I'm so happy for Kiki. To think, just a year ago, she dreaded the hardcourt season and was actually close to quitting professional tennis altogether. Now look at her: defeating the world nr 1, together with five other top 10 players over the last two weeks, to win her first title on hardcourt.

That Drake song must have really inspired her

This is what I expected, but I'm ok with Djokovic finally getting that last big tournament.

One of the worst performances from Fed in a while. Double faults at critical moments, horrible errors, weak mentality. It's been a rough year post Rotterdam. Including IW and the Halle finals, that's 3 finals where he just seems out of it. My USO expectations are pretty low.

Same. He has not been very clutch this year.

The draw will be interesting for the US Open. Rafa and Novak will be favourites hopefully they are on opposite sides

He's 37.

Last year was just a exception in his 30s. He ain't won the US open for 10 years, I doubt that was going to change this year. Last year was his best shot to do it. But now Djokovic is back. Nadal is also playing at a better level than Federer currently.

Halep has accepted a wildcard into this weeks Connecticut Open. She has made it to the finals of the last 2 tournaments so I figured surely she would take the week leading up to the USOpen off. I know she's very fit but this seems like a bad decision.

Meh, in the grand scheme of things, those are pretty irrelevant.

More from ATP:

There are many words that could describe what Novak Djokovic did on Sunday when he captured his first Western & Southern Open title, but one stands out: historic.

Djokovic completed the Career Golden Masters, becoming the first player to win all nine ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events. The Serbian has now accomplished virtually everything a tennis player can in their career, reaching the peak of the ATP Rankings, triumphing at the Nitto ATP Finals, winning all four Grand Slams and now capturing each of the Masters 1000 trophies.

The Laver Cup teams are going to be:

Team Europe: Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev, Grigor Dimitrov, Novak Djokovic, David Goffin and Kyle Edmund

Team World: Juan Martin del Potro, Kevin Anderson, John Isner, Diego Schwartzman, Jack Sock and Nick Kyrgios

Seems pretty balanced.

Wawrinka vs Dimitrov 1st round

Murray could face del Potro in the 3rd round. that is if he doesn't pull out at the last minute again

Other possible notables aside from what miserable mentioned:

Venus and Serena possible R3 and winner could play Halep, Azarenka-Sloane R3, Kyrgios-Fed R3, Fed-Fognini/Chung R4, Cilic-Goffin R4, Nishikori-Schwartzman R3, Tsitsipas-Coric R3 winner playing Delpo in R4, Raonic-Dimitrov/Stan R3

Halep scares no one. Whoever wins the possible Serena/Venus match could easily beat her.

Can't help but laugh at some of the accusations in the Serena thread of "you clearly never watch tennis" to people I see in here all the time lol

I guess the race is on for year end number 1 now. Nadal is rumoured to be out for a month, so it will most likely go down to the wire.
