Netflix's original sci-fi offerings have been pretty lame up until this point IMO, but hopefully this one will be decent. It's good to see Michael Peña do a more dramatic role. And while I didn't care for Arrival, I thought the screenwriter did a pretty good job telling that particular story, so hopefully the script for this is pretty solid.

The first half of the trailer reminds me of Take Shelter. I'm hoping the action/invasion/pew-pew-pew stuff that seems to ensue doesn't end up being the weakest part of the film.

I stopped the trailer a minute in, as these usually give away the entire plot. Will tune in to support my fellow hispanic!

Gotta be honest, looked kinda mehhhh. But it's starring Pena, Colter, and Caplan, so I'm going to give it a shot. All 3 are interesting actors.

Will probably watch for Michael Peña. I really need to watch more of his stuff after crushing on him in End of Watch.

We'll already know what's coming after we watch How It Ends on July 13th. Netflix loves their end of the world fantasy stories.

Invaders look very humanoid. Probably humans from the future/alternate universe or something

Hounds of Love was a great horror film, so seeing the director do this gives me a little hope it'll be decent.

It's hard to get excited about this movie, knowing that like half of it is going to be this guy having dreams/visions but nobody believes him.

Sure, I'll watch a film, that a studio (Universal) deemed to not be of good enough quality to release theatrically, on Netflix.

It's not as if it's going to cost me anything.., beyond the Netflix subscription obviously.

This is the weirdest Marvel crossover.

I do hope this gives Pena more worth, I just hope this is better than his last dramatic role.

Looks awful in the way I love. Sure, I wish Netflix would make better sci fi movies but until that happens...

In only because of Pena, he receives alot of unwarranted shit on the (internet at least), he is a good actor who I'd definitely would like to see in more roles.

He dreams about it and it happens. Makes me wonder what was the point of the dreams if he wasn't ready for it, or it might be all a dream. Will have to watch it now, in order to find out.

In it to support the diverse leading cast, but I don't have high hopes.

Netflix putting out so many terrible movies is baffling, they have money and talent involved, I don't get how they can swing so many misses.

Just finished it and I need to hear opinions about it. I think it was ok, if a bit slow to start, but not too long either. I even consider re watching it after the major plot twist (it's one of those movies).
There are plot holes that bother me though, 2 specifically:
/!\ MAJOR SPOILERS THAT WILL RUIN THE MOVIE:
First, why did the human make a point to look like aliens? I mean, they say they didn't know if the atmosphere was breathable, I get that. But the overall look of their suits is literally alien.
And the big one for me: How did they not notice that they and their kids were not aging during 50 years?
Oh and the CGI of the bridge at the end was rough. I don't normally notice this sort of thing but this one looked like stop motion. Maybe it was.

This will be a bad movie. Tao, Titan, This is how it Ends, Bright, Death Note, Cloverfield Paradox and Mute. Their sci fi genre movies are almost always bad.

Clearly quality control is not a priority, they are just trying to make as many marketable movies as possible. They just want you to watch the movie, not necessarily enjoy it. Enjoyment is not the priority, staying on Netflix for new content is.

Annihilation is amazing though. I was hoping this might one of the few good ones.

Watched it this morning. Not good. Not good at all. But then again I don't expect much ever from Netflix movies and that's exactly what they deliver - not much.
