Okay, so from left to right and top to bottom:
  • Kuroiro ("kuro" means "black" and "iro" means "color" so just look at him and you'll remember)
  • Neito Monoma
  • Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu
  • Bondo (err, no idea what that means but it's easy enough to remember and he was named during the sports festival)
  • Yui Kodai (she's cute and quiet! "ko" means "small" and "dai" means "great" or "big" and her quirk lets her embiggen or shrink)
  • Manga Fukidashi (come on, he's a freaking speech bubble and his name is "manga," you can't not remember that)
  • Komori ("ko" means "small" and "mori" means "forest," and she's got mushroom-shaped hair and is mushroom-themed because that's her quirk)
  • Shishida ("shishi" means lion, like Sasuke's "Shishi Rendan" attack, and he looks like a lion so that should be easy)
  • Tokage (yeah, I got nothing but her name's easy enough to remember; she has a lizard-related quirk, and I think her name might have something to do with reptiles... I feel like it does)
  • Kamakiri (if I recall correctly, that means "scythe," so just remember Temari's wind scythe attack thing)
  • Hiryu Rin (he's Chinese so y'all better remember him! bias aside, "hiryu" means "flying dragon" and "Rin" is easy to remember)
  • I have no idea who the last one is

Ohh, nice coincidence then! I really thought it was Vlad, haha.
You remembered more than me
About Tokage, her quirk is autotomize, that is the thing that lizards do where they amputates a part of their body to save the rest
So she probabley has a regeneration quirk

Only because I reviewed a bit! Reading their character names and quirks is gonna make it a lot easier for me to remember now too.

Oh, that's an interesting power... With the potential to get really graphic. Oof. Makes me think of Zeno from Akatsuki no Yona.

What do you guys think will happen in the battle training? Assigned teams fighting each other or students making their own teams? Free-for-all, perhaps? Well, that last one's unlikely but it'd be interesting.

On one hand, I want to see Deku blow everyone away by showing how much he's improved because the last they (excluding the internship quartet) saw him in action was during the license exam. He's not only gotten up to 8% but 20% as well as begun using long-ranged attacks that don't break his fingers now. On the other hand... Of course, I want to see everyone else in action. I want to see 1-B in action as well as Shinso, but I also really wanna see Momo, Jiro, Mina, Sero, etc. showing us what they can do now. I'm not gonna mention Shoji cause they'll probably still just only make him do recon, lol.

I want to see todoroki fight without being handicapped or impaired. I wonder what that looks like.

I'd like it to be teams split between classes. Just having 1-b versus 1-a would be predictable.
Pair Monoma with Bakugo for maximum class disruption.
That would be really interesting! It would also be in line with how they should be able to work on the fly with other heroes whose quirks they're not aware of yet. Monoma with Bakugo would actually be really interesting given how well Bakugo can utilize other people's quirks, so I wonder if he's thought of what to do if there are essentially two of him. Bakugo's quirk seems to be easy to pick up too, judging from Monoma's use of it. It's just a matter of getting creative at it and increasing your resistance to the blowback.

Wanna see Deku kick ass just cause Daddy Might is gonna be watching.

But at the same time I hope Shinso hasn't gotten a major buff. That would kinda invalidate how hard everyone in the hero course has worked. Between internships etc. I would like to see a lack of experience in play I guess is what I'm trying to say.

man, dabi showing up a few chapters ago was such a tease
Yeah, lol, he was almost only there just to tease the theory.

Good point... On the other hand, he's had some personal training straight from Aizawa, so he should at least be competent. Aizawa telling 1-A not to embarrass themselves in front of him gives me the impression that Aizawa expects a lot of Shinso and thinks he's gonna do really well against them. Which... yeah, would undermine all the things 1-A has gone through.

Pretty much. I hope it's pulled off fairly for both Shinso and everyone else. Cause I would like to see him in the hero course.

But at the same time I doubt Shinso has faced any yakuza leaders like a Overhaul in recent months. If some kid in the General course can receive training on the side and can still go toe to toe with kids in the hero course this far into the school year. I might start questioning whether the U.A. hero course is really all it's made out to be.

I think the best way to do it would be to result in Shinso losing but showing the hero course students still struggling against him.

I don't mind if Shinso does well or better than a lot of the students. Sure the UA hero program is top tier and that has been emphasized many times in the series with how the kids relate to other schools and villains. However, Shinso's performance in the Sports Festival also made it clear where he stood compared to hero students. If he made it to Top 16 at that point, then I'll have no problem with him doing better than most 1-A and 1-B students in the coming chapters, especially with his training with Aizawa.

