It just hit me today. What a lineup the Switch has had since the beginning of Summer.

Octopath Traveller
Hollow Knight
Mario + rabbids: DK expansion
Toad's Treasure Trackers
Wolfenstein 2
Inside
Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion
Crash Trilogy
Mario Tennis Aces
From other posters:
Blazeblue
Fortnite
Paladins
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA
Ikaruga
MUSYNX
Shining Resonance refrain
Lumines Remastered
Sushi Striker

And coming up:
Sonic Mania Plus
Overcooked 2
Monster Hunter generations Ultimate
And maybe Dark souls remastered
From other posters
Hyperlight drift
Megaman X collection 1 + 2
Okami HD
Dead Cells
Cosmic Star Heroine

I know some of these are ports and late releases but pretending they're not and even if they are what an incredible Summer lineup at a time when gaming is usually at it's most quiet.

Am I missing any good ones?
Think the Switch can keep it up?

I seriously don't get how folks can say the summer is dry. Sure, if you only play Nintendo games - but it's a solid lineup!

Edit: You missed Ys VIII and Musynx, btw!

It absolutely is, and even Nintendo-Only players should be happy with the Fantastic Octo-Expansion and solid Mario Tennis Aces.

And people are claiming there's a Switch drought. I guess they weren't there during the Wii U days, now THAT was a drought. This is nothing compared to those bleak times.

I think it's a pretty weak year if you own another console or the Wii U. Octopath and Hollow Knight are the only ones that really jump out from that list, although I'm interested in Monster Hunter.

In my case it's because I played most of those other games on other systems already. But I have gamed on my Switch the most I have since owning the system this month, bought Hollow Knight, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart 8, and have Octopath coming in tomorrow.

And with that price that was the same when many of those games released for that truly launch experience.
Captain Toad being the prime example.

It's a solid lineup if you don't own the games in other platforms, but a little weak if you're expecting new things.

I've put 50+ hours into Hollow knight and still have yet to beat it fully, the game is full of content

This is a fine lineup, but is it really remarkable?

Absolutely. Especially if you aren't a big PC player or someone who has a PS4/Xbox. Lots of good stuff. So much so, I can't even begin to keep up.

I'd add Ikaruga to the list as well. So much retro stuff on the docket.

I don't like the lineup very much myself, having owned a Wii U and played a lot of the late port games, but it's far, far from a drought. There's at least 2-4 big, notable releases a month (Nintendo and third party) with good indies in between. This is nothing like the Wii U days.

That said, can't really see myself buying much from now until Smash. Not because there's nothing there, but because none of it really appeals to me.

Nah. DLC, games I've already played, games I don't care about, Mario Tennis and Hollow Knight. If I didn't already have Crash and Inside on PS4 I'd be all over them on Switch though.

I'm not complaining because I have more to play than time currently. But eh most of them are late ports. I just have more opportunity to play them because of portability. If I had really clamored for them though, I would've already played them.
Still, playing West of Loathing and Hollow Knight, then on to Octopath and Octoling, maybe Wolf 2 at a discount. There's more than enough to choose from.

Indeed, mostly all of those games I've experienced before on other consoles.

Octopath Traveler will give my switch some much needed playtime though. Dubious about MH, I kinda fell off World quite quickly after reaching a road block after the "main story" ended.

hit me during E3 when I had Hollow Knight, Fortnite, the Octo Expansion, and the Octopath demo to play in rapid succession

the Switch's library is crazy right now

Eh, as someone who's already played all the indie games before, that's not an especially impressive list. Octopath looks like a must play for me though!

Really? Late releases of multiplats and indies?

So Nintendo's somehow killing it with this lineup, yet the same people will say Xbox has no games...

I recently got a switch and I've been spending to way to much money on games. Got hollow knight this week, blazblue last week and getting octopath traveller tomorrow. Great system with great games.

I'm certainly not hurting for quality gaming experiences, either on the big screen, or on the go. I'm going to start up my second Season Pass of Fortnite on the Switch, just because I wouldn't mind having a secondary account.

I wouldn't refer to Aces as killing it. More like overcharging and under-delivering it. But fortunately for me I have Hollow Knight to play instead, which so far I've put 30 hours into and still appear to have a ways to go. I also already have 20 hours into Lumines Remastered, which appears to be very popular on the Switch (moreso than any other platform it released on). It ranked 2nd only to Hollow Knight among digital-only releases the two weeks after they released on the US Eshop.

Hollow Knight is exceptionally good, I think Octopath will be too and I've been replaying Overcooked with my wife in anticipation of Overcooked 2. Its a great summer in terms of quality game content.

Just as the posts that pretend that these are brand new releases.

from the OP:

you didn't really think this through, did you?

Tbf, almost all of those are late ports. So if you only have a Switch there's a lot, but if you have another console chances are you've played many of those. Doesn't mean it's not a solid lineup, but yeah.

Probably getting Capitan Todd, never had a Wii U and the demo was nice.

My time is pretty limited and I tend to really enjoy smaller games so this lineup is great for me. I hardly have the time to finish all of the stuff I play on Switch. I still need to go back and finish Battle Chasers and Hollow Knight.

Honestly not if you own other systems, on it's own it's pretty damn good if all you own is a Switch so I guess it comes down to the individual.

Definitely has a lot to play but most were already available on other platforms so unless you own nothing but a switch it's just ok. Octopath is the only thing I am interested in on that list.

As someone who has to cover Switch I really wish they would slow the heck down! It's hell trying to keep up with all this. It's not just a few minor releases either, it feels like every week we have something huge on our plate. I just caught up with Hollow Knight which is my current GOTY next to Celeste.
