Genuine question: As a brown person of South Asian origin (not American), would it be considered offensive if I used the n-word, not in an offensive way, but to recount what someone else said?

For example: "Schnatter is such a douche bag. He said n*****. That's not cool".

Just curious given that me nor my people have had anything to do with racism meted out to black people. I think the intended use of the word is gross, but would it be wrong for me to use it in any context?
Please, don't be one of those Asian guys walking around saying nigga. I'm not sure if they know they're hated by almost all black people.

Elections have consequences

The N-word remark by Papa John's founder caused sales to crater 10.5% in July

That's not going to improve any time soon. The company, which reported earnings after the market closed, lowered its outlook for comparable stores, saying executives now expect sales at stores open for at least a year to fall between 7 percent and 10 percent this year. Papa John's previously estimated that they wouldn't fall by more than 3 percent.

Its shares plummeted by almost 12 percent in aftermarket trading Tuesday.
