Oh, man. If they don't release it here, I hope someone dumps it so we can just play at home.

I'm not sure if they're all like that but these arcade mario kart games are pretty shit surpring so I hope it's improvement. They also force you to cough money to continue even if you ace the game.

All these pop up VR experiences are kinda a bummer when we finally have pretty good consumer VR tech for the home.

Then by home you mean someone making a backup of the arcade and making it run on any common pc (I understand it's running on windows so that shouldn't be too difficult I guess). I thought you meant a official release.

I mean an official release. HTC Vive vr headset is also available for purchase for home private use.

Played it in Tokyo and enjoyed it a lot. The VR looked nice and grabbing items out of the air worked fairly well. I feel like it needed to be just a little longer so that you could get a feel for everything before starting, so that you could actually make the items matter, but otherwise it was a good time.

I just realized the Peach's Castle there looks similar to the Mario + Rabbids one. I forgot how it looks in Super Mario Odyssey.

I think the best we can hope for in America is for it to get installed in Universal's Nintendo Land thing.

It reminds of when they licensed a bunch of their NES games to Hudson to release on PC88, X1 and FM7.
Off-topic but man that version of Super Mario was really weird with it's screen scrolling stuff. No wonder Nintendo and Hudson never bothered porting that anywhere else.

Anyway, minds would explode if Nintendo allowed this to be on steam or something, they won't though.

I love the concept, but I am all set with putting on a HMD that's been worn by thousands of strangers.
I played this at the Namco Shinjuku VR Zone and it was a lot of fun. The sense of scale was unreal.

You get your own paper face mask so the VR goggles don't make contact with anybody's face. Better?

I mean, what's to stop Nintendo releasing a 'VR labo' with lenses you slide the base switch screen into? It would be a bit rudamentary, but cheap on their end and could get some neat ideas out there.

Really just curious to see what the 'Nintendo approach' to VR would look like.
