This was played on a custom version of MAME 0.199 that was hacked to allow San Francisco Rush and San Francisco Rush The Rock to run above 30fps. The main CPU (r5000) was also overclocked (from 200mhz to 600mhz in this video) to help increase frame rates.

So this would have the best of both worlds, the 60fps framerate that the arcade versions didn't have (they were 30fps) and properly emulated physics, control and sound, which the Midway Arcade Treasures 3 compilation versions lacked.

Ah man that's super neat, the slowly rising number of 60fps hacks for older 3D titles is such a neat little development :D

I want the arcade version of Rush 2049. While I love the Dreamcast version, it doesn't have the 2049 version of The Rock / Alcatraz track.

And overall, the Dreamcast ver. of 2049 is not a polygon for polygon port in terms of detail.

Bumping this thread, because I actually tried this 60fps MAME hack myself today. It works great.

Regardless of the preference of some to play this game how it was in arcadesat 30fps, or hacked 60fps, either way, being able to play it emulated decently is far better than how this game was on PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, PC in Midway Arcade Treasures 3, and even the native PC port that originally only worked on a certain 3Dfx / Quantum 3D card.

The physics/handling, the music, etc was never properly done in the console or PC versions of MAT3, and the native PC port was good, but slightly downgraded from the arcade with missing effects.
