As every stock thread in gaming side, this would probably go well and maintain a rational discussion

Before the stock split that would have been 6000 yen. To put that into perspective, in April 2017 the stock price was around 2000 yen, or 1000 after the split.

In other words, Capcom stock has tripled in value in 16 months.

For me, I feel that Capcom genuinely makes the best games in the world, so it's really great to hear they're doing well, and on the right track! I hope this means many more RE games (and giant Gators) to come! :D

Capcom has been doing amazingly lately. Great PC ports, Actually giving fans what they want (Megman 11, MHXX Switch in the west, RE2 Remake, DMCV), and trying new things (Resident Evil 7, MHW).

Glad to see them doing well, Wish them the best of luck on Megaman, RE2, MHG Switch and DMCV. Ill keep supporting them on PC if they can keep this going.

After RE7, MHW and now with MM11, DMCV and REmake 2, i'm glad things are "slowly" getting better for Capcom.

Not that they were really in a BIG crisis to begin with, but it's good to see their biggest IPs being actually used and praised again in different ways, after so much time. Sad that their fighters took the hit though, i hope they can get better in the near future alongside Dead Rising.

I feel safe to even dream about Onimusha now.

Investors buy on good financial news and sell when they're worried or don't think it'll get better, who would have thought.

Already ended up like 99% of stock threads on era, so no surprise there lol.

Huh, who knew making great games that also interest consumers in the west would pay off for Capcom?

Will be interesting to see how RE2 will do.

Looks like catering MHW to the console fan base instead of a portable one was a genius move from Capcom. I expect the PC release to sell at least a couple million.

Oh shit!

...do you guys think it might have something to do with Monster Hunter World being an incredible success in every platform it's on?

Or does it actually somehow means the game has no legs again?

Too soon to talk about Steam legs. It can still be a failure.

Console-warring concern trolls just keep getting slammed by the return of the Capgods, I wonder how long this will keep going. It's a really fun bonus to all their great games.

This strategy of making great games seems to be paying off for them
If this is a sign of Capcom actually unearthing every last franchise they got but like willing to take their time to like figure out how to evolve them for a new generation, I'm all for it.

That is when you know Capcom is *really* back.

Investors buy on good financial news and sell when they're worried or don't think it'll get better, who would have thought.

Already ended up like 99% of stock threads on era, so no surprise there lol.

The people here literally don't understand how stock works. The people who have been whining about "stupid" investors in the last thread are now blaming "concern trolls" and mocking the "no legs" comments again. I expect the very same people to go hurling insults at investors when it drops more than 10% once more. The people here are for the superiority contest.

Turns out that legs are nice, but selling a fuckton of copies in one fell swoop is also beneficial for a company.

That's right -- which is what makes comments like yours even more inane. If you can acknowledge that a game's sales being frontloaded doesn't necessarily mean it's a failure, then why are you (and many others) so offended at people talking about it? Infinity War has the worst legs out of all Marvel movies this year (2.6 multiplier for DOM), but that doesn't mean it's doomed. Investors sold stock because they didn't it would go any higher (success won't be sustained). It doesn't mean that they hate Capcom or think Capcom is a failure. People buy/sell stocks to make money. So they're simply selling because they think they'll make the most out of their investment at that time. Then new investors (short term ones) are buying in because of the PC success. It drops due to unexpected news from China, but it'll rise again in time. Then it'll drop when the PC sales die off because investors will have the same reasoning again (that there are no more legs left). It's such a normal and mundane action, but people get so caught up over it.
