off-white and maroon. Here's the shield. It's an old MG so it's just two pieces, lol. However, there is a lot more to come with the shield with this being Gouf Custom.
Mostly because of how toxic it is and how careful you have to be when using it.
It's my least favorite of the bunch, but I still enjoy it. I got stuck with two Nu ver. ka because the first one I ordered took ages to arrive so I got my money back and ordered another one from another seller. Then they both arrived at the same time so I paid the first guy again and now I had two of them.I've never been a fan of the Nu HWS. Once you see the grandma with enormous tits and an apron you cannot unsee it.
All plastic models are welcome. There's just a lot of gunpla discussion. So this Gunpla thread... Does this happen to cross over with Japanese figure Garage Kits? I'd assume there's a lot of cross over in skills, but not sure so much in discussion.

Oh yeah resin too of course! I've heard they are really difficult to deal with compared to plastic model kits.Well, more Resin than plastic, but sweet!
I've got my 1/4 scale Bayonetta garage kit that I need to figure out how to assemble. The sheer *massive size* of it makes me think that I won't have too much trouble with small detail work (as there is none :V ) but so far I don't even have an airbrush, let alone experience with one.
Hoping I don't completely ruin it (which is why it's still completely unassembled half a year later &_& )
It's the plamo thread. If you want so share pictures of your stuff, I'm interested in nice painted kits as well. There's just a lot of Gundams because they're easier to make plus the demo of Era.So this Gunpla thread... Does this happen to cross over with Japanese figure Garage Kits? Well, they are completely unpainted, and not altogether 'finished'.... But as far as I understand, it's largely the same processes, just 'more'. Still need to sand edges, still need to refine a few pieces, and still need to paint... You just have to sand more, refine more, and paint literally the entire thing, instead of just adding detail lines etc.Oh yeah resin too of course! Sadly I have yet to do any, this Bayonetta will be my first, still in research stage (forever &_&)It's the plamo thread. If you want so share pictures of your stuff, I'm interested in nice painted kits as well. There's just a lot of Gundams because they're easier to make plus the demo of Era.
Oh they are, since most if not all resin kits are hand made recasts, they are not snap fit and will more likely than have some fitting issues. To put them together you have to use a combination of pinning, magnets, or more commonly superglue. And to top it off, resin dust is toxic so you will have to wet sand the kit or have a good respirator to block the resin dust.Oh yeah resin too of course! Yeah, that does sound quite intimidating to me at the moment. Especially the toxic dust thing.Oh they are, since most if not all resin kits are hand made recasts, they are not snap fit and will more likely than have some fitting issues. I only spray outside, so no problem there. I feel like Enamel has a 'softer' look. It takes a long long long time to dry, too. It's why my Hi Nu took weeks and weeks.

Quattro's starting MS in Zeta is the Rick Dias, not the Rick Dom. In HG there's the regular red one, the dark blue one as piloted by his partners and there's a third kind of Rick Dias variant called the Schuzrum Dias but that's not even from Zeta, it's from Double Zeta.Ok, got the 2 kits waiting for me at home(been on a summer trip) so about time to put in the next order for the slow ship. Have decided to wrap up the og msg collection with Guntank(I mean, gotta have the trio!), but then it's time to move on to Zeta era(well for ordered stuff. When I move closer to a B&N I'll take advantage of my membership and grab what fits my fancy).
So was considering grabbing 'Quatro's starting AEUG mech,(its a Rick-dom right?) what's the best option on that in hg?
Fakkin hell I spent a few hours trying to sand off what I thought were mold... feed points? Iunno but they were actually pegs. :/
It won't negatively harm the figure due to how it's designed (you're kinda just supposed to glue objects on top of it, rather than slotting them in) but it's just really fun to know you spent a few hours doing NOTHING.
Well thankfully in my case, it was something that'd be glued anyway, but oof.I know that feel. I sanded the pegs of the cockpit door of my RG Z Gok so it now can't stick to the model without glue and it killed my desire to continue working on it -_-
Same! the picture I posted previously of Char's Zaku. while I was snipping out the first front skirt piece I thought the 'ball' joint was part of the gate and snipped that shit cleanly off!I sanded the pegs of the cockpit door of my RG Z Gok so it now can't stick to the model without glue
Thanks! And of course gotta go with the Ch... I mean Quattro version. Also after reading some reviews I've decided to wait on Guntank, as I may be better off waiting for a review version, or going master grade with it.Quattro's starting MS in Zeta is the Rick Dias, not the Rick Dom. In HG there's the regular red one, the dark blue one as piloted by his partners and there's a third kind of Rick Dias variant called the Schuzrum Dias but that's not even from Zeta, it's from Double Zeta.
So for Quattro Rick Dias there's actually just one HG.
There are also both red and dark blue Rick Dias in Master Grade form but if you are going for 1/144 the HG is your only option.
Great job! I like his amber looking sword.
The nubs on him and the swords were a pain in the butt because almost all the runners were connected to curve
And people in the Gundam film thread were adamant that Wing was the most popular in the west yet it's still treated like some second class citizen.
Glad you liked it.
I definitely recommend picking up an RG! I think they have even more detail than most MGs and the stickers make you think more of a ver.Ka version than a standard MG. They are a real treat.Been working on these MGs for a while, mostly over the last 6 months or so. MGs feel like my sweet spot for size and detail, but I should try an RG at some point just to compare.
The V-Gundam Ver.Ka is cool but I don't think I'd buy a titanium finish kit again. The finish is nice but all the sprue cuts look extra shitty against the shiny surface, and I don't plan on doing any painting.
I've only put the stickers on the RX-78 so far. The other two have water slides to deal with - flashbacks to my youth building plane kits!
No panel lining yet, but I have a set of gundam markers ready to do it. Just need to pick a kit to do first since I'll probably make some mistakes there.
Unless you got a special edition Char's Zaku II that comes with water slides, the regular MG comes with dry transfers.
