Yup. Our president is a racist fuckhole who is completely unabashed about his racism. Why should we be expected to just let it wash off our backs? Her behavior is so normalized that white people think there's no consequence for doing this anymore, which is why every 3 weeks, we get another story about someone shocked and surprised when they're called out and made a shining example of why racists are bad.
I think that's the most we can hope for. People like this are never going to stop being racists, all we can do is make them too afraid to spew their hatred in public. They've been emboldened, now they need to be knocked down a few pegs.
I hope whoever hit her didn't hurt their knuckles.

I would further theorize that's to assuage the deep guilt of knowing that the continuance of white supremacy is indefensible and thus the mere potential that black folks would be justified in snapping is in itself a Lovecraftian nightmare for these folks. It's like a really long and tiring rendition of Carrie, except we haven't gotten to prom night yet.
Yeah at this point, white America is out of excuses. We've already taken the high road. We already live in peace and try to live in harmony with people who hate us. We already put up with violence (and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise: Slurs, epithets, racist rhetoric. This shit is not just words. It's violence.) Take a chance if you want to use the N-word, but expecting black people not to lash out and further acting like they're in the wrong is nonsense.

Violence is very rarely - if ever - a solution to a problem. That said, you can't expect to say vile racist shit like that without consequence.
I really think it's a pure example of white privilege that makes people act this way. You would think that this woman would have had a sense of self-preservation, even as a racist. This isn't the 1950s and 60s. She gambled that she could call someone the n-word without consequences, and she lost that bet.
