I don't know what that place is you mention.

All I know is I pay attention to people's history on this forum.

I know in my heart that man TRUMP is the worst possible fucking person imaginable. He can go fuck himself which is an activity anyone questioning where my political loyalties lie should pursue as well.

On topic the NYT report proves it.

So in the face of hard evidence, will Glenn Greenwald and certain other 'leftists' continue to downplay that Russia is an active threat to elections and systems of other countries? And also that the GOP as a whole is complicit in it?

Post Trump the western world needs to go full cold war on the Russian ogliarchy in terms of economic punishment and also heavily invest in cybersecurity.
You know he's not

Greenwald is clearly owned by Putin as well, it's just a question of whether he's getting paid or they've got some real bad dirt on him.

If cable networks can verify it, something like this should be big enough news where they are live after midnight and continuing deep into the night, as they do with other very large news stories.

I don't understand why this wouldn't be all over the place by now.

Alrighty then. Feature seems a bit pointless. What is it's intended purpose if not to make posters aware of a thread and the desire to hear their opinion on the discussion?

There's clearly a difference between @'ing a, say, Final Fantasy fan in a news thread about the series, and calling out other users so you can "gotcha" them. C'mon.

On MSNBC they've said it hasn't been independently verified by them.

I imagine once it has they'll be leading with it. It was the top story on the 11th Hour.

The original story dropped pretty late as is. I assume in the morning. This along with Trump agreeing to let Russians interview Americans they don't like will be big news.

It's Trump. Everyone knows he's a liar. I don't think this story really does much to him.

Somewhere
This; All of these Trump supporters on here need to be exposed.

Do this everywhere, by the way. I assume most here do.

Reddit? Check that comment's source. Is it a new account? Maybe registered around... mid 2016? Lots of /r/the_donald activity?

Mark it, ignore them.

We need to be active and aware of misinformation agents.

Most importantly, don't listen to me - do your own investigation on the accounts you see posting.

I can certainly see how it can be seen as a "gotcha". And maybe it is just a little if im totally honest. But believe it or not im genuinely curious what those that support the admin think about huge bombshells.

PM would be a better avenue I suppose. Like I said before I don't want to people to feel harassed for asking their opinions. Even if that sounds completely rediculous that they would feel that way.

I doubt it but over the past few weeks I've started a little mini list of people on the forum who's defended Trump's bullshit in the past. So let's @ them.. This should be fun..

What's up with your boy?

Before I used to check out The_Donald to see what the Trump cult was up to, but now I just lurk on Neogaf which became a slightly lighter version of it after the split, but was still much more convenient and a little less deplorable to browse. But even there I've lately seen a shift in dwindling Trump support, previously active account are going silent, people who are Trump supporters saying straight out that this is a bad look for Trump while critical Trump posters are increasing significantly. This is definitely the worst scandal for Trump since the inauguration.

Pretty clear why Trump started trying to discredit the outgoing intel chiefs. They told him things he didn't want to hear. If this were Russia they'd have suffered unfortunate accidents by now.

Doesn't matter for his die-hard followers. I already heard a crazy woman who really said "I don't care if Russian helped him as long as Hillary lost cuz Hillary is baaaad". Lunatics

Setting their posts to invisible is not the best solution. After all, if you know to not be roped in by their manipulation then they're powerless against you whether you see them or not. But there are people who don't realize what these posters are doing. At best, these comments ought to be downvoted so that it's hard for people to see them and hence get duped. Second best is that these comments need responses with real information calling out their bullshit. Trump supporters this late in the game are lost causes, but there are still people who don't follow the news at all and rely on the internet shoutbox to learn how the world works. It's a bummer, but I think fighting against this garbage has to become a bit less passive and a bit more active.

If someone is expressing views that are counter to the values of the forum, that person should be dealt with.

I'm not sure what branding people who couldn't possibly defend what this treasonous idiot president says accomplishes.

You know when someone posts something bad, right? That should be enough.

It's surprising just how many former intelligence officials will go on TV now and basically admit they didn't think the Trump we all know actually existed, until they saw the summit right in front of their eyes.

Sorry, I wrote off whatever minority percent voted for Trump.

They were a minority. They lucked out with the EC.

I'm working to energize the people I know still have a brain left to understand the danger. To clarify - this means volunteering weekends and some weeknights to make rote fucking phone calls and talk to people. Best I can do in my blue county and state.

World news is better anyway. It reaches the front page whereas politics doesn't.
Politics is on the front page almost every day, sometimes more than once.

Edit: They are on the front page 2 posts down! haha https://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/900u03/fbi_director_says_russian_influence_efforts_are/
On politics it's buried because their rules require them to use the COMPLETE GARBAGE title.
I get why they do that though

Upvote ratio on Reddit went from 96% to 82% in a fucking heartbeat.

Bots must be aware now.
