Even then your argument would be stupid cause people would know her some way or another from crossovers.
Are her crossover appearances really that large that people would resonate with her out of the large casts of those games? In Namco × Capcom and the Project X Zone games, she's only one of the characters in a really large cast. The Super Robot Taisen series isn't really large at all, so I doubt that would have any impact either. Her Xenoblade Chronicles 2 appearance was too late for the base game, and the rest of her appearances are non-playable cameos or costumes.

psudeo-nintendo character like bayonetta, geno or kosmos
So we're counting KOS-MOS as a pseudo-Nintendo character after one appearance in a first-party game? okay... I do agree with the rest of your post though, Tekken is definitely notable enough to stand out from Street Fighter and find it's own place in Smash.

"Thanks for helping us make the game but Nintendo fans don't really care about your IPs so no more characters ok"

KOS-MOS literally only currently relevant cause Monolith locked her behind ridiculous levels of Gacha rng
I'd say the fact that she's a fan favorite character who received a very notable design upgrade and was allowed to co-star in a Nintendo first party title is the main reason she's relevant. Her announcement was one of the things that created the biggest buzz for the game on social media. People really love the character and didn't expect her to show up in another non-spinoff game, let alone a Nintendo one.

If KOS-MOS gets in, it'll be due to being an honorary Nintendo character ala Bayonetta. I am kind of surprised at how many potential reps Namco has without a clear standout.

Who's the most likely of Namco's Soul series? Mitsurugi? Siegfried? Cervantes? Sophitia? Taki?

Considering that KOS-MOS is getting a Xenoblade branded scale figure, I think she fits the role of honorary Nintendo character.

Cornfields
heihachi and ryu represent two different genres of fighters but it's debatable whether or not that distinguishing factor matters all that much when smash is firmly a 2d game
i think he carries more mascot power and distinguishing features than lloyd, which is more important. tekken is an internationally renowned series and tekken 3 was one of the defining games of the 5th generation, but it's not really a nintendo game. lloyd represents tales of symphonia, which is beloved but not necessarily smash-material popular nor is he a psudeo-nintendo character like bayonetta, geno or kosmos

heihachi is also way more unique among the roster- there's only one other traditional fighter, ryu, and heihachi is way more brutal. he also has a built in wavedash! the current smash roster already has a lot of nimble bishounen swordfighters, so lloyd wouldn't stick out very much.
How is KOS-MOS a pseudo-Nintendo character?

Appearing as a character in a Nintendo game.

Honestly, I think she's the most likely Namco rep.
That doesn't make her a psuedo nintendo character. Bayonetta had her second game wii u exclusive and 3 is too, the series is nintendo now. Geno is basically straight up a mario character, but just owned by se. Kosmos is a character that cameod in a nintendo game.

Hey, if Bayonetta can have huge disembodied arms and legs appear out of thin air, why would if be trouble for huge robot arms? just add some sci-fi effects or something, maybe they materialize and then disappear in a cyber-style effect, and you're done!
Okay, so in line with this, how would everyone feel if Michael Anderson was the Isabelle to Bayonetta?

Who's the most likely of Namco's Soul series? Mitsurugi? Siegfried? Cervantes? Sophitia? Taki?
Siegfried almost definitely. He's basically the main character of the series whether as a hero or villain. Mitsurugi's presented like the Ryu on the character select screen and some early game materials but he's a useless fuck outside of gameplay. Plus, they don't need to hire a new voice actor in Japan if they go with Siegfried!

I personally consider honorary Nintendo characters to have starred in Nintendo-published games, like Banjo-Kazooie and Bayonetta. KOS-MOS doesn't apply. She's just one of several dozen Blades in Xenoblade 2.

Yep, this. On a related note, I would even put Banjo a step above Bayonetta as an ex-Nintendo character, because he was outright owned by Nintendo at one point.

Whew just preordered another special edition along with RDR2 special edition. Was hoping it would pop up again since I bought the $150 in BB GCs deal and got a $15 promo code. Used that along with the GC. And cancelled my original order.

I mean, she's starring in a Nintendo-published game.

If you want to be technical, you can call it a cameo, but at that point it's a semantics argument as far as I'm concerned, especially with how close of a relationship Nintendo and Bandai Namco seem to have. The character is most closely associated with Monolithsoft, regularly shows up in Monolithsoft developed titles, and the company is owned by Nintendo.