That's in a more general situation, though. In battle situations, Shinso can't really do much. All he's got is the training with Aizawa, which I expect will really surprise the students, but the others still have better experience and combat-oriented quirks.

Shinso also doesn't have the knowledge of his quirk hidden anymore. In the sports festival no one really knew his quirk until it was too late. Therefore allowing him to have an advantage over others. This time that's not the case.

Eager to see how his new equipment amplifies his quirk.

Did they say if quirks stop developing for characters? Like couldn't he develop some Brainwave beam.
They're like muscles in that you can learn to do different things with them so long as they're within its nature. I doubt you can develop a quirk so much to the point that you're doing completely different things with it or in this case, activating it in totally new ways. That's almost like if Bakugo was able to detonate with his mind, I guess? Kinda like Sparky-Sparky Boom-Man. Heh. That'd be awesome, actually.

Team battle with a lot of unpredictable teams
Give me things like Sero and Jirou, Kaminari and Tetsu², Awase and Iida etc

Yeah, that's a big factor too. Although, Aizawa proves that knowing quirks like theirs doesn't mean they're going to be beaten already... So it really will depend on how good he is with his hand-to-hand now, the "scarf," as well as his new mask.

Yes please! That would be really awesome and it would also fit with how recent exams and whatnot have been geared towards preparing for events like Kamino. More spontaneous things would require random heroes working together, so creating random pairs would be great.

That rules out Momo and Shoto working together, though... Oh well.

I can't wait to see what that mask is for. Like is it a voice modulator, does it amplify his voice, etc. Questions, questions, questions.

That would kinda shitty of Aizawa was teaching Shinso hand to hand and not his regular students.

Which I still find highly weird is not an actual class in a hero course.

It's the kind of thing that would make the world more believable but also make characters more homogeneous and so I can see why it's tricky to implement that. There's a lot of times in fiction where I'm like "yo why isn't this taught to everyone" lol.
(It's actually something I consider to be a strength in World Trigger, another Jump battle manga, where it manages to have characters feel somewhat unique in their fighting styles despite all of them having access to the same pool of weapons/devices/etc. and there's even a high tier character driven to develop techniques that can be taught to everyone and heighten the overall skill level of their fighters)

MHA Episode 55
Fell a bit behind. Tough break for high IQ girl that she couldn't consider the possibility of an attack. And then was shocked when the squad took three seconds to kick the door in to check on Momo instead of ditching her.

Iida is great. His reaction to Aoyama's line was hilarious. Guessing the alright dance is a gif somewhere.

Really don't remember much from this arc though I guess some of this might be anime original. The music in this show never gets old for me.

What's the point of the extra episode next week? I thought it was to advertise the movie, but that's been out for a couple of weeks now.

Woah! 11-minute trailer showing off the characters. Pretty cool. Tokoyami looks silly just floating there while Dark Shadow attacks, though, lol. Still, looks much better than I expected!

Shoto's section starts at 4:54 and Momo's at 6:20.

While I still don't like that Dabi is a "trick type" character meant for setting up traps and stuff, his ultimate move kinda fits now with that flame ring he surrounded himself, his old man Endeavor, and Hawks in.

Still hate that he doesn't have his villain costume... It doesn't make sense when Toga has hers. Maybe they just didn't want to animate his coat? Really annoying if that's the reason. Ugh.

I only skimmed through it and Netflix doesn't have anything past season 1 of JJBA so I don't understand the reference yet...
Too bad no shoot style and Black ankh

Is it me or does Dabi look weird at places
Yeah, Shoot Style would have been great for a game since it'll differentiate Deku from All Might.

Not sure what you're referring to regarding Dabi, though.

JJBA is on Crunchyroll and VRV if you want to check it out. The series is a ton of fun and definitely worth checking out.
No need to tell me it's fun, I desperately want to catch up! I know it's on CR, but I don't have a premium (I will not settle for 480p, lol) account so I'm trying to wait and see if Netflix will put it up before the year ends or something. If not, then I can do the free trial on CR, I suppose.

Didn't really need neijre there, but that's a nitpick. I'm hyped to see the completed version of Class 1-A's performance.

Hey, I'm not against people buying me stuff! I'll maybe do it soon once I've run out of stuff to watch, though that's a long list so it'll probably take me a while, haha.

Sadly, though... season 4 isn't available even on Crunchyroll due to regional restrictions. At least 2 and 3 are!
GODDAMN THAT IS FUCKING AMAZING.
