Trico has a built-in "trust barometer" and will eventually respond faster to commands if you spend more time petting, cleaning wounds, removing arrows, feeding optional barrels. Basically investing in Trico's needs and putting those above rushing onward will give the optimum results, the whole game is built around this idea of give and take. Ueda spoke about this in the Future Press book, I believe, that how well you treat Trico carries over to NG+ somewhat. It's definitely been my experience that catering to Trico on my first playthrough made certain areas quicker, especially when it comes to Trico dispatching sentinels.

I kept waiting for them to mention them but they never did lol. Nice little upgrade.

Ooo. That's very cool. I kinda assumed that something like this was built in since there was so much gameplay revolving around helping Trico, rather than yourself, it had to mean more than just being a nice thing to do in between jumping.

It could work. In the original 2020 PnP plenty of people are known as "exotics" and they have modified their bodies to be more animalistic than cybernetic. He could walk down the street as a big lizard man just fine.
Oh my God, I had to stop myself from laughing out loud at the second part of And For That Reason. That was amazing.

And For That Reason is the best thing AE has done. It is so absurd and the latest had me rolling like a Bosman.
Cyberpunk is a lot more complex than d&d. It'd be a struggle, I think, especially just learning it for a one-shot.
It really feels like this is the first episode of AFTR that they really leaned into their personas and had fun with it. They've kinda been there before with nods and winks, but here it felt like they were actually channeling the Sharks/Dragons and now I'm sad that there's only one more episode.

Have been reading and watching some of the Octopath Traveler reviews and find myself feeling a bit empty because of the absence of the Easy Allies review. On the plus side, when I get to see Ben's review I will already be quite deep into the game, but on the negative side, Easy Allies should be getting the views now while the game is fresh. It chafes a little that nearly every site in Europe has been able to put up a review along with the big American sites. Given the positivity that Easy Allies have always shown to Octopath Traveler I can't really see a reason why Nintendo wouldn't issue them a review copy. Hope Nintendo take the blinkers off and that this situation is sorted out soon.
Nintendo doesn't like Youtube channels which are not 100% focused on Nintendo (they have their weird program for those channels). That said, I have seen some other channels which aren't 100% Nintendo focused and which did get a review up today (one of those people said he was playing it for a week or so), so I am not sure why EZA didn't get a review copy. It doesn't make sense to me either. I do believe the one I watched is a Canadian channel (which is multiplatform), so I guess there are less somewhat bigger Canadian Youtubers in comparisson to US ones and maybe Nintendo Canada has different rules for this compared to Nintendo USA.
I quickly played an hour, but because my back is killing me (I woke up with a sore back and it got worse through the day) and I took some painkillers (which I honestly don't like using at all), I am way too tired to go on at the moment. I only started the Demo yesterday and didn't finish my 3 hours (I was 2 hours in), so I only played as much as I could have done with the demo, but it seems great from what I have played so far.

Nintendo locked down a bit since some things happened last fall. We're still getting copies, but most of the time not early copies. It hasn't been too much of an issue this year, but Octopath Traveler is one that I think we should have had sooner so I raised the issue with their PR team. They're looking into it, but for now we'll just have to wait and see and keep trying.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that whole thing that happened last year.
Let's hope they can give you guys a review copy as fast as possible as it seems to be quite a long game from what I have read.

It's specifically an issue with NoA so that's why outlets in Europe haven't had issues getting review copies early (as far as I'm aware).
Yeah, it was an incident where somebody from North America who got a review copy leaked that review copy online and Nintendo punishing North American outlets for it.
I am not sure how much they are still doing this, but apparently they still do to some extent.
Between Kyle breaking during And For That Reason and Don at the beginning of the podcast, I am fucking dying.
You guys remember when Kyle figured out The Fractured But Whole pun after like 24 hours? Good times.
I don't know why, but I am not sure it wasn't a bit now that I am watching this again (but maybe that's because I now see most stuff Kyle says as possible bits). It for sure is still funny.

Mulan is an old movie at this point. It did not come out in the last 10 years. In that sense, Ian is realizing how old he is and how time comes for us all.
During the presentation of the game idea, he says "No, what I'm talking about is the most creative insight into the human soul of the last 10 years, and you're already thinking of it: <movie name>." So when Ian says he was expecting Mulan, Kyle corrects him since Mulan is more than 10 years old.
