How new? Kobayashi San no maid dragon is a work of art if she's more on the mature end. Koi to uso is a decent romance from last season. Anything more on her interest aside from shoujo? Can't think of many solid pure shoujo in recent memory.

I mean does she have a sub to something?
you could get something physical, or you could just get her a year sub to like funimation if she likes dubs, or crunchy if she likes subs.
or VRV (though only sell $25 gift cards so would have to get a few) if she likes both.
there is also highdive for sentai dubs and subs (well some of them) but that doesn't have an easy gift option.

if you are aiming for a physical series, you should find out what they have already. though I imagine they don't own skip beat, as that one just came out :3

Did they start production immediately after S2 ended lol? I was kinda expecting to see it in fall or something. Maybe only 1 cour again?

I imagine it will be 2 cour again.
this was when I was expecting it.

ideally they are going with the production aiming for 24-26 episode seasons each year, starting in the spring.
with that they can adapt 2 chapters per episode, and never need any filler.

It's similar to how Major got adapted and it was great.

Presumably if they take it all the way up to the Hero Provisional License Exam or
Deku and Bakugou's rematch
they can push it to two cours again.

Oh yeah I forgot to comment about that. First I was surprised the story went there, but I was ready to roll with it, and being Yuasa I didn't expect a simple retreat in the last second to hetero-norm. Hell, it actively harmed the Don Underwear character and his love story, if after all his obsession with her ideal girl, she is forgotten in half a second and goes with another one at the snap of a finger.

I think it's unfortunate that they represented this by playing with gender in the fashion they did, but I do think the general gist of what the scene was doing plays into the general theme of the movie and the point of the character. Most of the cast, including Sempai, have built up weird sophistic arguments to themselves about why they need to act in the way they do to achieve their goals, or about what their goal actually is. Underpants never actually had an obsession with an ideal girl, rather he had convinced himself that the nature of that one specific moment meant that had to be his ideal girl. The concept is supposed to be entirely preposterous, as much as Sempais scheme to woo the Black Haired Girl is not to be taken as something which will actually be successful.

Reading around it sounds like it was likely idol dvds with girls of 10-15 years old, with him outright admitting he likes some things.
but on the flip side up until a few years ago the material he was caught with wasn't actually illegal in japan. It is now, and he will be prosecuted for such things, but because it's only been illegal for a short while, his public image in Japan might not be tarnished that much and he may be able to continue. granted I don't know how accurate the information I am reading is.

worst case we still have his solid original kenshin manga and his alright Buso Renkin series. Or at least I still do, as I never have too much of a problem separating the person from the art they have created.

If you are referring to me, I never actually said my own personal views on the matter aside from that I will find it interesting to follow. I said his public image likely won't be harmed that much partially because it wasn't even illegal a few years ago.

I mean, it's clearly bad that he has such materials, as at the very least he has helped fund such crimes, but there really isn't much anyone can do that would make me stop appreciating the art they have created. They are two separate things to me.

it could come out that Akira Toriyama was discovered to be a mass murder secretly funding terrorists groups, and I will still watch dragon ball related stuff and play dragon quest games.

Pretty sure they've already announced the cancellation of the manga.

Also, the term "idol" covers an awful lot of ground and the use of it in English articles about this likely trivialises the circumstances surrounding this given the far narrower view it tends cover elsewhere.

as far as I have seen it's only been put on hiatus, not outright cancelled.
and yeah I know the idol stuff covers a lot of ground, especially since that doesn't mean that sexual intercourse stuff wasn't on the videos. But I mean it's not a good thing he had child pornography either way, no matter what degree of violation of child rights were contained on the videos.

Shimabukuro came back from his scandal and even got a mega popular hit out of it, so I'm not entirely sure that Watsuki's career is done, although it should be. This is seriously disgusting stuff.

That was fifteen years ago before he even had a hit. Watsuki is a well known author in and outside Japan.

Media will destroy you more easily then. Not that I'm downplaying Shimabukuro's conviction, but this seems like an entirely different beast.

Edit: I forgot Shimabukuro had a big hit even before Toriko...

Well that's upsetting. Fairly big fan of Kenshin myself. Definitely catches me off guard since his work is far tamer than other manga when it comes to fan service. Most any of these reveals about creators doing awful things have been with individuals I could easily let go of, never actually striking works that I've appreciated for over a decade and that I'm genuinely fond of. I guess I'll have to see whether I'm separating art from the artist for the first time or if this is enough to make me abandon Kenshin entirely. Guess I'll have to follow this story and see just how bad it gets.

The magna and Yami part betting was hilarious, I didnt realize they could be so bad at it.

Noelle feels like shes 100x more annoying in the anime than in the manga, her constant Im a royal is so tiresome.

Also the constant luck smiling moments is the best.
