This thread is for the planning stages of our next meetup! Once we have everything figured out, then we can rename this thread or start a new one with all the details.

For 2017, around five to six of us met in SF's http://coinopsf.comand then moved through the city from bar to bar.

This year, we can do something different and get food or something else!

Depending on where we go and where you're located, you can use BART/CalTrain to get to the location. You may also be able to hitch a carpool.

Late Oct seems like the time that most people can make it to.

I don't expect a huge crowd, but 5 people like last time should be fine. :P

Just an update. I think it's time that we resolve the details.

The meet-up will be on October 20th, since the 13th may be short notice. I think last time we meet around 2-3pm, so that's what we'll be aiming for this time, too.

Next, we have to pick a venue!

Seems like most people will be able to make it to SF, South or East bay.

If we go to SF, we can try to go to the Emporium, since we didn't get to do that last time. I remember hearing about Black Bark BBQ, which sounded good. It would also be a 20 minute walking distance between the two.

In the south bay we can probably go to either DT Mountain View, Willow Glen, etc. It'll be a small location of bars/restaurants to go to.

SF is easier for me, so I'm going to vote there. But, I'm down with whatever people want. I have a car, so I'll defer to people who don't have reliable transportation.

Oh nice, I hadn't even known there was a local group meeting. If this was a Friday night after work drinks thing I'd totally be down, but I commute to the city from Petaluma five days a week and can't stomach the though of doing it on a weekend. I'll sub and maybe we can meet up another time!

Although that's pretty far, there's practically no traffic on the weekend (except maybe SF...), but don't be scared to come down! This is only once a year, after all.

Emporium encourages our guests to BYOF. There are many awesome restaurants nearby or you can have anything you want delivered! For planned group bookings we are happy to help coordinate catering or food from one our restaurant or caterer partners.

I'm without a car for a month bros :( my lock cylinder went to shit and I've got to wait 3-4weeks for it to get here. Maybe I'll take Amtrak again.

Was there no way of moving this to the main OT? It would've garnered more attention if it was on there.

I did put it in the OT. I started the conversation rolling about a month or two ago. :P

If you can uber/lyft/caltrain to Sunnyvale, maybe I can drive the rest of the way. That reminds me that I'll need to charge my car on Friday night.

I'm planning to drive to Daly City and then take BART/bus to the Emporium.
