each fucking door i open in a house has a dude sitting in a corner

holy shit
Start practicing opening a door, and tossing in a nade/flashbang/stun, etc.
I feel like engineer is the only must have out of all of them.
Haven't used engineer much, maybe I'll start. Most of the perk 2 suck - maybe cold blooded on a class or 2, scavenger seems decent but I feel like you don't live long enough to reap the benefits of ammo, flak jacket is pointless imo since nades are non-existent, tac mask didn't seem that good - you still get flashed decently by the 9-bang. Perk 3 I feel like the sound is off so I don't know if Dead Silence is worth using or not, Ghost you have to be moving for like 3 seconds before it makes you invisible - I've been using it but people still know where I am a lot of the time due to shooting/a enemy teammate spotting me/or not moving for a couple of seconds.

That was a thing in BO3 too, you could jump, land your jump and time your button press perfectly and boost slide, you could also jump, land on a surface press the slide button and you would get a further boost.
Difference being BO3 required a maneuver beforehand to pull it off, and it consumed some of your fuel to do.
Its the top tier streak. It should be destroying everyone.
Right out of spawn? Fuck no. BO4's maps are way too open in the spawns to not have spawn protection for at least several seconds. With a streak like this, you're guaranteed to be spawn trapped indefinitely until it's over if your team can't manage to spread out before they all die.

It's the same problem Hellstorm missiles have. With no spawn protection, those things are just devastating, especially in modes like Control and Domination, where the enemy spawn is fixed and can be easily bombarded with missiles.
I feel like engineer is the only must have out of all of them.
I don't have a single class that doesn't have Engineer. It's too powerful not to use. You get so much valuable information from it that I can't fathom not having it. My friends always ask me where enemy deployables are because they know I use it, and at this point I'm just stunned they haven't started using it, too.

I'm finding it interesting how the reviews made after the game's launch currently have a higher average. Everyone who was invited to the review event played the game on PS4, so the game sit at 87 for bit, now it's at 86. PC however is at 88, while Xbox One currently at 92 - all these reviews clearly based on the actual matchmaking experience in the wild. A lot of people expected the ratings to drastically go down, but alas, they increased.

I honestly don't understand how that streak is fun for anyone involved. Then again, that's most "haha I got a kill streak so now I can just push a button and randomly make people die how fun".

It's always bothered me about CoD MP. Someone killed me, fair play. Then I take 2 steps outside the spawn and I die again because they hit 4 on their keyboard. Woo. Just keep me dead for longer or something instead.

It's not enjoyable as a solo player. It's the first COD I have ever felt that way

I disagree completely.

I think the multiplayer in this game is inherently more tactical than it's been before, and therefore rewards better play. I've seen more situations where teams of randoms without headsets are moving in groups, and responding to situations instead of just storming out of cover to get shot, over the course of this weekend than in years of previous CoD games.

I'm not very good at the game at all, so my own performance is pretty bad, but I think there's a notable difference in the way many (not all, obvs) are approaching the multi this year.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask those who have upgraded to Windows 10 version 1809 if they can open the game bar on BO4?

Personally, it doesn't work. I have small light effects but the bar does not appear.

I would like to use it to record games.

Took me about 30 minutes to find a TDM game on MP (PC) Just now.

That kinda worries me

Was Engineer a tier 1 perk? Cause Scavenger has been absolutely necessary for me, particularly with SMGs. I tend to shoot around a lot lol.

I disagree completely.

Oh yeah, seeing randoms move in groups a lot more than ever before too, and it's almost always been beneficial for the team. I always try to move around the map with at least one teammate nearby.

This has been my experience as well. Most enjoyable COD experience as a solo player in a long time for me.

Agreed, even in TDM there is incentive to stick with your buddies (unless they go rushing into choke points getting sniped left and right of course), as a good chunk of the abilities directly help the team. See through walls, push out campers with Firebreak while others can maul down the running chicken, the 9-bang you can throw with your teammates immediately shooting once the enemies can't see shit, the shield that can be used as a diversion or even as a multi-person cover, give your teammates and yourself a spawning point near the action, give your buddies extra ammo... there's less instant gratification abilities and much more made to improve the teamwork. I don't necessarily run with others but I try to stay relatively close to their action to be able to use my abilities in the best possible way.

What you're saying is kinda confirming his point tbh. It's harder to carry by yourself in BO4, and when you're playing with brainless pickups, it's really frustrating. I know it's still the beginning, but you don't have to be a genius to understand how Control works.

But the most frustrating thing for me and the guy i play with, it's that we always have the ranks 1-6 in our team, no matter what, since we're winning a lot (I'm prestige 1, he's prestige 3). It's kinda bad when you're against 2 groups of Prestige 1.

So tried Zombies last night. Played a bit of IX and the one on the Titanic. Pretty fun, but as usual I get a bit bored by about round 20, good for a go now and again though.

