TACOMA, Wash – A new billboard in South Tacoma is raising eyebrows – not for what it's selling, but for the message that it's trying to send.

A group called Tacoma Against Nazis paid to erect a billboard along Pacific Avenue to fight what it sees as white supremacy encroaching into their neighborhood.

The organization says its group of about 100 people have been fighting against a local business they believe has ties to white supremacy. And while for now it's just the billboard, the group promises to become more active in their fight against injustice.

"It's meant to be pretty shocking," said Tacoma Against Nazis co-founder Halley Knigge. "The fact there are groups coming to town who are making it impossible for diverse populations to live in safety and comfort in their own city is horrifying."

Man, fuck some of the quotes in that article. That MLK quote on moderates couldn't be more relevant

The billboard should just read. "The only good Nazi, is a dead Nazi"

Phoenix
Mottinger says he only spotted the new billboard Wednesday and, despite its message, he thinks it's an eyesore.

"It's saying there's Nazis living in your neighborhood, which it's none of their business," he said, "Who cares?"

This is the problem right here. The negative peace moderate. They care more about a sign than actual nazis.

I guess there have been signs being posted all around saying to call ICE and linking to a White supremacy website.

Not sure we can assume the man behind that quote is a 'moderate' of any sort.

If Trump is anything to go by, the exact people this should most inspire to somber reflection and stock-taking will probably react by saying, "Oh boy, I bet they'll show those libtards!"

I don't like it. It's in Nazi colors and (except in fine print) doesn't render any sort of judgment. It could just have easily been funded by a white supremacist group.

Any of the alternate messages proposed in this thread would be immeasurably better.

The guy looking like the Trump supporting stereotype says "Who cares?" and the the cop says "We see no nothing."

Very trusty sources. Yep. lol

It's a big blue sign :|

Admittedly, my vision is far from perfect, but it looks black, red, and white to me. In my opinion, the sign looks a lot like actual Nazi propaganda, and seems much more likely to scare minorities ("We're watching") than nazis.

That said, it's obviously from a place of good. I just wish it was more, "fuck nazis," and less like, "you are entering the realm of nazis"

I'm pretty sure that in current color schemes antifa wears black and Nazis wear white polos.

Ha, yeah, the antifa thing is a good point. I think the Nazi polos are black, though (although, like I said, my vision isn't the best and they could be blue)

Also let me reiterate that it's good that these folks are at least doing something, even if I think it's a bit confusing, visually
