looking worse and worse for federer. anderson about to join tsonga and berdych as big hitters upsetting federer in a wimbledon quarter.
Yeah, Federer looks 37 today. He needs to pull an ultimate houdini act. If he loses this match, it will be yet another one where he had a match point :(
Federer is absolutely awful today, to the point I'm wondering if he's ok. Almost every single forehand he has hit since the second set has been trash. The amount of errors is just insane. And now he looks very low energy, not reaching balls on time anymore and his serve is ineffective. It's Halle all over again, he looks faded.
sure but Federer's fh is awful and that has nothing to do with Anderson.
He won two sets against the Number 7 in the world and had one match point.
I think Anderson mainly deserves credit for not giving up and finding ways to disrupt Federer. On the other hand, Federer is feeding him belief by playing very badly and missing shots he wouldn't normally miss, certainly not at that frequency.
So many players choke in big moments against Djokovic, Fed, and Nadal, so we're a little surprised.
And clearly it's not because the othert guy is giving him a fight, playing well on his strength... Sometimes it's one guy doing it all alone (winning or loosing), not here.
The crowd is rooting for federer now. Switched to the nadal game...man what a blast from the past. Do all the players wear all white for wimbledon? Apologies for the super newb questions, the last wimbledon match i watched was the federer vs nadal finals eons ago (yes that match).
