Beyond Good and Evil HD on PS3 really needed an invert Y camera option. The game looked great, but was unplayable to me without it. Waste of money.

May I suggest this? Some of the driving was lovely, no?

The Batmobile was just so heavily integrated into the game with the Riddler stuff, story progression, and boss fights so no, not really.

Yes, if it was just an optional means of transport the Batmobile wouldn't be so bad. Unfortunately, that was not the case and the game could have been much improved without it.

The pre-demo for the Kickstarter is still the best version of the game....

Breath of the Wild

I'll give you two.
  • Trash the durability mechanic
  • Add interesting locations to explore instead of 140 shitty shrines and 5000 acres of nothing.

MGSV. Remove the base building crap and add more cut scenes.

I would shorten this to "finish the game." Make base building meaningful and interesting and don't just leave the story completely hanging and buried in audio cassette recordings. In short make the presentation match the quality and polish of the gameplay.

Non lethal take down options for all enemies in most all AAA video games (Wolfenstein and Mafia 3 can sit in the exception corner right now). I just like not killing things for the most part so adding in a change like this would actually get me to engage with games more often. I'm also lowkey hoping this would slowly pave a way to more non violent AAA video games.

Remove FFVIII's Junctions system to something like easier to grasp.
They do a terrible job of explaining it in game, but the junction system is super easy.

Want to increase your strength? Link a fire spell with your STR stat.

Want to increase your health? Link a cure spell to your HP stat.

You can increase the stat boost by having more of that spell in your inventory

That's literally it.

Watch Dogs 2, go back to the tone of the first game, I hated the cringey teenage hacker tone but loved the more action flick like tone from the first game.

My main issue going back to old RPG's is how annoying I find random encounters now. I don't know how I put up with it then, but I suppose newer games moving away from them has lowered my tolerance for them. I wanna play the 2d Final Fantasy games but end up getting frustrated really quickly.

The ending of LiS being more than a simple binary one. Loved the game up until I reached it. Now I have apathy for the series sadly

Faster loading times or instant respawning on Dark Souls / Bloodborne. The difficulty is fine with me, but the gameplay being interrupted by loading areas when dying really ruins it for me.

Removing anime from all games with anime. (That's what 95% of Era would want right?)

non-joke answer would probably be adding another mechanic to ARMS. Games OK, but it feels like it's just constant dodging and waiting for the right hit every single match. I get people are a lot better than others, but it's just you're better at reading your opponent at dodging and hitting.

Edit: I forgot about grabbing and blocking, but there's little to that as well IMO.

I only play during a Party Crash, otherwise I have no desire to play it at all. Hoping for ARMS 2 to step it up a bit.

I agree WD2 could be a bit cringey but I found the first game's tone to be so so boring, personally. There has to be a middle ground that I hope they nail in the third game.

Fire Emblem: Disable enemy reinforcements. Having a wave of enemies spawn right behind you feels bad every time in a game with random crit-deaths and permadeath. It just promotes people restarting their mission, removing surprise out of the reinforcements and render permadeath pointless. On top of that, it just feels cheap for a game about deliberate strategical choices. Imagine chess having reinforcements? It'd suck.

Zelda BOTW : remove breakable equipment.

I don't think it needs to be removed, but it would definitely be a more fun game if the durability of everything was increased a lot. I'd say increase everything to about 300% of its current durability and you still have the fear that weapons will break but it's not so extreme that you're hesitant to use them.

Reinforcements are part of the challenge and removing it would make the game easier.

Sounds like you need to get good or lower the difficulty if that's the only thing holding you back from enjoying the game.

Tomb Raider: let me play as a man.

Basically this in reverse. I don't mind playing a woman in first-person games though (Metroid Prime, Mirror's Edge, Portal), or 2D Metroid for that matter since Samus looks gender-neutral in the suit.

No, I'd remove itnentirely since it doesn't add any fun, only stress and worry. If it had to stay, I'd say multiply the durability by ten (so that's 1000%) and keep the broken weapons in inventory so you can fix them later if you want.

If you actually had to hunt for different Digimon in Cyber Sleuth, instead of any Digimon being able to turn into any other Digimon.

Mass Effect 3: Neutral dialogue choices and 50% less autodialogue.

An extended conversation with Starkid where it addresses the discrepancy between his take on organics and synthetics and our experience with EDI and the Quarians. All it would've took was a few dialogue options but it was not even lampshaded or handwaved it just went completely ignored.

There's actually a video of a fan asking BioWare at a panel about it and for once they couldn't give a PR response. Just dead awkward silence at a loss for words.

Throw away all the Strategy RPG nonsense and change it into a beat 'em up or a fighting game.

Catchy and more upbeat music in Hyper Light Drifter. Been playing it recently and it's my only gripe.
Man, would not have expected that one. The tunes could definitely stand to be more catchy, but I always felt their somber tone matched the colorful yet depressing environments well. HLD gives me some major SotC vibes in terms of its atmosphere and the music is a big part of that (despite much of SotC being without music lol)

Skyward Sword too but an actual overworld.
Oof now thinking I should have mentioned this one in the OP. Although I guess I do already love the game, a true overworld would just make it god-tier. Was so excited to explore the sky until I realized there was barely anything in it

Have the option of being able to turn off the time countdown on Majora's Mask, even if it narratively doesn't make sense.

The whole game is built around it, not just the narrative. It would render the game unplayable.

Mine would be FFXV and the change would be getting ride of the train and having the second area of the world be free roam as well. I was more interested in that area the whole game, and it really hurt knowing I didn't get to explore it any.

Edit: I was thinking of this yesterday, but let me create a character in most fighting games. Soul Caliber is one of my favorite fighting games to play just because I can create whoever I want. I don't care for it's story or characters, but I just enjoy making my own and playing online with them. I wanna create my own Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat characters and just use the fighting style of someone in the game.

Bloodborne: make the combat twice as fast (at least). Not sure if it would be enough, but that was my main problem with the game.
