Sometimes when I read how insanely stupid comic stories can get I completely agree with movies not adapting stories perfectly.

That last shot ruined it for me, what did they do to her mouth.

Outside of that...fucking finally. My favorite comic book couple. I'll read every issue if the marvel folks don't ruin it.

I loved Superior Foes of Spider-Man and that's the version of Nick Spencer I hope is writing this. Not the Nick Spencer who gave us the stupid Nazi Cap and Secret Empire story (though Coates is doing some interesting work writing for Captain America in the wake of that).

and if you heard the behind the scenes lobbying that slott had to do to make renew your vows a thing

it'd be nice if this stuck, I'm not holding my breath given everything we know
I've heard. Dude gets shit on for not bringing it back, but he very clearly wanted to. Even if you don't know the background stuff, you can see it in the writing very clearly.

Marvel: "No one could possibly relate to Peter under those circumstances now please read stories of Peter Parker, International Man of Mystery, running his own multi-billion dollar company and creating Spider-Mobiles, all while reeling from Doctor Octopus stealing his body for nearly 50 issues!"
All of that happened to a friend of mine.

Yikes at the animation. MJs face in that last panel looks like she's pleasantly recalling the time she consumed the flesh or innocent children.

Ended up going out and buying this. Also picked up Slott's final run. Haven't bought a Spider Man comic in a few years.

Hopefully it doesn't last long.

Spencer talked about there being new love interests and The Black Cat so heres hoping Spider-Man/Atom Eve is heading for a quick disaster.

Happy for fans who wanted them to get back together for abit but yeah, always hated her myself.

Technically, so does Mary Jane.

I can tolerate useless mean comments at Slott. But in all honesty, there are people who hate the man because he didn't "fix" what Marvel editorial ruined. And the fact the no one ever got past OMD (you know who you are), didn't know who to direct that hate until Slott took over full time. Yeah, that's right, Slott was not the only writer on Spider-Man right after OMD. There are a lot of Slott haters changing facts and making mistakes pinning everything after OMD on Slott and pointing out how Slott sucks because Peter isn't with MJ. There are also a lot of Slott haters that have only read one Spidey arc years ago and decided that Slott sucks. Hell, in the old place, any time an event or idea of Slott's was announced, people were dismissive as all hell because Slott was behind the idea and nothing else.

For no good reason, yeah you read right, no good fucking reason at all, people throw so much toxicity and vitriol at him because of a comic book. A COMIC BOOK. I've had two arguments here on Era regarding Slott and neither person could tell me what about Slott's run they disliked. They didn't remember and yet what they read of his work was enough for them to hate the man. To hate the man, not the work, the man himself. The internet regarding Slott and Spider-Man has been such a god damn shit show.

Seems like setup for a bunch of folks to get Batman 50'd

Peter didn't ask MJ to marry him. And given the way Marvel creators and editors have spoken out on this issue, it's hard to believe we'll ever actually see him ask her to marry him again.

(I still expect we'll see them break-up at some point and get back together at a later point. Because on-again/off-again is the name of the game with super hero romances.)

New to comics but is there currently two amazing spider-man comics from different authors that are currently ongoing?

amazing spider man is the flagship, it's this book written by nick spencer. he just started his run, dan slott just wrapped up his run. there's also peter parker the spectacular spider man written by chip zdarsky and amazing spider man renew your vows (an alternate universe book where peter and MJ are married with a child and they all have spider powers) written by I don't know right now, I think the writers flipped at a certain point
