That's not really going to work because then every card has the same market value and there would be no point in having a market in the first place.

I don't think so. The card pack presented to the buyer would still be randomized. The only difference between the lootbox way and this way is that the the potential buyer would be able to see the cards before spending money.

Does this mean Europeans would be less likely to spend money on card packs because they see there's junk in the pack presented to them? Yes but buying it would be the only way to refresh the presented card pack.

And there's plenty things Valve could do to entice Europeans to buy non-blind card packs like including some pointless cosmetic junk. Another option is to accept that that Europeans will be more likely to use the marketplace to get new cards. Which isn't a bad thing because in the end it's still free profit for Valve. Also they still have Americans to use gambling methods on.

Legit shocked by how Capcom has treated Mega Man 11. I along with others in the steam forums have been unable to progress past the initial loading screen and it's coming up on 10 days since launch with no patch or acknowledgement despite a dedicated technical forum on steam.

Also Disco Elysium seems like the crpg of forever.

Good luck getting any technical help from Capcom.

When the first Mega Man collection launched, I experienced many issues that made me unable to even correctly launch one of the included games.
Despite the complaints, and people contacting Capcom (and the team behind the title), nothing was done for a long time. The developers said Capcom hadn't paid for any work to be done on a patch, so they wouldn't do it. Capcom remained silent throughout the whole thing.
Eventually, a patch was released, 7 months after launch, that didn't fix many of the issues users were experiencing.

You know how I solved my problems?
I happened to buy a new PC, running a different OS, and thankfully the collection worked on my new machine. ;)

I've legitimately never been able to not even start a game before and this long without a patch or acknowledgement from a major company for a 30 dollar game is ugh.

I bought a 27" Gsync monitor yesterday! I'm loving it so far, but it makes me feel old... I have to zoom everything to read it at this resolution, and white backgrounds are blinding. AC Odyssey looks even more beautiful though.

Oh, and it came with a free copy of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which I'll never use. In order to get it, I had to send pictures of the box and barcode, serial number, invoice, and my mailing address to Asus... and they will give me the code within the next 20 days.

I started Secret of Mana and I don't really understand how Square could price it for 40€. It feels really like an amateur game done by fans, not a remake made by professionist. The game crashed like 5-6 times, luckily it saves in every screen you enter, but it's still annoying. The acting is really bad, everytime a cutscene happens you need to wait for all characters to position properly where they need to be. I got it for half the price and I still feel ripped off.

I believe it's not available in Europe at all. Since searching for it in Play Store didn't give any hits. I was able to find the store page through the link you linked to yesterday

Is it safe to download apk packages from apk sites such as apkgk.com?

Beat Tacoma yesterday, nice little game. Is Gone Home better or worse? I think it'll be my next game to beat on Steam.

Also beat Wonderful 101 and that consolidated my love for Kamiya games. Okami is the only game from him that I haven't played so I'll try Okami HD when it's on sale (I suppose the PC port is good enough?)

Never used apkgk but I use apkpure regularly which is 100% safe. They calculate signature for each uploaded file and check it against google play store to detect if apk hasn't been tampered with.

No way Valve is going to ban trading for Europe. Artifact's whole economy is build upon being able to trade and sell cards and it would undermine the whole point of being a digital TCG. Also it would drive card prices way up because there's less supply and more demand.
The 15% cut they take from every transaction is way too juicy too just to just pass on especially if you look how much money they make in CSGO and Dota2.

In my scenario, Europeans would be able to trade and sell cards which they previously bought from the market. It is just that if a European opens a lootbox (packs), then its content would be tied to her account, i.e. untradeable and unmarketable. That way:
  • there is no gambling attached to the lootboxes: if you open a pack, then you cannot sell its content anyway,
  • there is still the possibility for Europeans to buy/sell/trade the cards from packs opened by people from other countries with no legislation against gambling.
This would drive the card prices up, but is that a problem for Valve?

Another option is to accept that that Europeans will be more likely to use the marketplace to get new cards. Which isn't a bad thing because in the end it's still free profit for Valve. Also they still have Americans to use gambling methods on.

This.

Not sure where else to ask this but how would my PC be able to run Black Ops 4 and Battlefield v?

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
RAM: 16GB 3000mhz
GPU: GTX 960

I'm aware my GPU isn't the greatest but I'm in the midst of saving up for a new one.

your only limiting factor is the gpu. the rest is more than enough. worst case scenario, you'll have to turn down some settings.

What's the best way of avoiding screen tearing in some games in a 60hz display? Without V-sync obviously.

Run the game at such high settings that multiple frames are outputted onto your screen by the time your GPU outputs one frame. 15fps to be safe.

(I assume you're aware of Gsync & free sync)

Yeah I'm aware of those, but G-sync are expeeeensive here (I have an nVidia card). I think it's mostly due to the shitty port of Watch Dogs. Runs mostly fine, already turned textures to high to avoid stuttering due to poor optimization, but I notice tearing from time to time. Runs between 55 to 75 fps with everything else cranked up, with the exception of level of detail and said textures to avoid stuttering

Good gravy, the new XCOM 2 soundtrack inspired by UFO Defense is glorious.

The Tactical Legacy Pack is the real deal. Can't believe it's free.

I hear bad things about DS2 but it is up next. I have to get through this 4000+ game backlog! Also DS3 is coming out soon.
I tried the original release of DS2 and the game was badly difficult, not because that it was the game's difficulty but the the camera angles made it much harder to play. Dunno if the remaster is better

How hard is it to setup the gift bot? I got a couple of spare humble bundle games to give away but if its hard, I'll just post the codes here.

a) Decrease monitor brightness (use f.lux if you don't want to have games/fullscreen apps dimmer)
b) If you're on Windows 10. Switch Windows to Dark Mode and enable High Contrast Mode (just, modify the colors, to not have 0x000000 for the background). High Contrast works much better in Win 10 than in previous versions of Windows.

SoulCalibur 6 is a weekly deal over at Razer game store.
Buy it and you'll get a USD/EUR 15 code to use for a future purchase.

Come on Voidu, gimme dat new 25-30% discount code. Uncle Birdman-chan needs his cheap SC6 and Ace Combat.

I'm really curious on how Valve will handle the whole lootbox thing in Belgium and in the Netherlands.
If they release Artifact in those two countries they risk legal repercussions and if they don't release the game at all there could be a shitstorm coming their way.

Same for Finland I guess. Here we're looking at banning marketable/tradeable lootboxes, because if you can't win it's not illegal lottery.

Finished Yooka-Laylee the other night, and while there's no question it's a deeply flawed game (some of the objectives are just plain poorly designed, and the levels should have either been less sprawling or Playtonic should have implemented some proper navigational aids, or both), I still enjoyed the large majority of my time with it.

That said, it probably says something that I made a beeline (no pun intended) for the final boss as soon as I collected the minimum 100 pagies and didn't bother to go beyond that.

I loved it and 100% it, but I am a sucker for 3D platformers, and there is a severe shortage. It wasnt perfect but it was great for what it was.

Anyone here preordered Htiman 2 from cdkeys? Ghost mode just sold me on it and I'm wondering if they already have keys for it and if I'd be able to play Hitman Sniper Assassin right now.
