I had a feeling this was going to be the action movie to beat this summer. Why's it gotta be two weeks out? It feels like this thing should be releasing tonight!
They're going to be building hype. God of War had several weeks of hype and then the reviews dropped well in advance of release and things really took off from there.
Wanna rewatch the series SOOOOO BAD before this drops, but hate that they split up the 4k UHDs into individual releases :(

I FUCKING ADORE MI2, but thats also because im a John Woo nut.
It narratively weak as hell (which makes sense when the rumors were they were writing it as they were filming), but is it one of the most entertaining to watch and showed just how talented Woo was when given the right material.
Fuck, look at the unrated cut (you can find it on the interwebs) of his american directorial debut, Hard Target. It's an amazingly underrated action film.
I just realized that in all the trailers and such, I don't even remember seeing a glimpse of a big elaborate spy-tech/mask sequence from this movie. The ones in Ghost Protocol (Burj Khalifa) and Rogue Nation (opera) were great, and I assume this one has a set piece like that because a review or two mention masks

MI2 was also the first movie I saw that had real people in it and not "cartoon characters". Loved it.

MI2 is great because of how bad it is. This isn't like some kind of X-Men 3 situation where it's simply terrible and you want to leave the theater.
