I've been digging up more about REmake 2, hunting details and pieces of information that got lost with time (or people didn't cared to read at the time), and i found out a little bit more about the third director behind the project (Hirabayashi confirmed that were three people working on it: himself, Anpo and someone that was not revealed to us even now, one year later).

There's nothing conclusive, but it gives us a good idea of who's working with them behind the curtains:

Kazunori Kadoi was a designer in the first Resident Evil, but later he joined another team while working as a "stage planner" on Code Veronica. Talking about more recent works, he touched on Outbreak directing two specific cutscenes called "flashback" and "end of the road" that were shown on different scenarios, but he also managed to work as a character design on the same production. Later, on RE5, he became a lead designer and played a similar role on Resi 6. Apparently his last job within the franchise was somehow attached to Revelations 2, which is good to hear because he worked close with Yasuhiro Anpo on that development team, making the team synergy better knowing that almost everyone in higher positions behind REmake 2, worked together before and know each other well.

That's all speculation at this point, but master Kamiya gave us a hint to look upon and that's were it leads to.

I'm a little bit more confident about this project thinking about this. I just got back from playing Code Veronica and i'm really impressed with that game, even without knowing how much of Kadoi's influence it really has. I hope that's the case, without Kamiya helping "directly", it's always reassuring to think that someone like Kazunori is looking upon REmake 2. Maybe most of you knew already about this, but i think it's important to keep people informed about this stuff. It helps to keep the expectations in check and know what to expect in the near future, at least until we have official information from Capcom.

I saw a glimpse of what his character arch should be at the first typewriter in the game, it seems that he has some trust issues. My first impressions of Code Veronica are far positive and that surprised me a lot, so i'll reserve my judgement until i get more info and development from his part.

Well, at least he's very funny with all his "edgy" and teenage behaviour while interacting with Claire.

It's weird because i can't find any mention or material whatsoever behind Leon's first version of Mikami's RE4. He was based on John Connor (not just visually, but speaking of personality and archetype as well) and even had another voice actor, which focused on a more "childish" direction. He was basically Steve 2.0, but i can't find anything about it despite this brazilian video about the many versions of Resident Evil 4:

He said that was shown on early trailers and a beta version, using quotes from Yasuhisa Kawamura (which seems to had a pretty important position behind this version) saying that he was heavily inspired from that character.

I remember they even had to change his hair in the CVX version so it was less like Leo's hair. I guess they got threatened with a lawsuit or something lol.
wow didn't know they changed his hair color for CVX, i need to check that out =)

I'd still say it's Chris.

But what the hell is that rifle? I always thought it looked weird. Seems like they blended an assault rifle and a shotgun together.

Yeah, I always thought it was Chris, but that's really interesting that it's actually Richard.

Haha yeah this always bothered me too, but I just looked it up and it's supposed to be a customised shotgun that Richard uses in the comic.

Oh, and supposedly this is the original cover of RE1 with Chris on it before they changed it to the comic cover.

Awesome find.

That ''Chris'' looks straight out of 1985.

Considering this is Capcom. I'd say it's 100% legit.

I noticed someone thinks it's meant to look like Sylvester Stallone in Judge Dredd in this specific screenshot, just a few angle changes here and there.

Oh, and the artist of the comic cover of RE1 is meant to be Bill Sienkiewicz. Googling his work, I can definitely tell going on the style that it was him.

Are you using some sort of image host named "teknik?" The images you're posting are blocked by Malwarebytes. It was a suggested imagehost on resetera, before it became clear that the image host did not appear to be safe.

Does anybody else have those days when you are alone at night thinking Code Veronica might actually be your favourite RE game but you are too afraid to admit it?

hey Resident Evil community, Happy Thanksgiving! hope you're all doing something resident evil related for the holidays.
there's some good early black fridays, resident evil 7 vanilla 15 bucks at Target.

Speaking of Richard, i never seen him alive playing w/ Chris on psx. looking at that Re1 in game dialogue compilation video, i thought to try to find the ones i've never engaged. i finally found something that didn't make sense till now:

with Chris, i usually meet Rebecca 1st in the save room with the sword key,
Next, i meet Rebecca in the piano room:

the dialogue in question queued up at the 9min mark:

Rebecca: "It's me Chris."
(Chris waves his hand to greet her, hi)
Chris pauses then asks: "Is that you Rebecca?"
as if he just saw her for the first time.

i know the dialogue is cheesy but it sounded broken.

today, i decided to meet Richard before he dies by first getting the armor key as fast as i can. i meet Rebecca here for the first time who is with Richard alive. after i give him serum, he gives me a radio and dies. Chris asks Rebecca to come with him but she refuses and wants to grieve.

next, i enter the piano room
with the same animation:
the dialogue:
Rebecca: "It's me Chris"
(Chris waves his hand to greet her, hi)
Rebecca: "i'm done grieving...(forgot what else she says...)"
Chris never says the stupid "Is that you, Rebecca?"

i didn't see the cutscene in the VOICE ACTING HORROR - 10 MINUTE CUT, vid. so it was neat to watch dialogue that fits the scene properly. i guess "Is that you Rebecca?" was thrown in to compensate for missing the Richard serum scenario.

No, but I still love the game.

I do however have those nights where I put Resident Evil 3 above Resident Evil 2.
The game has to be played on Hard Mode though to keep it on the same experience as the original 2 games.

I'm curious about the way Capcom will handle REmake 2's box art, the original is practically timeless and already perfect, but i'm sure they'll change just like Rebirth did (which created one even better btw).

Seeing through some art from RE2, i spotted this cool idea for another version, i think it would fit well to the main theme of Resi 2 and give a good idea about it (also, gotta love Leon just hanging around, looking like a KoF character):

Far worse games in the series you could admit to being your favourite.

Also, the PAL RE2 boxart has always been one of my favourite covers, it's a classic.

Damn it I can't un-see that stupid "Ryu doing a Shoryuken" on the UK cover now, even though it's completely not there.

I despise the day I read about that on the other site.

The left side of the face is """""supposed""""" (it's not) to be Ryu facing left and doing a Shoryuken, with his arm going up on the far left, and his head being the left side of the black where the eye is.

It was one of the most asinine things I ever read, I think it was posted in that huge "Videogame facts that blow your mind" thread. And yet, despite it being stupid as hell, weeks/months/years have gone by and now I see the Shoryuken every time I see this cover. It drives me crazy.

EDIT: Shoryuken reference image (Ken though, not Ryu, not that it matters really):
