If cable networks can verify it, something like this should be big enough news where they are live after midnight and continuing deep into the night, as they do with other very large news stories.

There's clearly a difference between @'ing a, say, Final Fantasy fan in a news thread about the series, and calling out other users so you can "gotcha" them. C'mon.

I can certainly see how it can be seen as a "gotcha". And maybe it is just a little if im totally honest. But believe it or not im genuinely curious what those that support the admin think about huge bombshells.

Before I used to check out The_Donald to see what the Trump cult was up to, but now I just lurk on Neogaf which became a slightly lighter version of it after the split, but was still much more convenient and a little less deplorable to browse. But even there I've lately seen a shift in dwindling Trump support, previously active account are going silent, people who are Trump supporters saying straight out that this is a bad look for Trump while critical Trump posters are increasing significantly. This is definitely the worst scandal for Trump since the inauguration.
Pretty clear why Trump started trying to discredit the outgoing intel chiefs. They told him things he didn't want to hear. If this were Russia they'd have suffered unfortunate accidents by now.
If you were Trump you'd have made money by just investing a bunch of cash in an index fund and lived off the profits while you played 3S in Japan.

Setting their posts to invisible is not the best solution. After all, if you know to not be roped in by their manipulation then they're powerless against you whether you see them or not. But there are people who don't realize what these posters are doing. At best, these comments ought to be downvoted so that it's hard for people to see them and hence get duped. Second best is that these comments need responses with real information calling out their bullshit. Trump supporters this late in the game are lost causes, but there are still people who don't follow the news at all and rely on the internet shoutbox to learn how the world works. It's a bummer, but I think fighting against this garbage has to become a bit less passive and a bit more active.
If someone is expressing views that are counter to the values of the forum, that person should be dealt with.

It's surprising just how many former intelligence officials will go on TV now and basically admit they didn't think the Trump we all know actually existed, until they saw the summit right in front of their eyes.
