So I assume if Tess isn't selling the salty emote next week I'm never getting it? Fuck that shit. :(

I agree, but Bungie doesn't do that. They like to tell the player the bare minimum and let them find things on their own, always been the case.
It's a real shame that the investigations don't lead to something though - same as the lost sectors. Doesn't need to be a check list of shit to do, they could be clues for exotic quests etc.

For some reason I go stupid when I see someone super.

I can take him bymysel...dead every time, not sure why false heroics I guess.
It's definitely easier to take someone out of their super in D2 though, as long as you've got some distance or get the drop on them.

You can still get the emote from Bright Engrams? That's just what she has up front for sale with Bright Dust

They suggested yesterday that the ramen emote is GONE from the loot pool after S1 ends, I just took it to mean that was true of all of the exotic emotes.

I hate and love this game. I just got done grinding my ass off for the IB ten packages and all I got was trash. Only armor I got were the chest piece and the mark. Other than that I just got a bunch of shit auto rifles. I was so pissed off and was about to quit, but I saw that I just needed a game or two for one more package for both Crucible and IB. So I did it.

The Crucible engram gave me Better Devils.

The IB engram gave me Uriel's Gift.

It took me fucking 160 games to get BD and UG. I'm so relieved. Fucking finally.

Don't have an exact link but this has been disproven by a few youtube videos that show the same damage numbers against all supers with an energy weapon of varying elements. That was the original intent that Bungie seems to have had, but seems to have been scrapped, and now all energy weapons do increased damage to supers, regardless of element. Kinetic does "more" damage to non-supers.

In the end against non-super enemies the damage isn't that different. Using what you want in general will be basically the same, but it is useful to switch to any energy weapon against enemy supers because the damage reduction makes damage differences actually make a difference.
So I just shoot them with kinetic? It seemed to me that energy broke their shield faster

Yes but S2 doesn't start until Osiris is out, December 5th

If you want the Ramen emote, you better pony up the cash for dust, or farm bright engrams and dismantle stuff for dust

In PVE you have to use matching element to explode the shield (like Firefly, except not as dogpoop as Dragonfly LUL), in PVP it makes no difference, use whatever element you want

Using a non-matching element against an enemy shield helps kill the shield quicker, but there won't be an explosion

So what does an Energy weapon do?

I basically just use it to destroy shields and the kill the shielded enemy. Then swap back to Kinetic

in PVE matching energy weapon element to enemy shield element causes an explosion that damages the shielded enemy and those around him.

in PVP energy weapons do extra damage to super enemies but you don't have to match energy weapon element to enemy super element.

Finally decided to pick this up yesterday on the GMG sale. As someone who only played through the campaign of vanilla Destiny, the amount of stuff to do here is a bit overwhelming to be honest. I have been following discussions on the old forum, here, and reddit since the game came out, and the common complaint seems to be the lack of content. But the first time the game gives me autonomy to travel around myself, the zone I go to immediately has tons of stuff going on when I land. So much stuff, in fact, that I suffer a bit from not quite knowing which direction to go first.

the game doesn't have an overwhelming amount of content tbh, but the complaints aren't really about lack of content but more so about a lack of incentives to play and about how hollow and shallow the game is overall

I don´t know if I have ever seen a legendary engram in the wild in the first year of D1. Let alone exotic..

Currently the drop rates are too high.

Impossible to be excited when you see a legendary as it is.

And Exotics should be "scream into your headset moments".

So much this... I find it hilarious when I'm in the tower and the activity feed just gets SPAMMED with exotics/legendaries obtained by other people. Complete opposite experience from D1. As much as people may have bitched about not getting certain exotics, when you did actually obtain them it was a magical experience. Now, not only are the exotics insanely boring, you're almost guaranteed to get one each time you sit down and play. It quickly gets to the point where you don't even care to go to the tower and decrypt it. You either already have whatever it's going to turn into or it's worthless anyway.

And bummed that I bought the season pass naively thinking D2 would be a sequel to the game I loved.

It's funny, as soon as the game was available to preorder, purchasing the deluxe edition with dlc included was a no-brainer. Over 1,000 hours in D1? Damn right I'm getting everything I can with D2. Now I find myself playing WW2 (which is a shit game) simply because none of my friends play D2 and I'm no longer motivated to jump on by myself. I will be back for the dlc (i refuse to call it an expansion, it's not) and I know I'll enjoy my time with it... But I also know it won't last long. I mean if the base game failed to deliver a reason to keep playing long term, a small dlc update a few months later isn't going to fix it.

I have nearly 6,000 bright dust. It's not the ramen emote I need it's the salty one, which I don't think has ever been on sale (at least not as far as I can recall, I might be wrong on that). I just wasn't aware (until yesterday) that they were being removed from the loot pool.

I'm not paying money in this game for a chance at something. I bought silver in D1 to buy things that I wanted, but up to this point Bungie have had zero additional cash from me.

My biggest problem with the game currently is I can't get the one exotic I actually want. I've turned in ~30 engrams in the past week and a half and keep getting dups instead of the Orpheus Rigs. I did finally get the Tractor Cannon last night and I didn't have it yet. :/

My bad I must have misread thanks to my bloodshot eyes from posting how bad D2 is

Ramen is a better emote anyway

While I have everything on console across three characters that I want/need I simply cannot get the Celestial Nighthawk or Wardcliff Coil to drop for my two PC characters.

Orpheus Rig? I've gotten five in the last week alone.

