I wouldn't be surprised if we NEVER hear from the man ever again.

I told ya'll a few pages back- no one plagerizes "just once" theres usually many examples! It's a habit more than a singular temptation.

Man, when this story first broke, I assumed the guy was up against a deadline and made an impossible, gut-wrenching decision. But nope, he's just been doing this shamelessly and constantly since forever.

There are definitely a couple of lines that seems to have originated from the Polygon review. But the most blatant one, comes in his closing paragraph (which is the one that sounded the most weird one when I posted about it):

Polygon
"more people will be able to relive two of the best hack-and-slash games of the last decade."

Filip
"allowed me to relive some of the most exhilarating, action-packed, hack-and-slash moments from the last decade of gaming"

Again, in the same chronological order. I think this one is lifted. Why would Filip specifically say "allow me to relive"? He never played the Wii U Bayo 2, and why use that specific phrasing?
And why say "the last decade"? Bayo 2 did not come out in the last decade.
This guy has a serious problem regarding his "own experience". He always steal the sentence that includes the personal experience of the original author. What is wrong with him ?

Every time I see your avatar I think it is Pepsiman (but trust me, that's a good thing)

Wow. This really never ends!

For being his passion and career, he sure doesn't seem to enjoy writing about video games. Seems like just an excuse to be on camera and get his name out there for as little thought / effort as possible.

Manipulation like this combined with a complete lack of a conscience is unsettling. I feel bad for everyone impacted by his actions.

Lmao Jesus Christ. This will never end.

This has to be a fucking mental illness because it takes more effort to change around plagiarized words to make them not look plagiarized versus just writing your own damn stuff. Psychopathic stuff.

That Bayonetta 2 review sure looks lifted in context of the others. I think it is safe to assume anything he did has a very strong chance of containing lifted copy.

Otherwise, the two games will remain largely identical to their older counterparts. But at a Los Angeles press event on Wednesday, I was treated to a bit of Bayonetta 2 on the Switch console, and was pleasantly surprised by how much it holds up and by how good it looks on a 60-inch TV. The increased frame rate allows for smoother gameplay, so you can dodge attacks with relative ease and finish off enemies with your chainsaw boots. I know a lot of people would've hoped for 1080p and 60fps, but even at 720p, it looks great.

vs.

In regards to the amount of content included, both games seem to have remained virtually identical to their previous counterpart consoles. Despite the game's lower resolution, they both looked absolutely stunning on the 60-inch TV I played on, and the increased frame rate provided a much smoother play experience which made my time with the game much more enjoyable as a whole. A lot of us were expecting 1080p/60 fps for this one, but even while running at 720p, it still manages to look fantastic.

in order:
-compare to wii u counterpart
-playing on 60 inch tv
-improved framerate
-expected 1080p@60fps

Guys, help me here:

I think Filip used an article from Polygon about Bayonetta 2, but as I'm very tired I do not know if I read it correctly

Polygon: Feb 2 https://www.polygon.com/2018/2/2/16...ta-2-switch-port-preview-release-date-trailer
With the Bayonetta series finally available on the Switch, more people will be able to relive two of the best hack-and-slash games of the last decade.

Filip: Feb 15 http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/02/14/bayonetta-2-for-nintendo-switch-review
Playing through Bayonetta 2 on Nintendo Switch allowed me to relive some of the most exhilarating, action-packed, hack-and-slash moments from the last decade of gaming.

Polygon
Bayonetta 2 will also feature upgraded amiibo support. Obviously the Bayonetta amiibo will work, but players can also unlock costumes based on other Nintendo characters with their corresponding amiibo.

Filip

Other new features for the Switch version of Bayonetta 2 come in the form of amiibo support. Which you'll now be able to use to unlock the same Nintendo themed costumes from the Wii U version. The main unlocks come down to Samus, Fox, Link, Peach, Daisy, and both Bayonetta Smash Bros.

----
Polygon article vs Filip talking about changes:

Polygon Feb 2, 2018, 8:30am EST
Bayonetta 1 and 2 are coming to the Nintendo Switch for the first time this month, bringing the two hack-and-slash classics together for the first time since the Wii U. The Switch versions don't feature the most significant changes over the originals — but that's not a bad thing.

Filip 5 Feb 2018 9:35 AM PST
Bayonetta is back and better than ever on Nintendo Switch. With both the original and sequel launching together later this month on the young hybrid console, the Switch versions of the games don't feature too many noticeable differences from the original — but trust me, that's a good thing.
Sweet Jesus, it just doesn't stop. Nice find.

Can bet that his career isn't over despite all this blatant plagiarism. Some people in this industry have done worse and still make money out of it.

The first entries seem like a huge stretch, probably every review of Bayo 2 has sentences like that... the last sentence is definitely damning though.

Yeah, that is why at first (the final sentence was edited later)I tried to be cautious about it, while I read the rest.

Forbes:

Now we have evidence that he did more plagiarism while working for IGN. What they will do ?

LOL at the Gaf and Polygon incidents. This is unreal.

And the Bayonetta 2 stuff is actually for IGN. IGN, maybe consider taking down that article. Sorry this man put you through all this.

So Flip taunts the internet to find more examples knowing there are more examples of him doing this out there knowing that he was already found out and instead of apologizing and just fessing up he tries to spin it and now has irreparably damaged his reputation.

What a fucking dumb-ass. Just fucking apologize sincerely and move on with your life.

It doesn't even make sense. The game doesn't have more features than the original but trust me, it's a good thing? How the hell?

So here I am wondering "why the heck is this thread still going"? I should've figured after the Samus Returns review that there would be other instances, which is how is ALWAYS works with plagiarists.

I just cannot understand for the life of me why someone who plagiarizes would challenge an actual journalist to find instances of plagiarism. He was basically challenging Schreier's integrity with that shot at him and Kotaku. It'd be like Barry Bonds mocking investigative journalists and asking them to take a blood sample. You have to imagine that whatever sympathy he had at IGN has morphed into pure rage and disgust.

I think the last paragraph of the Forbes articles should be pinned in the OP and on top of each page, in case someone coincidentally comes here to post 'why are you guys still talking about this?':

If it seems like I or others in the industry are piling on Miucin, I don't think that's the case. This is a major story in an industry frequently accused of "ethical" issues that mostly turn out to be nonsense, but this is an actual, huge journalistic ethics issue from a staffer at the biggest gaming site in the world, and deserves to be spotlighted as such.

I'd also like to apologize to MotionTwin, the developer of Dead Cells. It sucks so that their game got caught in the middle of this controversy, because it really is a great game and a lot of people worked very hard on it for a long time, so I hope that it gets the recognition that it deserves for the right reasons.

If I was the developer I wouldn't mind this drama, it's practically free advertising.
