Kashyyyk is quickly becoming my favorite GA map. The enormous scale, the visuals.... it's awesome. And it's a super fun in a starfighter.
Dogfighting between the trees, evading enemy ships by flying through the battle cruiser. And say what you will about the prequels, they had some great starfighter designs.

Is there everytime a bit of aim assist on? Even when i disable aim assist i feel that the aim follows the target for a brief moment..

Is it just me or is the foliage system a step back from BF2015? It straight up looks ugly when looking into the distance.

Playing on PS PRO.

Noticed the same, but it's more or less the same quality as the Scariff DLC BF 2015, which was lower quality than the base game.

On another note who the fuck designed Kamino. I was so happy we finally got the barracks and the other point as the droids only to find out that there is a next phase with a single point and two small entry points to get there, shit is literally unwinnable as the droids.

The amount of people I see get a hero in GA assault and then just run in and die in 30 seconds is amazing. Got to play smarter with heroes in this game.

Went on 20 plus kill streak with Maul yesterday just hanging around by the objecting and using cover.

I am hoping that the later DLC stuff adds some more variation for the skill cards. Some weapon variations would also be nice. Unlocking all these attachments takes damn ages.

Jakku is a terrible GA map and heavies need a nerf.
I'm surprised it didn't get one after the beta.

The default blaster for the Republic assault class felt like it needed a boost after the beta, yet it still feels as weak as before.

I've only dabbled in Arcade and a few Blast matches to get started. A few annoyances but I'm enjoying myself so far.

People need to crouch more haha.
Funnily enough crouching actually allows for enemies to get headshots on you, at least randomly. The hitbox is a bit weird.
The heavies shield can be kinda weird really, it's not the "I win" button many make it out to be, unless maybe in a total 1v1 situation where you don't have a good close combat weapon ready

Btw, sniping down all enemy starfighters with the bolt speed IQA11 continues to be amazing.
Depending on the map I usually end up being able to play as a hero after about 3-4 minutes if I want to and I have been getting constant "hacker!" accusations towards me in chat
Absolutely hilarious.

Ive been playing a lot during the weekend and after a while I started wondering: How are you supposed to get cards without buying crates?
I don't care about lootboxes in general, so I tend not to waste time with them and I was avoiding them even if, for now, they can be bought without spending money.
But apart from the crates I don't seem to find another way to obtain cards. Am I correct in this?
I'm still running with every class cardless or with just one random green card obtained by completing the campaign, and I feel a little gimped.
As for buying crates, I don't think I earn enough credits to be buying crates on a regular basis: I've playe pretty much all weekend, completed the campaign and I barelyhad enough to unlock Darth Vader and some other cheap Hero
Am I doing something wrong here (apart from being rubbish at the game)?

You have to buy crated to get crafting materials (the ones you get from challenges are too sparse) to then craft the cards you want.
You can also get cards for each class by doing that classes challenges and unlocking special crates for them.
The lootbox system isn't about pay to win or anything, you are supposed to use it, real money or not.
Also, don't buy trooper crates, they are bad value for your credits.

My kills have gone up ever since I equipped the Improved Combat Shield starcard (highest level card). It's amazing.

Ok, thanks for the information!! I will look into acquiring the crates then.
Still, I think I'm earning way too few credits to be buying them often :(

You get credits when you rank up as well and you get them from challenges you can do.
Try to do a couple arcade missions each day as well for the 100 credits per until the cooldown kicks in.
if you play Galactic Assault you will always get between 120-350 credits, no matter how badly you do, it just depends how long the round goes.

So, what is the process for unlocking the later hero units? Is it just a milestone thing or in crates?

I've never tried Arcade mode, I will look into it.
Thanks a lot :)

Yeah, just the locked ones. So you just buy them with credits? I expected a more interesting way.

It's still pretty interesting in the sense that you have to stop spending the credits you've saved up after a million rounds of grinding on loot crates which means you haven't progressed on your troopers/starfighters at all and instead spend them on Heroes which cost a lot of credits.

God progression in this game is so bad.

Bummer to hear man, I have been having opposite where I feel I'm starting to really get the flow and how players play putting me top 3 most matches. Hopefully you'll turn it around.
Yeah man, I won't be able to consistently put in enough time to REALLY get gud but hoping I get with the flow a little more. Might try officer and specialist classes a bit more too and try to be more tactical and less aggressive. Don't get me wrong, still having fun. My "if I don't win I can't have fun" days for gaming are far behind me.

I also think that kills in the mode as a trooper go towards weapon kill unlock requirements.

Huh. Can anyone confirm this? If so I need to get on this. Already over the bottom level weapons. 500 kills online will take a while with my mediocre skills and limited play time.

Rebel air vehicles in maps with AI ships or poor ground cover are broken OP.

Y-wing on Hoth, X-wing / A-wing on Takodana and Jakku feels like cheating almost. You can effortlessly maintain air superiority and do strafing runs for multiple ground kills between fighter waves and rack up enough battlepoints for 2 consecutive heroes.

Try to do that in a TIE fighter and you get knocked out of the sky by some dude with the 2nd specialist gun. God forbid you waste the points to call in a TIE interceptor and discover the wonders of the primary weapon overheating almost immediately and doing next to no damage. Meanwhile the X-wing and Y-wing can refill half of their health with a push of the button and the Y-wing's ion cannon will ruin your day if you even try to pursue. Hell, even the freaking 200 point snowspeeder on Hoth can give a TIE fighter trouble.

So much balancing needs to be done still. It's pretty bad.

Oh boy, finally managed to pick up the AT-AT in Hoth and it was brutal. Got so many points that I could use Vader twice in the same game. Ended up with 45 eliminations and +20k points lol

YMMV, of course, but I started on the PC trial but eventually bought on ps4. The graphics are obviously much better on PC than the ps4 pro, but I'm having a lot more fun on ps4. There are way too many snipers on PC.
Hmm, that's actually a good point. I'm not that good with a controller but I'm not a ninja on pc either and I'd probably be destroyed on pc :)

Nah it isn't that bad. First game A-wings were like gods on release. You could get ridiculous streaks in them. Tie's do ok in this game in my experience.

Y-Wings are my favorite Specialist target :D So slow and big, very easy to hit

I finally got around to starting the campaign this weekend and I really enjoy it so far! The characters are pretty solid and the levels are visually stunning. My only complaint is a bit of a spoiler, so don't read if you aren't done or at least halfway through:

Story-wise, I didn't feel like Iden's change of heart/allegiances was "earned". We barely spend any time at all as part of the empire before she decides that they're just "too evil" compared to what they apparently were before.

I'm not sure on that, I don't think they do, but it might be worth looking into.
I am sure I had a load of kills left to get something on heavy and after playing arcade and getting kills, it completed. I might be utterly wrong but if someone could check, that would be great. Might just be me going mental.
