Ok that's actually amazing.

The witch outfit is really good. Almost makes it tempting enough to get, but don't these amiibo only come in the three-pack? I'm not really interested in the other clothing sets.

Being able to save three more gear loadouts for quick access, though...hmm...
If you really just want one they do sell them individually in Japan which you can import from places like Amazon Japan or AmiAmi.

After shipping and possible taxes though it may work out better just to stick with the triple pack released in your local area lol

i'd be tempted to order from overseas but i'm sure they're gonna def be hard to find so i'll just wait for the domestic release.

Splat zones is probably the only good mode for that map

I played rainmaker on it last weekend and it's just so bad because nobody knows a decent path to take it lol

Hey everyone! I picked this game up a couple of weeks ago and am having a blast. I have a lot of fond memories of the first game and am having fun climbing the ranks in this game. I'm a bit concerned with how perpetually poor I am having to balance clothing options with weapons, though.

That said, I got the Ranged Blaster the moment I unlocked it. That thing was my go-to weapon for ranked modes and it doesn't seem to have lost its efficacy at all. I'm also using the Octobrush to great effect in ranked, almost always getting the most amount of splats in my team (sometimes going above 20).

I'm also grinding out single-player to unlock the Decos for the standard weapons because I'm a completionist. About halfway done now. I haven't gotten it yet, but heard that the Octo Expansion has like... 80 levels or something crazy like that? Please tell me I won't have to replay those 80 levels 9 times each like I'm doing right now for single-player lol.

I had already pre-ordered the Octoling amiibos under the presumption that the costumes would be the story mode costumes.

Well, I'm more happy with what I'm getting now.

No, you'll be fine. Most of the levels give you your pick of 3 different pre-determined kits to choose from, but outside of differing amounts of credits, there's no difference to the game which you pick, and no extra unlocks for beating every stage with each loadout.

That said, the expansion is a fair bit more challenging than the hero mode's Octo Canyon, especially if you aim to clear every station. As long as you're into the game's mechanics and don't mind a challenge, it's absolutely worth it.

So probably old info but I didn't know you could redeem game carts for coins. I thought it was only for eShop purchases, but I noticed it with Mega Man 11 on the Switch menu and did that with all the Switch games I could. Got enough coins to buy 3 months online for it, so back in I guess. Not crazy about saving my credit card info for anything though...

It is a lonely, lonely feeling when people don't Booyah back. I understand now.

There, I spent most of today grinding out the rest of Octo Canyon to 100% it. I think I'll leave the Octo Expansion for after the Splatfest because I'm feeling a bit burnt out lol.

Nice to know the quality of players hasn't changed since I've been out.

Not a single person on my teams can win a 1on1. Ever. It's always a trade. Always always always. I'm having to take out snipers with the SPLOOSH!! C'mon you guys!

Forgot that next week was the special splatfest. Eh, I'll give it a shot and see how those changes work. Going Trick because I like orange ink

And Pearl looks good in a black dress

WHO SAID THAT!? SHOW YOURSELF!

Are you supposed to go somewhere in-game to collect the Nintendo Online and Splatoween items?

I've redeemed my Nintendo Online code and my game did do an update on the Switch, but I don't see any new stuff in my inventory.
I also launched the game via the Splatoween link in the news article, but again, no new items.

Nintendo Online gear comes through e-mail, it's a redeemable code.

Splatoween stuff you get by launching the game through the news article... are you subscribed to the correct Splatoon channel? Each region has one, you need to launch through the news from the same region as your game.

And they'll show up as a box in the plaza next to where you spawn.

Yeah I've got and redeemed the code, and launched Splatoon 2 through my regional news.

I thought stuff was supposed to go straight to my inventory, I didn't realise there was a box you had to open in the plaza.

If I could add one stat for Splatoon 2 to track, it'd be times people super jumped to your location and lived for the next, I dunno, 5 seconds.

