The card image says creature -- lizard, did they change it's type post release?

They've done a few cases of creature type errata before. A huge-scale "unification" that removed a lot of redundant/similar types (that they've... mostly just re-introduced or redoubled by this point), and a more minor one once Ixalan introduced Dinosaurs to correct creature types that obviously would have been Dinosaurs if they existed as a type when those creatures were printed. (Though they were pretty conservative with the latter.)

That's why I'm surprised they're printing something that looks and quacks like a Dinosaur but isn't a Dinosaur while Ixalan is still in Standard.

After the Great Creature Type Update to cut down on the number of creature types, they changed all dinosaurs to lizards (to much grumbling by the science inclined) and sometimes beasts. After Ixalan, all lizards that are actually dinosaurs were changed to dinosaurs, and all beasts became dinosaur beasts (because the sets they were in had beast tribal cards).

I could be wrong, but I thought I read they would be using M19 basics in those sets. No unique art or anything. You might be right if not, though probably no more than a few dollars as few would recognize them as rare.

I looked it up a bit more and I think I got confused. There are the guild kit basic lands that have the guild symbol treatment in the text box. These don't have the Guilds of Ravnica symbol on them.

https://www.reddit.com/r/magicTCG/c..._guildspecific_basics_from_guilds_of_ravnica/

Then there are five basics with unique art for Guilds of Ravnica, but they don't have the guild-specific treatment. You can see these in the card image gallery on the WotC site.

https://magic.wizards.com/en/articles/archive/card-image-gallery/guilds-ravnica-2018-09-14

Now I don't think these are going to be limited to the Planeswalker decks, because the planeswalker decks are going to be BG and UR, because they are for Vraska and Ral Zerak, respectively. So the Plains would be unaccounted for. That lends me to believe that these lands will be in the bundle and that the bundle will be the only way you can get the Plains. But without the special guild treatment the cards probably won't be worth that much more, even if they technically are low supply.

Whenever ~ attacks, you may tap any number of untapped creatures you control. ~ gets +1/+1 for each creature tapped this way until end of turn.

There's a part of me that both loves and hates the idea of a 1/1 trampler.

On the one hand it's kind of inherently stupid (how are you naturally a trampler if you're that small?), but on the other hand I appreciate they've got big dreams.

Was gonna say that's an extremly good target for equipment, but then I remembered Mentor. Vigilance + double strike is a pretty strong combination.

I think Conclave Cavalry has potential Standard applications if the tokens deck opts for Selesnya over Abzan. You're not sacrificing any stats for the ability.

Detour is a strictly better Explosive Vegitation, a card that was once a pilar of Standard. It's time has probably passed us by, but its a cool card

Ritual of Soot will definitely see play.

It's interesting that according to the preview article, Trostani has that last ability to combat Hostage Taker. Speaking of which, using Connive to take them isn't the best idea.

Connive // Concoct is very strong. Note that Threads of Disloyalty and Domestication saw play.

Watcher in the Mist is a strong common.

Yeah, nice. The Sultai/Sidisi player in me is really excited for more library fun.

Sorcery
Target creature gains +1/+1 and haste until the end of the turn.
Jumpstart

Seems like a nice effect to have with jumpstart.

Haven't played in a long time but is it normal to allow for zero mana cost 24 point life swing cards in the current design environment/meta? Especially with how cheap surveil seems to have been costed?
This is a bad card in that it is both unplayable shit and a huge trap to less experienced/new players who won't realize it for a long time

Disinformation Campaign is nutty, right? That's not just my imagination? At least in limited.

I think so? It gives you card advantage and lets your next Surveil give you even more card advantage. The trouble is that so many of these Dimir cards don't do anything to the board. It almost seems like it'd be really easy to make a Dimir deck that just durdles super hard and never actually does anything.

The Selesnya deck might have 30 creatures and be swinging for 60, but you're DRAWING CARDS! Who's the real winner there?