At times I feel I'm playing The Division as yesterday I did the Flashpoint, Call to Arms, Clan XP, and Nightfall Milestones across my two PC characters and got legendary arms every time as a reward for my Titan and legendary helmets every time as a reward for my Hunter. The Division used to have (and I think sill does) issues with giving out the same rewards over and over again during a play-session while also giving out the exact same rewards to your entire group that you would be playing with as well.

Edit: Even the clan rewards doled out the same slot type rewards for those characters.

The thing people don't get is PVP isn't what's holding loot in PVE back---PVE loot got nerfed for PVE's sake lol. What did PVP have to do with taking away elemental primaries? Nothing lol. Some of the best PVE weapons were merely good in PVP. You'd use god tier truth tacking over a Gally in PVP. On the other side stuff like Thorn and The Last Word were awkward PVE weapons that rekt in PVP.

I wish there was an option to make all enemies in PVP bright red and teammates blue. Lost count of the amount of times I just blazed right past/into an enemy.

Is there something different about Iron Banner matchmaking? I've been getting utterly and completely steamrolled these past two days (in solo queue).

(New PC player, so first IB for me)

Any deals on PC digital codes other than Greenmangaming? The price over there is cool but I want to know before taking a decision. :P

Matchmaking solo is always a bad experience. Going in a full group with communication gives you the edge in a group of randoms most of the time.

Oh I remember why I stopped playing this game.

Cause it's awful. The PvP is so awful. I've never seen or played such trash PvP before. Design decisions are just baffling. I'm so tempted to just go back to Destiny 1 and play its PvP because of how much better it is than this. I could go on and on... I thought I would jump back in for IB. Too bad it just sucks...

If it wasn't for Mass Effect Andromeda this would be the biggest disappointment (may actually be) of the year and one of the worst games I've played this whole year. Bungie...what is this shit?

I never had an issue with solo Iron Banner, but last night was rough. I guess it doesn't help that I was trying out a bunch of different weapons for the first time. It also doesn't help that the majority of my Crucible matches were played on Legion's Gulch.

Guess I'm lucky, or I don't care as much as others. I solo Ib all the time(I have no friends), did like 3 and a half hours last night think I won more than half the matches. Only had one instance where we got beat pretty soundly, other than that it' been fairly close and fun.

No. I've won every single Iron Banner match I've played but this is just frustrating even if I do win.

In Destiny 1 PvP feels good, but in this you can't walk two steps without getting dogpiled on by the 2 or 3 other guys. In D1 you had a chance of taking them on, in D2 there's not a CHANCE.

I guess you lost...lol good one man.

Yep, the PvP is bad. Cooldowns are too long and TTK is too high, leading to a teamshooting meta.
PVP is best when you've got a group of 4 and are communicating/tryharding. In every other situation, it kind of sucks.

"Exotic drop rates are too high"

"Legendary engrams drop too frequently"

Are people really asking for more stingy loot?

Exactly. It's simply not even close to the amount of fun I had with D1. I could jump right in, destroy a couple matches then get destroyed on, then pop on over to Heroic Strikes and PvE content that actually mattered. Damn...never thought I'd say I miss Destiny 1 months after Destiny 2 came out.

I really like the PVP. I wish there were more modes/player numbers but in general I like how it feels. Group fights and 1 on 1's, where I have to move smart and make tough shots to win are especially satisfying. I'm playing on PC so maybe that's why I am feeling differently than some others? I feel like I would hate low TTK in this game (never played D1 so no idea what its like there), the fact I can take a hit or two as I'm sprinting around a corner lets me play in a way I find fun

I don't understand how weapon damage works exactly.
I had an energetic weapon with more power than the kinetic one, but when shooting it seemed that the kinetic popped bigger numbers than the energetic one... why?
If I have an energetic weapon with more power than the kinetic one, isn't it better?

Group fights are fun.
1v1's are a ton of fun.

But when you're trying to play smart and pull a flank on a 1v2, and you can't kill the first person before the second person runs in front of him and takes you down, you'll start to see the frustration.
The TTK needs to be lowered about 20-25% to hit perfection IMO.

Playing on PC as well, btw.

Count me in the group that actually enjoys the Crucible. It's not perfect but I really like it. This may sound like blasphemy to some but w/e it's how I feel.

The maps are all unique and interesting, good layouts with cover and shooting lanes. The weapon balance is pretty decent for the most part, I feel like pulse rifles and hand cannon could us a slight buff though. I like the reduced cooldowns and effectiveness on abilities since it reinforces the focus on actual gun skill and the idea that your abilities are there to supplement that rather than being the primary way to get kills. Plus Supers must be used more carefully and strategically now. The classes all seem fairly well balanced, Hunter six shooter GG seems to be getting a buff so that's good. The changes to heavy ammo are great since it's the cool risk vs reward scenario. The higher TTK grant a little more room/time for counter-play and allows me to disengage from fights that I may not have a chance surviving. Plus showing the enemy teams subclasses and when the are fully charged and active is a nice accessibility change in combination with the audio cues.

That said I can't stand HCR, adding randomness into gunfights for the sake of randomness is an absolutely absurd idea. I can't understand why they reduced it's effectiveness in D1 then reintroduced it in D2. Also the lack of playlists is incredibly annoying. The cooldown on the radar should just be until you're completely zoomed back out. Lastly in-air accuracy seems like it's been reduced.

But yeah, for the most part it's a lot of fun.
