A little reminiscent of some Driveclub tracks. Wonder how long it is as it presumably includes the bridge section.

BTW, there's also a midweek update with some rather significant penalty system updates. Minor contact will no longer be punished amongst other changes.

The Instagram post for this video gives a clearer shot of the environment

If I ever get the money I would love to play this. I haven't played a GT since 3. The online sounds neat. I need a physical copy of this to go on sale for $20 or less.

A road based P2P would be nice, something similar to azure coast in PC would work well (or like any of the p2ps in DC). With the amount of road cars in past GT games I always have found it strange there have been a lack of p2p road tracks. Same with the decision to go for that weird off-road thing they have in the series rather than hillclimb.

Personally, I'd expect a traditional circuit layout. But it really depends on the length of the track. Point-to-point tracks would be great. They could accommodate road, race and rally cars.

If it does turn out to be a particularly lengthy track they'll probably have multiple layouts.

Another thing that must be said about GT Sport is the success of the Sport mode. Doesn't matter what day or time I decide to play, the races are always filled. Since launch until now, I have never got an empty race. I didn't expected this mode to be populated like this even months after release.

If PD decides to work on a more traditional GT (GT7) I hope they keep the Sport mode alive inside it. It's super fun.

I've tried it, and unfortunately it's not really the campaign I'd expect from a Gran Turismo.

This is hilarious because its exactly as it always been and personally i think it sucks as it always has.

Theres much more interesting ways to make a "campaign"... tons of special events, recreation of classic races and rivalries with option to do it offline or online for example, instead of racing with an often OP car against uncompetitive AI

Either way the beauty of GT Sport is exactly there.. in Sport mode, playing against fast and clean racers = bliss

The stuff for this track give me some driveclub vibes, that's cool.
It's exactly the same stuff as older GTs.
Exactly? No. Similar, sure I can give you that with the license tests and the races. But the RPG-like progression that came with direct rewards from each races and the plethora of individual parts upgrades were a core component to a lot of people that made the game's campaign/career satisfying to go through. Replacing it with a "reward for time played" exp system and rewarding cars left and right for not even winning anything, with extremely simplified "parts" upgrades is really not the same feel at all.

Agreed - I hadn't played for a few months (moved and hadn't set up the wheel until the other night) and I hopped into Sports mode. I still love it! Its the first game I've raced online and felt like I could just sit back in 6th place and enjoy it as long as I was competitive and had a clean race.

Even though I don't care for sport mode, I've been saying this as well. Hoping PD is working on a traditional GT (releasing relatively sooner by leveraging these assets hopefully) that has a Sport mode for the people who like it, because it definitely seems to be attempting (and succeeding at) some interesting things. I've never been of the exclusionary mindset, so always got a bit pissed off at the "fuck you, got mine" mentality so many people have around games (and other things in general) sometimes.

Oh man, I would jump in immediately if there was a campaign.
They added a new mode for single player that is basicly the same campaing mode from other GTs. Like you start in the beginner division doing all those races especific for low power cars, all the way up to endurance division. Thers more than 100 races in that new mode alone, and as they release new tracks and cars they also add new races for that mode.

Also for this mode you need to use the cars from your garage. So for example if you want to do a race exclusive for Renault Clio (like the one i just did today) you gotta have or buy a Renault Clio. Just like in previous GTs.

They are definitely working on GT7, it'll use what they've worked on Sport but on Steroids, online component will be there alongside much more cars and tracks.

It'll be a Ps5 tittle, Sport will be updated until 2020. Kaz said he wants 400 cars on Sport, I think we're at 230, probably 240/250 by end of this month, still many updates to go.

It's exactly the same stuff as older GTs.

Not unlocking cars as the form of progression is a gigantic difference. I realIze it doesn't work with the their model but it is in no way exactly like older GTs. Also no tuning. In fact, I'm hard pressed to say a way in which it's the same - GT of old was a CaRPG, none of that is present here.

The AI is also, somehow, dumber. I guess because they designed this as an online game, they didn't prioritize AI.

Wut? AI was terrible on GT4, is way better here, they don't go through you, they actually look intelligent this time, sure it isn't perfect but it's way better than before.

I played probably over 1000h on GT4 & 3, Sport is above and beyond AI wise.

Huh - we are having very different experiences, cuz mine basically feels like a traffic simulation. Also, doesn't address the other issues I raised about the SP

I must've been imagining playing around with the LSD on a car a couple of nights ago.

No need to get chirpy, I was pretty clearly talking about tuning as a central element of progression in the SP.

For the tuning they just got rid of the fluffy menus. I miss them, myself. But that's about it.

Ai is great in this game

Only other track racer I feel I'm racing against humanoid type opponents is in wreckfest I love seeing them make tiny mistakes in both gt and wreckfest and then compensating for it

Wreckfest is a bit more funny because the opponents actively attack u haha

Actually i just tunned up a car in the carrer mode. Its not as deep as it was in previous GTs, but u can spend mileage points to tune up the power and weight and then increase the power of the car. You can even use some lower cars in higher divisons and vice versa by adjusting the horse power of the cars. But yeah, previous GTs tunning was much more deep as u could buy and upgrade the exausts, the brakes and many engie parts. Maybe in GT7 it goes back to its roots. I like alot of stuff in this GT, but miss how the old GTs was too. But the idea of this GT was to be online focused, its already good they have been ading alot of single player content.

There's Tuning like shopping for parts. Then there's Tuning like developing and maintaining your own setting for a car.

GT used to have a sort of menu system that let you pretend you were shopping at your favorite tuning shop. This mechanic also played into the economy.

They got rid of the shopping aspect but the actual tuning where you tune the chassis settings like an instrument is still 100%.

So if you are saying the tuning is not as deep, you can only be referring to the old shop menu and the economy.

The gameplay loop of the old GTs was race, tune, unlock car/series repeat. That progression is fundamentally gone in GTS - I'm not saying tuning is not present, just as an element required for SP progression.

Don't get me wrong - there are amazing elements to GTS, but i loved the above described loop and really hope it gets resurrected when (if?) we see GT7.
