The saddest thing is that voters, historically, have a short-term memory, and Trump has a well-documented ability to drown out scandals with other scandals.

Trump + Republican establishment working in tandem have been incredibly effective.

I know it's not PC to say but my queer ass is still currently looking into arming himself, and I don't see any sane reason any minority still stuck in this hellhole wouldn't pursue that option for themselves. We've always been our best-case. Our hope. We've gotta protect ourselves because clearly we can't trust others to do it for us

Owning arms doesn't actually make you safer and it exacerbates different problems.

Okay so, Kavanaugh is our new scotus judge? Anyone know how he has ruled? From Collin's speech it seemed like he has been an okay judge.

It's a disgrace that he was elected to the court as a rapist, but now that it's done we need to start preparing for how he might vote on things.

I know it was a self-preservation vote given his districts, go bother someone else.
And yet you still felt the need to slam him and claim he was bought. Or would you just prefer he was replaced with a Republican since he's not a super progressive liberal in West Virginia?

I've had 1,180 posts in this forum, but I've deliberately avoided speaking the name I'm about to speak, because I know it's too controversial. But I also know that dropping this name is something that has to be done before the mid-term elections, and I've just been waiting for the right moment to do it. This seems like that moment, so here it goes:

You Bern-outs really fucked us over in 2016. You need to swallow your pride, learn from your mistakes, and get on board with the democrats from now on.

Didn't more Bernie voters support Hillary in the general election than Hillary voters supported Obama in the general election. I've been very clear that people who didn't vote are a major reason this happened. But let's be real: we wouldn't be having this conversation if Hillary ran a decent campaign instead of running one of the most condescending and downright lazy campaigns in modern history. She's not a hero or a victim. She's a trash candidate who never won a single contested political campaign in her life, was politically elevated (NY senate seat, for starters) solely due to her husband, and took victory for granted while ignoring the warnings from politicians who actually won things (Bill Clinton, Obama). And speaking of Obama, for all the people crying about Bernie fans...let us not forget she ran a far uglier, far more pathetic campaign against Obama than Bernie did against her. Yet Obama still won.

There is never any personal responsibility for her. Everything is other people's fault. Getting outworked by an obese old man is on her, period.

It's safe to assume that he'll vote straight down the party line.

So I can just reply to this with "Go fuck yourself" and that would be no worse than your question? My statement had some substance to it, whether you agree with it or not.

No it didn't, it was an assertion backed by nothing. The fact that you happen to agree with your own assertion doesn't mean you made an argument for it.

You literally vjust made a claim, that's it. You said A is true, he basically said A is not true in a rude way. That was the sum total of the exchange.

So right now red states allow abortion because Roe v Wade is on the federal level, but they risk losing it after this?

In the event Roe v Wads is overturned ( and it's not certain this will happen at all with this new Court) it would only be banned in State's that write a law explicitly outlawing it. Which would probably be a large number of Red states. Those that don't will remain legal. Roe v Wade was made to overturn/thwart laws banning it.

He tried to deny an abortion to an undocumented woman. He doesn't believe that a President can be indicted or even subpoenaed while in office. He thinks that a President can have full discretion over the firing of special counsel/prosecutors without repercussion. He has a general hostile attitude toward Roe vs Wade. He openly threatened Democratic Senators during his hearing. He spouted conspiracy theories in the same hearing.

He is a disaster.

Voting is necessary, but if you think this country gets fixed by people caring for maybe a couple of hours on one day per year, you have no clue how big a mess we're in.

It's going to take a massive coordinated effort by organizers, activists, and engaged citizens to start setting things right.

He'll:

1) get impeached

2) get threatened with impeachment and chooses to resign and not put up with or validate the deep state and democratic and media forces conspired against his presidency from day one

or

3) last the full 4 years without either of the above but choose to step down because...let's face it, he never really wanted to be president, doesn't really like it, it's already affecting his brand as much as it will, and will be too worried about losing in 2020 and deemed a failure to bother.

He will step down and make it seem he is doing it on his own terms and he can frame it as leaving as a winner.

Too bad you need 67 votes in the senate to be removed through impeachment. He's literally already running for 2020.

I think that 11 states still have anti-abortion laws in the books

He's a partisan, republican operative who said as much when he was ranting and raving in the Senate. We know exactly how he is going to vote, and it's probably going to undo progressive policies that will set this nation back for generations.

Furthermore, our party needs to be unified. Stop fucking crying about Bernie V Hillary. Learn from it and come together. Be as unified as the Republicans or keep fucking losing. The two camps can coexist.
This should be repeated a million times, the stupid inner fighting from the left needs to stop or else things will just be the same.

Futhermore, my wife and all of her family are white and none of them wanted this, please stop generalising blame on white americans.

IIRC someone looked at the data and it's about the same cause they're within the margin of error of each other w/ the voters, it's a bad claim to make based off only one poll for each cycle.

You're on the internet, Duke. The time it took you to post this question you could have instead googled his judicial history. You should, at the very least, not be forming opinions of him based off of Susan Collins.

He is partisan. He will rule in favor of republicans or what they expect of him.

Okay, we lost this round. And we got hit pretty hard. We can bitch and cry and point fingers, or we can stand up, use our voices, and fight. Fortunately, there's an event coming up November 6th that will allow us to do just that.

It's not over yet.

Literally no causative logic to support shitting on people is in this post. Accept that you're just partisan shitposting or delude yourself, but don't act like it's odd shitting on people might provoke a reaction.
I think you think I'm the original person. I replied to someone else's conversation. I never shit on anyone. Have fun living in Gilead. I'm from a sane country.

Exactly. It won't be easy, but the first step to real change is just around the corner.

Not voting democrat is extremely stupid. That's just an indirect republican vote, regardless of whatever justification you come up for it.
Choosing a candidate who was actively being investigated by the FBI and who couldn't be arsed to campaign in the Rust Belt states also turned out to be extremely stupid.

Disclaimer: I voted for Clinton as did the overwhelming majority of Sanders supporters.

Voooooooooote. Vote vote vote.

This doesn't apply to only this November or only state/federal elections. Get off your ass and vote, and volunteer, and tell others to vote, and get others to vote.

Yall have a lot of work to do and are just waking up to the importance of elections. 2016 is over -- you have bigger fish to fry now.

Even kids cartoons and dragon ball understand that you won't ever have perfect teammates so get tf over it, band together and VOTE. Unless you like the current situation.

If you're deflated, take some time to heal up, but don't stay down forever. Gotta get up and keep going. And definitely don't stream defeatism because it literally helps nothing. Just take your time and when you're ready, vote. From now on.

There's more of the good than there are of the bad. Just have to activate them all and not be lazy about it. That corny ass ad with the old people is corny, but it's on the money.
