This is war.
I'm all for diversity but stop fucking ruining muh red hear grills. T.T
What? Seth as sebastian? You high?
What? Seth as sebastian? You high?
Orlando Jones for Sebastian.
Seriously tho, someone that can handle a caribbean dialogue."AHUHHUHUHHH under the sea! I'm as high as can be! AHUHUHUHUH!"
Why? "Not a good actress" is just a dog whistle for "not white".
Eh. I'm tired of her. She's always already going to be playing a red head in Spider man.
Also, I don't get how some white people can be bothered by this, Zendaya is as much white as she is black.
Fucking weird.
I see only the "response" post there.Lmfao the fuck bruh?? People are really trying to put science into a movie about a fucking mermaid who talks to fish lmfao
No complaints here and TLM is my absolute favorite of the Disney princess films. I don't think I've ever heard her sing though.
And there's no way she can sing the iconic song and do it justice
It's a cartoon disney princess world. What the fuck is wrong with people?
How about Rosie? She can sing, she's been on Broadway. You know if Roseanne didn't come out as loony bin lady, she'd be my choice for Ursula
What does your opinion that she's a mediocre actress have to do with her being PoC?I guess it's time to give mediocre poc actresses some roles too.
Zendaya said in an interview not long ago that she told her agent that if a casting call specified a white woman for a role to send her in for the audition so she can steal it LOL. Honestly a queen.
I see some are already at the stage where they are calling anyone who disagrees with the casting a racist. Why? "Not a good actress" is just a dog whistle for "not white".
I think the concern is that Disney will not dye her hair in the same way they didn't dye it for her role in Spider-Man. However, I never understood the complaints given that Zendaya's MJ is not Mary Jane Watson.Oh my god I love Zendaya so I'm 100% happy. I've always felt connected to TLM because of my name but I always wished that there were more people who looked like me in the films I watched as a child.
And with all of the weird people asking about her hair, y'all do know actors dye their hair or wear wigs for roles? Did people make this much of a fuss over Lily James' hair for Cinderella?
Obviously it depends on the movie. It doesn't matter what a mermaid looks like in this movie. If I'm doing a story about a racist cop seeking redemption or a movie about Julius Caesar then casting would matter more.
lmao
Seriously, though: good for Zendaya and on-screen diversity, but I fully expect this to follow the Beauty and the Beast 2017 template: hideous "realistic" CG designs for the supporting characters, and a running time bloated from 83 minutes to over two hours by the addition of extraneous subplots and forgettable new songs.
Not a fan based on Homecoming. And there's no way she can sing the iconic song and do it justice. I also don't see her pulling off the bubbly and passionate personality, not to mention the physical acting required when she's mute.
Don't really care about the diversity to be honest. I just want someone who can pull off the role. Clearly having the look isn't a necessity as Emma Watson could not pull off Belle in Beauty and the Beast.
You know if Roseanne didn't come out as loony bin lady, she'd be my choice for Ursula
They already backed out with the hard fakeout in Homecoming. This will probably end with her being revealed to be not-Ariel like they'll just call her A throughout the whole movie or some shit.
He's more than 10 years older than her. That would be really weird.
So where was the Disney movie set in? Was it Europe, cause there's this young looking Prince dude, who had an American accent? wtf? Maybe he's European but raised in Calfiornia?
Also there's a crab with a Jamaican accent. So he was born near Jamaica, and then somehow swam to whereever Ariel lives?
Let's not even begin to talk about the physics of talking underwater and the fact everyone speaks English like it's Guardians of the Galaxy.
