The first week is a success, but the follow up performance will be limited thanks to shortages. SE/Nintendo/JPN retailers keep repeating some of the same mistakes.

Captain Toad with a stronger than expected debut. Well deserved.

Isn't this much higher than expected? I kept seeing estimates below 100k and closer to 90k. 110k with complete sale out seems like a great number. I wonder how high it could have gone if there had been ample stock

I don't think there is still a supply issue. Numbers are okay given it's the summer. And I would never expect Octopath to be a system seller. It's selling to the core crowd that already own a Switch I would imagine.

Good Octopath debut and I hope it continues to perform well. I have a feeling it can go over 200k and reach new heights for these type of games. Word of mouth will be key here. Might also draw in more 30/40 plus folks who have fond memories of the old RPG days.

Zelda boost is awesome. Seems like it will sell well the next couple of years.

Mario Tennis is doing great too, lets see where it ends up but I have high hopes for that one. The quality of that game is high.

Well I was referring to my personal expectations. Something like 70 or 80k would have been crazy for a game like OT and all its positive buzz on a system like Switch.

A 12% increase is not 'pretty much the same', to be honest.

Good opening for octopath traveler, although possible supply issues could prevent it from doing well in following weeks.
Captain toad switch opening ahead the wiiU version.
Evergreens dominating the rest of the chart.
Switch hardware sales increasing, and ps4 hardware maintaining its previous week's sales.
Overall not a bad week.
