Looks like it.People are mentioning widescreen; is this proper widescreen or did they stretch everything out? The screenshot on this page makes it look like they adjusted the scrolling and it's actual 16:9 rather than not.
In which way?
They said the final major update, as in they're now done adding features and adapting the port to better fit the PC. Bugfixes for outstanding problems are still not out of the question.
Somewhat proper widescreen (it's Hor+ but Vert-). Nothing is stretched. Some areas which aren't big enough to fit the whole screen have black bars on the left and right.People are mentioning widescreen; is this proper widescreen or did they stretch everything out? There's actually not too much vertically clipped in widescreen. Do try both, though. Some prefer the game exactly how it was. That's neat on the widescreen, would be curious to see which I end up preferring given the vertical trade off.
CT only supports a handful of predefined windowed 4:3 and 16:9 resolutions. Full screen mode will put the game in 16:9 automatically and attempt to stretch it to the display.Does the game support pretty much any arbitrary resolution now? Hoping it supports 4k for sharper scaling on my 4K TV
Overlaid:Above screens look like widescreen cuts off vertical space rather than add horizontal... Or rather, it's a bit of both...

Looks like you gain about twice as much horizontally as you lose vertically - though I'm not sure why they're cropping anything.
There's a couple filters like that already, including one for scanlines, ambient lighting, and more. One guy on Steam has several good examples from around when the game was first launched. The scanlines really helped iron out the tile seams before the unfiltered graphics were made available.Nice one, should be pretty solid then! Maybe can get a Reshade scanline filter on there too
This includes the animated cutscenes from the PS1 version, which is probably the reason for most of the space increase.I sprung for this because it's 50% off and everyone hails it as one of the best RPGs ever (I was too young to appreciate JRPGs in 1995). My only question is this; the SNES cartridge couldn't have been more than 32 MB right? So how on Earth is the Steam download 800+ MB?
