Had a house party and one of my friends brought her over. We've been together for 4.5 years now. Pretty surreal

Mine is pretty crazy.

I was kayaking with friends on the Charles River in Boston where I come across a starbucks frappucino bottle floating in the water. Pick it up, go to shore, open it, and its a funny, raunchy note from a girl and she left her number.

Called her, met up, hung out a few times. Turns out she went to a college very close to mine, her school was so small they used our dining hall too. Eventually made the move and went for a kiss after a party. She basically said "FINALLY"

That was 5.5 years ago.

Coffee Meets Bagel app. I hate the name of the app and it was generally my least favorite of the usual.

She appealed to me in every way that I found out you could "woo" using points I had built up. I was worried it would be creepy but she actually thought it was sweet. We talked for around two weeks (I was out of town for a week due to work) before we had a weekend to meet for a date. Our plans would last around two hours but instead we kept doing stuff for eleven hours that day. We consider that as our official day of getting together since we both knew by the end.

We just had our one month together a few days ago. We're inseperable. She's asleep next to me with her butt pressed into my lower back and we've both been over the moon this whole time.

I had been lazily using dating apps for around four+ years and have been on a ton of first dates and it eventually worked. I suggest sticking to it and don't be afraid to be picky.

Matched with my SO on Tinder and Bumble lol

Matched on bumble and tinder. had an amazing time before she had to move back home so we are now long distance (cross atlantic) going on just over 1 year now. I love her to bits <3

Bumble. I wasn't having much luck with Tinder so I gave that a try. She was my first (and only!) match. We got talking just before I went abroad for work for a week, and we kept chatting while I was away and decided to meet the evening I got back. Our first date ended up lasting five hours and we've been together for 2.5 years now.

God fucking bless you people. Never heard of Bumble before I made this thread. I won't count my chickens before they hatch just yet, but a Bumble match is extremely promising right now. Fingers crossed I can reply back to this thread in three months, six months, 1+ year and say "Met her through Bumble".

I have a really good feeling about this one. The chemistry between us in the Bumble chat is insane. And we have a first date next week.

Again, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Etc... But thanks for mentioning Bumble fellas.

I met my wife through a mutual friend. We hit it off, and once she was back in the area permanently, we started dating and married a year later. We just celebrated 15 years of marriage last month.

I met my other partner through our social circle. I spotted her on OKC, struck up a goofy conversation, and then we discovered that we really had a lot in common. We've been together 9 months and it's been pretty fucking incredible.

Twitter

Flirted a bit then took it to DMs. Been just over three years and just as happy as were at the start, if not more so.

I met my wife online, until we got married we would both lie and say we met through a mutual friend couple that we found out we shared once we started dating.

Now we just say "we met online". And it's not a big deal.

I don't remember how we met. It was in passing between friends. One day she took my number for some reason but I didn't take hers and she texted me saying happy birthday and I was like whos this? Lol. Then for a few months we would see each other a little more and more and started using snapchat to communicate all the time till like 4 in the morning. When we were playing cards against humanity I hit their ass with the hulk Hogan card and she's like "who is that? "and I was so confused that she was serious. We hooked up that night, had a date, slept together and then did that one more time a week or two later and when we were both laying there I awkwardly asked her if she would want to be my gf. First thing we did officially together was eat pizza and introduced her to twin peaks. It was a pretty hard time being together for the first year because I was stupid and should've listened more but I'm really happy she didn't give up on me. This past March was our 3 years together and this year we moved to a different state together with our amazing dog. I love her more than anything and I'm glad that I got to show her who hulk Hogan is and got her into wrestling. We celebrate our anniversary yearly by traveling to wrestlemania is and having a blast.
Edit : pretty sure this is the longest post I've ever made and didn't realize it till after so sorry for the one long paragraph.

