The space premise sounds intriguing so far. Just wish we had SWORD. Or at last Abigail Brand...
I know it's never gonna happen but I gotta say NO moment in Infinity War would get me to cheer as much as Quake participating in the action, even for a small scene.
The lack of Fitz in promos is making me uneasy. I just want Fitzsimmons ;_; I just want those beautiful scientists to be together and be happy for once.

I have a feeling we're not in space... or maybe we are. Couldn't those agents have easily placed the team in some kind of simulation. It's a weird vibe
with Virgil and him describing them as history. And I guess that masked guy wasn't Deke after all.
This whole start is damn intriguing!
What was this
white cube? It reminded me of that black object made of dark matter from last season.
They've been displaced in both space and time apparently. I see two possibilities:
- It's time travel, Doctor Who-style. They're in some place in the future, they'll come back once they're done.
- They're keeping true to the relativity theory: to go that far away they had to go fast, so while it apparently took them only seconds, the immobile universe grew older for at least a few years. They are history to themselves. Poor Fitz, his girl is stuck in the future.
The first monolith was working like it was folding space, allowing to cover long distances without having time to pass for the external observer. This new one works differently? Do we have instances of time travel in the MCU, that don't involve an infinity stone?
Oh, and to anyone hoping for a connection to Infinity War because space, the time displacement, if confirmed, crushes all our hopes :(

I very much doubt they're going to be in space for all 22 episodes. We have to find out what happened on Earth after they left, after all. Talbot is in a coma, we don't know what's going on at the S.H.I.E.L.D. base, etc. Assuming they're doing three story pods again, they could be back on Earth within 10 episodes. It will certainly tie into Infinity War somehow. That's a big one.
I could see them getting back to Earth and having it be months after they left, which would allow the characters to be surprised by some really big changes that they'll need to deal with. I could even see that being the big cliffhanger for the first pod.
I mean, when they get back to Earth only to see that...
3D Printed Ward from the Framework is now the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The guy mentioned that "Fitz didn't get to make the trip but he is thinking of you" implies to me that there is some time displacement, because he knows what Fitz is feeling. Like Virgil has studied them beforehand. Possibly a self-fulfilling thing. Virgil has read about the SHIELD team mysteriously disappearing in a restaurant many years ago, but always believed they would come back, studied the members of the team etc. And then when he sees Coulson he believes his prophecy has come true.
