How do you like your puddles?

  • The entire game should take place inside a huge puddle

  • As big as Insomniac's artists want them to be

  • As deep as my knowledge of game development

  • I prefer oceans tbh

  • Don't go chasing Waterfalls

it's an obvious downgrade, i dont understand people here trying to deny that with jokes, really patetic imo... the game still great visually but the downgrade is real.

Yikes

Super gross of them to mislead like that. I guess I won't be picking it up after all

Wow, huge downgrade, not even up for debate.

Nothing to get pissy about but it's an obvious downgrade. The developers lying about it is kinda suspect though.

Nope. If they advertise the game as looking a certain way, they shouldn't be mad when people don't buy the game. Nobody is saying anybody is owed anything. They are saying people have the right to refuse to buy something based on false advertisement

Biggest downgrade since Watch Dogs

I don't recall the game looking so bad in its initial showcase. So its not just the puddle that got downgraded?

Man, the Digital Foundry thread for this is going to be quite something, going by the number of dismissive posts in here. It's very interesting. A downgrade is a downgrade, your feelings on how it reflects on those bringing them up is beyond the point of discussion.

Obvious downgrade is obvious.

So many people so confident and so outraged that Spider-man was downgraded because of a puddle screenshot. The developers lied! False advertisement. People wont' buy the game.

Lol entire pieces of render tech have been removed from the game

"Entire pieces of render tech" just ... removed. Just like that.

This thread will be great to revisit when the next downgrade (supposed) hits.

You were right. This thread was great to revisit.

It does look like the E3 trailer was misleading or had an artistic change, but as long as the game is good then no big deal.

Personally i think the game looks great. Not sure i would have noticed puddles out of all things to be completely honest. Whatever, if people want to find something to complain about, i guess go for it.

I would like to add this one in particular.

So what happens when people get the game and it's not as good looking as the promo pieces? Who will eat crow?

Either you're trolling or just incredibly dense

There are many games I think will be great that I don't buy. Whether it's not my type of game, or doesn't look visually impressive to me, or I think it would be better to wait for a price cut. I think many fighting games are action ones may be great but I don't have any interest in playing as I'm not a fan of the genre. Spider-Man is no exception. PErhaps when it's $10-15 I'll buy it.

I don't care about your buying habits. I take issue with you calling it an apparent downgrade, especially after the clarification from Insomniac and a 30 minutes analysis video from Digital Foundry.
