That's because it's just whale bait. You'll never need money in game as it drops loot constantly at you and its only way to spend it is buying clothes; the game still throws lots of money at you so whatever.Just booted this up for the first time after buying it last night and thought I'd have a look at the store before I begin; holy hell Ubisoft went full-fucking-tilt on the micro transactions this time around. Jesus, I'm surprised there isn't more controversy around it given what's going on elsewhere in the industry. Store is absolutely jam packed with items and currency to buy. If I'd known it was this egregious I would have thought twice about buying the game.
Ubiclub!I've seen a few folks mention completion percentages, where do you find that?

Now, you could argue that the "premium costumes" are a lot and they still cost money, well you can get them from in game lootboxes (buyable with game currency) so it's not that they're gating out content from us.
It's probably the best implementation of MTX I've seen in a game, specially coming from Ubisoft.
Ubiclub!
I mean, it already was in Unity haha. Origins is a course correction. It's a relief to hear that! I love the AC series and I'd be legit upset to see it get carved up in the service of micro transactions.

Maybe there isn't more controversy because best weapons, outfits and and montures are only available as reward from in-game activies.
They're fewer than Unity that's for sure. That game begged you for your money. One more thing to hate about that pos.Are the micro transactions that much more than previous years? Feels like they've been a thing for a while now going back a few games.
As it's a single player game and none of them are particularly crucial to progressing in the game it doesn't seem that big a deal in the grand scheme of controversies nowadays.
Time savers microtransaction are present since AC:Black Flag I think and the way it's displayed is pretty similar to AC:Syndicate. I don't remember how was the microtransaction layout for AC:Unity. Are the micro transactions that much more than previous years? Ubisoft Club. All your stats for the game are there.I've seen a few folks mention completion percentages, where do you find that?
Legendary upgradesWhen or where can I start using these carbon crystals I've been collecting?
It's unintrusive and not necessary for anything. You can go the entire game without ever looking at it or even being reminded it exists. The in-game economy is well-balanced and it never feels like it's trying to starve you into purchasing stuff on the store. If a game is going to have an online store, this is how it should be handled.Just booted this up for the first time after buying it last night and thought I'd have a look at the store before I begin; holy hell Ubisoft went full-fucking-tilt on the micro transactions this time around. feel like most of the outfits i've seen so far (just now entering Faiyum) haven't been super great. i've stuck with the Persian Prince (lol c'mon Ubi) outfit for most of the game
pretty sure i bought it in Siwa near the beginning of the game
My favourite was that until I got one for defeating all the Phylakes. Even prefer that one to the outfit that requires 50 Silica.feel like most of the outfits i've seen so far (just now entering Faiyum) haven't been super great. i've stuck with the Persian Prince (lol c'mon Ubi) outfit for most of the game
I think it's the best looking outfit with the helmet off.I'm still in the one with the metal lion (?) head mask/helmet thing I got from the Temple of Sekhmet (I think) just after I left Siwa. Looks good, makes Bayeks voice a hit muffled though.
There's an achievement tied to selling 100 of them at the same time, which is only possible in one game.Is it safe to sell useless items in the shop? And can you sell them all at ones?

If you don't have Amazon Prime you can get the one month free trial and it comes with twitch prime free as well. Allows you to unlock this outfit which I agree looks fantastic in-game.This looks pretty cool but must be the biggest bullshit way to get I've ever seen.
Get muthaphukin fucked.
With most either being colour variations or weird Destiny/Mortal Kombat looking weird shit, something that actually looks the part is locked away like this.
Yeah got it also. ThanksThere's an achievement tied to selling 100 of them at the same time, which is only possible in one game.
Yeah got it also. Thanks
Those end upgrades with Carbon Crystal are crazy tho...
Have the feeling its a push towards microtransactions to complete those.
