Yeah. It seems like a monkeys paw kind of wish but I would definitely jump on a cheaper online gaming only option.
haha PSN is a pile of crap and hasn't improved a single bit since they started to charge for it in terms as far as I can tell. If it wasn't for cheap cards I stockpiled up on I wouldn't have PS+ as it is, there is no way I'd pay the current price let alone an increased premium price.
I don't know where do you live, but here in Spain, I can dowload games to full speed (300mbits/s)
The biggest issue I have with this is Sony turning the current Plus+ subscription benefits into the new "Gold" subscription benefits, then increasing the price of it and instead offering a "Plus+ Lite" subscription service that's cheaper than the current but offers no discounts or free games

Wow, sounds like Europe has good PSN speeds? In the US in the South, I get pitiful speeds. Download speeds always get a bit confusing in the units for me, but I get 30 MB/s or 240 mbits/s? downloading from Steam and can download any giant sized game in less than half an hour and often 5-10 minutes. However, with PSN, a similar sized download can take 1-5 hours (highly variable in speed but never never seems to hit over 100 mbits/s other than for a few seconds and then drops).
I'll resubscribe to Plus if I find a good enough discount (maybe Black Friday), but no way am I paying $60 for the current service. I was happy paying $35 or so back when it was $50 and there were often discounts to get it below $40.
Not for me. Its allready too expensive for a service that is inconsistent. What I wanna know is what replaces the PS+ games for PS3 and Vita when they end in March. I am hoping they ass PSNow but I get the feeling its not gonna be replaced with anything meaningful in value.
Sony isnt the type you described. They releases those exclusives for the good of the industry.

I do not agree with everything, but I would pay $100 a year for a new service that merges PS+ with PSNow. 50 dollars for each service seems pretty decent.

Even if they started offering a PS Plus Platinum, they'd probably make gold seem less appealing and offer you the same things as previous gold, plus one small bonus(like a free month of PS Now).
This is what I want as well. Three tiers with varying benefits would be the best solution IMO.

Why would that matter? Sega started the paying trend, and Microsoft continued it. Remember, a lot of people saw the Xbox as the Dreamcast spiritual successor.

Yeah the only time I have EVER participated with them is with free trials and very steep discounts(live for $2 for a month for instance)
If I could get PS+ and the expanded Now service in one, maybe, but substantial discounts seems unlikely

I fully disagree of everything you said, OP. I do camapign here in ERA against every online subscription for consoles.
We need less subscriptions not more. PS plus is expensive enough as it is here. If it wasn't necessary for multiplayer I wouldn't have it cause most plus games aren't worth it and the ones that are worth it I own already.

I did that for bloodborne discount, not a bad deal. The only thing that baffle me is that the list of free games is totally random, and you can't have access to previously relased games
