Do I have to tell people I am from Canada or Mexico, instead of the US?

Is there danger? Should I explain I went to protest too? Im really trying to see the beautiful castles and history around London.

No, tell them you're from the US and you're ashamed of our President. That's what I do when I'm there.

Are you wearing US flag apparel? Are you planning on being obnoxious as fuck? No? As an American living in the UK, you'll be fine.

That US state department warning is ridiculous.

Wear your favorite MAGA hat with a nice set of boot cut jeans and an American flag shirt

No My wife and I are ultra aware and cool people from Los Angeles.

You guys have kind of calmed my fears, I was really thinking we were going to be chased around. haha I know that sounds ridiculous, but the anti american sentiment seems the strongest it has even been in my lifetime.

When you go out to eat, just remember that you don't have to tip and you don't have to applaud at the end of the meal.

They're protesting Trump, not America or Americans. Brits in general seem to love Americans, as long you we aren't obnoxious.

As long as you drop the obnoxious attitude of thinking Americans are so important we actually care about them you'll be fine.

The majority of Britons you run into are pretty chill in my experience. Just be normal, and wear your best American flag cowboy hat.

I've heard from people to just say you're from California. If you're gonna lie, at least do it with an American accent without worry.

People around the world understand California hates Trump. You'll be recieved better.

We're protesting the presence of that bloated tit Trump, not Americans at large. I doubt anyone will even acknowledge your existence.

A good expression for ordering food in pubs, just practice the accent.

Pub food (grub) is pretty decent in London.

Hope you enjoy your trip, original poster. Hampton Court Palace is beautiful, and given how little time you have in London I'd hesitate to suggest piling any more on especially if you'll be dealing with jet lag. Enjoy Paris too, in my opinion it's a rather more beautiful city even than London where I lived for over twenty years.

I appreciate it so much.
