I phrased that wrong - the tutorial ends even if you click away from the "buy a pack" screen and just complete the quests. I haven't ever bought a pack and played a Sealed yesterday.

Don't remember how I did it. I remember just clicking around. Might have pressed ESC or something.

You only get a "open 10 packs" button I think

If you want to play other modes you need to do mundane shit

Problem occurred about 6 hours ago might be solved already, but at that time arena was non functional.

Do you think they will do prepaid cards like other online games have, like LoL, Blizzard and Steam? Because I'd rather not give them my payment info.

alright thanks. Any tips what I should include into the singleton outside the card? I feel bad for palying this but it's the easiest and quickest way to play this against people who opened 50 packs already. Don't have much removal so far and abrely any card draw.

Generally, you only want to splash for heavy impact cards like bombs and removal. Don't splash black just because you have some silly creature like Child of Night.

If you're splashing, you want 3-4 sources of mana for the color you're splashing for. That includes things like gates, lockets, and you can even count certain green mana fixers like Circuitous Route, District Guide, or Urban Utopia. If a card has two of the same color in its mana cost, you cannot "splash" for it and need to devote closer to 6 or more sources of that color if you want to play it. At that point you're moving into a more involved three color deck. Playing full three+ color decks is harder but you can do it in this set if you have enough green fixing. So Naya, Abzan, and Sultai are possible routes here.

Ugh, just started in Arena again. Being forced to buy a pack with the gold and play games with the shitty decks isn't fun in order to do literally anything else.

Just let me do sealed, Christ.

I [strike]stole[/strike] made my own version of Chronos' Izzet control for Arena. It seems like a legit deck but I keep getting mirrors so it's kinda hard to say anything profound. I need to make a sideboard so I can BO3 again.

edit: I try out a starter deck to see what happens, I get immediately matched against a high rank player with full featured Sultai control. I swear Wizards is going to kill this game with this crap.

Here's the list. It scoops hard to green stompy, but I can't figure out anything against that deck in these colors. Bounce helps but Nullhide Ferox hits the board so fast.

Went 2-2 at the midnight prerelease with Boros, super fun time! Split a booster box three ways with some work friends and got 4 shock lands plus an Assassin's Trophy.

i went 1-3 and it's my fault as some kid kept on getting back Assassin's Trophy from the graveyard with multiple Golgari Findbroker's but you can only get back a permanent and not a Instant or Sorcery. We both let the game go on and only realised after we checked in.

Also $10 bucks says Etrata, the Silencer gets banned in Commander.

Man, I didn't really like Izzet in the sealed environment, but I opened a top end madness Izzet pool in my prerelease last night.

2 guildgates, a Steam Vents, 2 Crackling Drakes (!), 2 electromancers, 2 Whelps, Piston-Fist Cyclops and a bunch of the weaker jump start cards along with Discovery and 2 Whisper Agents.

Seemed like the perfect mass of spells to spells matters creatures. I only lost to a Boros aggro deck that played mentor creatures at such speed that the games were over before I even knew what happened.

Cosmotronic Wave was the MVP of the deck. Won the game every time I cast it.

My Golgari seeded card was Izoni. Frrrrt.

Went 3-1 though with dimir splashing a bit of red, niv-mizzet is an absolute unit

Went 2:1 with Golgary splashing white for that convoke Luxodon. Undergrowth was really doing much, I almost never had enough creatures in the gy. Got the 3BB return cmc 1, 2 and 3 from your gy to the bf which was amazing.

The entry for sealed costs 2000 gems. Which depending on which batch of gems you buy can cost between $10 to $15.

The welcome bundle contains 2500 gems and 5 packs of Core 2019 for $5, but it can only be bought once.

Yeah, Stompy seems rough. Best I can think of is some bounce spells like Blink of an Eye or Unexplained Disappearance to slow them down. Maybe also Sleep, but that seems slow considering they can T2 Steel leaf and T3 Ferox...

Got the 5 bucks welcome pack. Spent 2000 gems on a sealed and won all 7 games. Pretty happy. :)

Since your build has a black splash, I think Cast Down could be a thing. It should take care of the Ferox and other fatties.

I went 4-0 with Boros last night. Had insane luck with my rares: Aurelia, the 1/1 double striker, Goblin warboss, and the dual spell that gives you an extra combat. Also splashed green for Trostani. Absolutely insane. I think that used my sealed luck for the next few years.

Yeah, That might be the answer. Just gets tricky with the mana base. Need more than 5 sources of black for that to be reliable. Maybe when we get Blood Crypt.

Out of 12 packs you got 5 great cards? You hit the jackpot.

Waking up after playing Midnight pre-release. This one was way more active than any other set since I've started with since Amonkhet. I had been debating pre-paying as they were doing guild selection based on the order of people signing up. Ended up not pre-paying so we showed up nearly 40 minutes early to get a seat and make sure we could play. Initially, as a group of 3, 2 of us made the cutoff line so we were just gonna pay for today instead and head home. Since people were gonna drop though they were able to get more seats we eventually were able to get in. It was crazy how many people were there.

Got one of the last Dimir kits and had a really good time. Didn't open any bombs but had a lot of synergy, solid base cards, and removal so it performed well. Enjoyed all the triggers I could get off one surveil. Ended up going 2-1 before dropping due to how late it was. Lost round 2 0-2 against another Dimir deck that got the UUBB Hexproof 3/3 flyer. Answers I had got promptly removed by the opponent and I just bleed out after X amount of turns in the air. Debating whether or not going to the 1800 one or not. Boros seemed to run out of steam every time I played or watched someone play. Golgari always had a presence through the game. Izzet was non-existent and had the most kits let over after picking. Didn't get to see/play a Selesnya deck but my friend did pretty well with it.

I just spent $10 on MTGO thinking it was the decent version I've seen on streams. Whoops!

2-2 today. Scraped my 2 wins on a very below-par Golgari deck, but my promo Hatchery Spider saved me a few times. Got land screwed on my last 2 games against very good Dimir players. Time to jump on Arena and do it all again!

So there's this precon deck you get on Arena called Chaos and Mayhem. Basically Brawl-Bash Ogre, Act of Treason and some stuff. But the point is that it's hilarious! Spice the deck up with stuff like Midnight Reaper (MVP!) and you can jank out sooo many games with it. My fave so far has been stealing and saccing Conclave Cavalier. And a 5/5 menace Ogre is huge.

I shall not rest until I can Severed Strands a Gigantosaur or Ghalta.

But it's ok. 5 dollars gave me so much stuff that I firmly believe this game will never value my money like this again.

Wish I could get back into this. I would only have time for MTGO but I sold my MTGO collection for 6k a couple years ago and I regret it. I know Standard is always easy to get into and I may do that soon but I miss Modern.

Standard is in the process of rotating, so now's the best time to brew some crazy new decks. Who knows where it will end up after the next Standard PT.

No one really knows since rotation happens in a week. A bunch of extremely powerful cards will be leaving, so there's a lot of ways things could go.
