I don't know. For all we know the map and counter is window dressing for the real mechanic that's kept hidden and we'll be blindsided for believing in them.
I feel like the way everything was presented to us half baked that it could all be fake but I don't care much about the counter since it seems like something that happens to us as opposed to us affecting it (at least surface level), at least with the map I can make a choice on what to do. I fully expect the counter to do something arbitrary first like go up even if it is a real mechanic.

Now we get to read into Fran's liking of the map tracker. It makes his life easier which seems important to him.
Usually I wouldn't talk about the mod but since this is a bastard game reading him is going to be useful imo.
I was going to say it must be important to Fireblend to make the tracker but really he changed vote to move, it probably took him a minute to do.

Just looking at this, I feel like someone is going to have some crazy ability that lets them kill or poison an entire room of people.
I wouldn't go that far, but I wouldn't be shocked if there's some scum ability where they can fuck with someone in the same room as them, or maybe a serial killer with that as a limitation.
Just to expand on this thought a bit, it might be interesting to note if people are intently moving towards more populated/vacant rooms at the end of the day.
Or maybe scum can only kill someone in the same room as one of them? This whole thing certainly adds an element of mystery the last game didn't have.

To be fair, we had a game in review where someone could set a bomb to kill a whole room (design has been abandoned I believe). Clearly if the map matters it could be anything from that all the way down to some basic ass role like roleblocker can only interact with someone in their room. Trying to guess at that won't get us anywhere.
Didn't grab the quote but Faddy , I think taking stock at what Fran does and does not care about isn't going to lead to a good road. Whether the map matters or not, he would have had to report it to us along with vote counts to keep up the illusion, or lack thereof. Forgetting about the counter is also hard to judge this early since, if real, it would have started in a default state anyway so nothing would have happened to make him think about it.
It's also Fran so what he does and doesn't remember can be arbitrary.