Pure dumb luck. I was at a friend's house and she was hanging out with his younger brother. She'd been friends with my younger sister in high school and knew a bunch of things about me already. Apparently she thought I was cute ;) so we started chatting, set up a date on MySpace (yes we're dinosaurs) and the rest is history.

Through her sister. I went to HS with both of her older sisters. We first formally met during her youngest sister's 2nd birthday I believe (her mom had 6 kids and something like 15 pregnancies, absolutely crazy).

For those curious, she was 13 when I was 16 but we didn't date until I was 22 and she was 19.

*shrug* just deleted my Bumble acct for the third time after weeks of zero matches each. To say it's hit and miss would be charitable.

At university. She was an exchange student who came to talk to our Japanese class.

I thought she was cute as hell so I started inviting her out with some of my other international friends (I taught ESL classes as a part time job) and
the rest is history.

I hit on her at a super trashy local nightclub.

She hates that this is our "How did you two meet?" story, so she frames it as 'we met at a party' (which is half true, because i was invited to an acquaintances birthday party, she was at one of her friends' parties - later that night, both of the parties individually went on to said shitty nightclub)

At a student bar..

Being a bit too drunk.. bartenders said I could no longer order if I wanted to stay... she came up, I told her I couldnt buy any drinks.
She hooked me up with a beer. It was like a story tale, how everyone wants to meet.

Together 9 years

Kind of a funny story. Never asked a girl out before, as I'm extremely shy, but still quite sociable with people I know. Then in 2016 I get my first job on a MediaMarkt and meet like a hundred people all of a sudden. So we form a group of like 5 people, one of them being a really, REALLY funny girl that loved the same games, music, movies, etc. as I did.

So we essentially became best friends, and we start finding out not only that we lived like 5 minutes from each other, but also that we had gone to the same places and events, at the same time, without knowing each other. With both of us being as shy as we are, it took until some friends of us told me "dude, you spend all day with her, and she actually told me that she likes you". Got the courage to ask her out and she agreed. All of that happened in the span of like, two to three weeks. We've been together for two years now and it's definetely been the happiest time of my life.

OP, I'd say suggestions like Tinder and OKCupid are probably ok, but as you'll see on most responses to this thread, it'll just happen naturally.

OkCupid. Saw each other once a month with me making a 6 hour drive to and from. Long distance relationship was hard, but we moved in together a couple years once he relocated.

Met my Wife on tinder. We dated for 3 years before finally getting married this year. We are both in our mid thirties.

Tinder gets a lot of shit , but for introverts like myself , the app helped me make a good first impression even before you meet.

She was an intern at my job and she seemed intrested in my from the start. We flirted a bit on and off, however after two weeks she was told she would not get a job after the period for her internship ended because there were no positions available. She choose to terminate her internship and go to another company that promised her a job after she was done.

This of course crushed me as I was fairly certain we would end up together. A few days after she had quit I recieved a text in the middle of the night from her. She had spent the last few days getting a hold of my number and thinking up something witty to say. Three years later we're engaged and have a nice little doggo.

Had a pack lunch with me. Went to meet friends are Uni when I realised I was an hour earlier than usual. Saw this girl reading a book outside the front of the library. Noticed she was eating what looked like a home made sandwich. Decided to sit down next her. As I did I told her I was crazy. We started talking about her book...???.... 7 years later we're married and nearing our 2 year anniversary.

Met my wife in high school. Started dating when she was 14 and I was 16/17. Married on her 21st birthday, still married over 10 years later.

In that time we've made almost every relationship mistake you can make! We're on what we think of as our 3rd relationship now, granting each other do-overs till we got it right. This 3rd one is roughly 8 years old so.we think we're there or thereabouts now.

Totally in love, and equally as fortunate.

I'm 20 and I've never been in a serious relationship. Whoops.

Can't say I'm not a soxial person though.
I was 21 when I entered my first my first serious relationship. Don't worry too much about it not happening yet because everyone takes a different amount of time to find their groove with someone.
