Or, more realistically, when the game was released, it was exclusive. It's not like it came out on non-Playstation platforms in Japan and they sealed them off for the US release. They released what they had and they ported it later, this isn't some sneaky trick.
It's not a lie so much as it is representative of when the game originally released. It was only available on PlayStation at the time of its release, hence the label.
Kenzen has a very inappropriate story that would not be allowded in the United States it's never going to come out in English. Inshin could but i think its too late1) I already pre ordered 0 on PC. I would also buy an Xbox port to support it.
2) remaster Kenzan and bring it over!
3) bring over ishin! It looks amazing!
Source?
Just release all third party games on Xbox and put pressure on Sony to double down on first party Japanese games and more quality. They can begin with Polyphony Digital and expand them after a decade of complacent and build a mid-sized team to create games similar to Omega Boost.
Well, I guess Kiwami 2 is going to flop after all. Everybody nowadays is playing on Xbox, according to this thread. What were they thinking, releasing these games on a different system?
Imagine being this salty at the mention of a possibility of a Yakuza port on Xbox that you need to make shit up.Well, I guess Kiwami 2 is going to flop after all. Everybody nowadays is playing on Xbox, according to this thread. What were they thinking, releasing these games on a different system?

Isn't there an 'only on PS4' logo on the Yakuza games though? Meaning exclusivity deal with Sony?
Kiwami 2 demo is amazing but it's only 1080p even on the Pro, so I'd totally be down for an X port. Don't see it happening though.
It depends on the scale of the increases, for example 3DS went from it's embarrassing old performance to a CPU setup that outmuscles Vita with n3DS. The bigger issue there is more that most devs didn't bother with the higher performance profile, although the industry is more used to that sort of thing now on consoles.Realistically a 'Nintendo Switch Pro' would still be quite a ways away from PlayStation 4 technically. It is actually super embarrassing how Yakuza 6 runs on the base PlayStation 4, so I do not think this is something they will be considering.
Nintendo Switch's successor absolutely can and should get all of the franchise going forward at that point, but we are talking about something that could be five years or more away from now. There is no reason to build up players hopes with remasters of 10 year old games when everyone is talking about Shin Yakuza and whatever else comes after.
I do think it would be better to create a side-series more suited to Nintendo's markets in the meantime. Something like Herobank, I guess. Maybe Ryu ga Gotoku Studio's new IP is designed with more markets in mind?
oh okay so you do own an Xbone then right? your post reads as if you don't have onejust the game. support platform diversity and especially the game. not the first mint game i own,
I don't really get the logic here, potential sales don't really justify the amount of time, effort and risk involved in something like this. I would imagine porting 0 and Kiwami to the Xbox One is a much more small-scale risk as opposed to making a full-blown game that may or may not fail. I can't really blame RGG Studios for reacting this way after using the Wii U port of 1 and 2 as an experiment only for it to not even break top 50 in its debut week with under 2000 copies sold. Even with such modest expectations, that number is extremely disappointing. That said, I personally would think making a Switch exclusive Yakuza series that targets the Switch demographic would make more sense to bolster series sales further before releasing it on Xbox
Bingo. I feel guilty for having fun while riling them up.
Xbox is already getting pretty much everything from Sega except Yakuza.Do we know what Sega was up to visiting Microsoft a few months back? If Xbox could begin securing some of these third-party Japanese titles, I'd have much less of a reason to own a PlayStation console.
Persona as well, technically.Xbox is already getting pretty much everything from Sega except Yakuza.
I mean, if we're including Atlus then there's a whole heap of games Xbox is missing out on.
Sure, I was also referring to Ni no Kuni and how Nier only came to Xbox a whole year later. Nioh, too, unless they have some sort of affilitation with PlayStation I'm unaware of.I mean, if we're including Atlus then there's a whole heap of games Xbox is missing out on.
The Switch will have a higher userbase than the xbone by the time a hypothetical Yakuza game releases on xboneMaking an exclusive to the (currently) smallest userbase goes totally against expanding your market
Yakuza Kenka Bancho would be dopeI'm sure it'll happen. They do like to do spinoffs every few games to give them more time to build up the next main game. It'll be interesting to see where they go next (I've seen them mention a couple of times about doing a game set while Kiryu is in school which could be fun in a River City Rampage/Kenka Bancho way)
Sad but true. I thought it was pretty good, but it didn't have much of a visual identity and it was in a genre with a lot of competition.Binary Domain was a huge flop, nobody is funding a sequel to that.
I would probably buy the game if it eventually landed on Xbox, infact, I have a couple of friends who would be all over this if it ever came over to Xbox. Phil go pay a visit to Sega.why people here get so upset with the console launch exclusive label microsoft uses then? it's not a trick when they show it either. it's an exclusive.... for launch. its not up to microsoft to tell people when other versions will release just like it wasnt up to sony to tell people sega could potentially port it to pc years later.
Not beyond the realms of expectation now. The localisation team have been doing great work. I think it might happen depending when Shin is due out. But first I want an uncut Yakuza 3 localisation if possible!
I mean even if they wanted to bring it on Switch, the Dragon engine games wouldn't work on the switch without huge downgrades. The engine isn't even working well on the PS4 version because it's still getting optimized.
While I somewhat agree, I feel like the Dragon Engine would be awesome after they are done developing it. Yakuza 6 to Yakuza Kiwami 2 got a lot of updates that made it smoother so I can definitely see it becoming a great engine.I kind of wish major Japanese developers would abandon their ridged in-house engines that barely work on the consoles they were designed for all together *cough*Luminous*cough*. Unreal Engine 4 proved that developers want flexible, easy to use engines that work on everything.
This game was really awesome. It was like the old delinquent animes I used to watch back in the day.
I seriously doubt this ever happens. Less because of demand in the west for it, but simply because Yakuza is always a holiday game in Japan while over here it'd be absolutely slaughtered trying to compete with the big boy AAA(A) type games. Even Ubisoft turned tail and took Far Cry to March to avoid the bloodbath that is holidays in the west. Sega don't want none of that shit lol >.<
Yeah this along with JoJo can work perfectly. The side stories themselves remind me of the weird shit that happens in JoJo.
Goddamn right. The only thing that matters from this interview is binary domain 2
Day one on that shit

I would also love a wrestling Yakuza game that has behind the scene exploration with the player going around doing side stories like the WWE segments and with boss battles and set pieces in the ring.