Because I feel like I've pulled off overtime wins acting as spawn point for overly suicidal teammates, but it's a hard thing to judge in the heat of the moment. On the other hand, as long as that stat remains invisible, nothing can shatter my illusion that I'm one of those athletes who seem utterly unremarkable in every way until analysis shows they excel in this one particular area that makes the whole rest of the team gel.

I've been doing a good job at not getting myself splatted the moment I land from a super-jump. It took a while but I think I can reliably read the situation of the map to determine if that's a good idea or not.

Oh, how I miss Splatoon 1's Stealth Jump, though. It's so useless now since it basically only protects you against chargers. The ability where you can roll the moment you land has x1000000 more utility.

In totally unrelated news, I finally got my first "perfect" piece of equipment, which has Ink Saver (Sub) as the primary ability and 3 Ink Saver (Main) as the secondary one! This is going to be sooooo useful for literally everything.

Skipper Pavilion is one of the shittiest stages I've seen in anything. The entire stage is one long chokepoint. If you try to go down the middle to flank so you're not just dropping into instant murder death, the objective is actively moving away from you and there is so much terrain to bypass to get to anything.

If you're on the offensive, the stage is great because you have 1001 different ways to pressure and approach, but if you're defending get fucked. Get a fist shoved up your ass up to the elbow fucked. What a shit stage.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I was playing one of the most stressful Salmon Run sessions and I didn't see this! Not tonight probably as I need to get something to eat and then do my mail in ballot stuff.

Here's my code if you want to add me though.

The way Skipper Pavillion plays reminds me of Saltspray Rig. Strange because I'm thinking there's a reason why they haven't brought that one over to 2.

In Saltspray Rig, if you controlled the center, you won. No point of painting anything else. Plus: "The team on the left has more viable right-side peeking points. (inklings are right-handed, so they can peek around a wall and be mostly protected while left-peeking fully exposes them leaving them open for attack). Also, the team on the left is able to use the 2 moving platforms faster to go up at the start of a match."

That's probably the reason we never got more stages without rotational symmetry until Skipper Pavilion (and that one Shifty Station).

The next couple patches are supposed to introduce the hammer special as well as alternate kits for the Ballpoint, Nautilus, Explosher and Blob Lobber. Safe to say there might be some more 3rd weapon kits as well that utilize the some of the newer stuff.

Is it just me or has there been a huge uptick in "squidbagging" lately? Damn near every match has at least two people on either team doing that shit.

Alright I can see getting excited from the second one lol

It wasn't about excitement! It was about revenge!

Angel and Umadbro both did the ink taunting when they killed me/teammates so I was just giving them a taste of their own medicine. The second one was extra sweet though since that was a solid win. It was just icing on the revenge cake.

They are so hard to deal with for the dumbest reasons. I really truly hate everything about the dualie class of weapons.

Doing the lamest strat on Tower Control but I'm sick of losing it. Picking a stingray kit and overstuffing with Special Saver so when I get killed I can get a new stingray almost instantly and blast anyone pushing the tower after my death. It's working but evidently the game doesn't think I'm contributing very much because even though I went 9-1 in my X rank calculating, I only got 2290. But I can't play front line or even midline weapons anymore because as soon as there's a dualie I can only hope for a trade because they just use so little ink to do anything and the latency helps them out so goddamn much.

Edit: Wow, really funny glitch on a stream I'm watching. Someone used a booyah bomb and dc'd while charging it, so the buzzing of the bomb stayed there the entire game and the ball was just there in the sky. It's like there was a hairdryer by the tower all game.

My go-to weapons are the Range Blaster and the Octobrush (now using the Herobrush Replica!), so I laugh in the face of dodge-rolling dualie users because I don't need to be dead-on with my aim ever.

...Facing other Octobrush users is a pain, though. Blasters suck at dealing with those and the mirror is a crapshoot. I also lose hard to good charger users.

lol after how many hours in Splatoon 2 did I discover you can add slots to all gear?

I had over 50 Sea Snails and just used up a good 30 of them adding slots to some of my favorite looking gear.