Blackout is pretty neat so far. It might just be the best Battle Royal game by default. And not because it floored me, but because it has Fortnite competency and basic polish without the Fortnite core-gameplay and Dreamworks look. It loads fast, and runs well. I'm not sure I like the weapons as much as PUBG, and I miss lean along with other intricacies, but it obviously feels less like a ratty indy project, and certainly runs better than any potential PS4 version of PUBG.

Zombies - barely touched it, but seems very fun.

Finished the 'easy'/default specialist missions - not fun, glad they are over. I guess I learned to mess with the abilities. Basically one big tutorial with very grating dialogue, mixed in with some random meaningless CGI sequences. Do they get better as they go on?

As for the normal multiplayer, it's not grabbing me. I'm not sure I like a lot of these maps, there are definitely some very forgettable bland maps mixed in there, I need more time on them though.

Maybe I'm being harsh. I can't help but dislike the overall aesthetic/tone of this game. I'm not even talking about the dialogue, I can ignore that. But the last CODs I played immersed me in "modern warfare" (learning what an AC130 or a Pave Low was, for example) or good old World War 2, bayonetting people, popping helmets off, tanks. Just what is the setting here? I have no idea. It feels like GI Joe comic book alternate present. Wasn't the original Black Ops in the 70's or something? This one I guess is the near future, but the world has completely replaced all commonly used weapons? The made up weapons that just don't have the allure, personality or variety of real guns.

Killstreaks/abilities that don't make as much sense as killstreaks/abilities in previous COD games - one big fat dog running at enemies that absorbs 200 bullets before dying vs a wave of attack dogs that could be shot or could catch you out? The weird radioactive canister guy who deals enough radiation to melt opponents but not himself? Shooting people in the head with an 'electricity' sniper gun and having him flail about on the ground (vs just shooting him with a high caliber bullet in the head in the first place?). The shield with arbitrary microwave on the front of it? The hand cannon from destiny? Don't get me wrong, some of the ideas are neat, but eh, overall I'm confused, it's too silly.

I think getting rid of assists helps with that as well; there's much more incentive to work with others to get kills than to compete with them. It also helps that the movement system is the best it's been in years. The only thing I could ask for is a sliding mechanic ala PUBG, but otherwise moving across the map has never felt more fluid.

Also as far as I can tell everyone is using the Specialist Equipment; is there any reason to use regular equipment?

It's not enjoyable as a solo player. It's the first COD I have ever felt that way.

I play just fine. I get kills, top of the leaderboard, but the team balancing is so that a solo player like myself is left out in the cold. I won a total of 13 games out of 40+. That simply isn't fun to me.

Every COD game before this I am positive in the W/L department. Every single one. And I played solo most of the time in them. This one is completely different. And it's a shame. Because yes, it is one of the best COD games in a while.

If you don't play solo.
As a solo player myself i have few tips, honestly when you see your team being dominated by a large margin 10-15+ points just leave, the spawns break and flip constantly because of your team wiping out all the time, and in the end it's not worth your stress.

Most of my games are close and i do have to tryhard but COD have been like this for years. sticking with your team is more important now, use them as your radar to check dangerous places and etc. look at your map often because like i said the spawns are terrible right now and play slower.

Most important thing is do not ever play ANGRY, it snowballs so hard in this game and you become sloppy and more frustrated by every passing moment.

Played a bit of the normal multiplayer and realised why i have not played CoD online since Blops 2.

Too much options for customisation. I just want to pick a gun with attachments and my grenades and play.

Also, i just dont like the smaller maps. Ive always been a battlefield fan and much prefer that. Blackout is ok but has many, many serious issues.

Safe to say i will be selling/trading this for the new Battlefield as only one shooter can take up my time (apart from pubg)

I had the game keep resetting some of my settings and noticed the game bar stopped working again. Went into the game's settings and the Windows button was disabled again, changed that to default and the game bar started working again.

So is it just me or is Control easily the best mode COD has ever had? The only issue is the VAST amount of people that quit abruptly.

It's fast paced, objective oriented, and tactical all in one. I really love it.

All these problems I keep having on PC (stutter and freezing) really put me off though, Blackout is basically unplayable for me with 8gb of RAM. Anyone else in the same boat?

Supercrunch audio with headsets, really do help

I usually play with others with mic tho, so talking and sound whoring does not mix well together

I wish I could make chat audio come out from TV, and the game sound from headset lol

It's good only if you're playing with a coordinated team with mics.

Pub games with randos its just immensely frustrating.

Bigger update coming later this week apparently looking at their reddit page.

Wonder that the changes will be! Defo will be spawn protection or adjustment I would think and some nerfs

Are we just back to calling cards and weapon paint jobs/ camo skins for character customization again? Did they get rid of specialist skins as challenge rewards / currency rewards? I know there are skins for the season pass... I feel like BO3 did them pretty well. Did they say anything about including them in the game in the future...?

I really like how the dynamic of the mode changes in just two minutes. You can go from objective capturing to eliminating players to limited res pawn so quickly. Game can get really tense and some mistakes you make in the beginning can haunt in in the end. And all in a couple of minutes!

It's an awesome mode

Honestly don't know if I can recommend the ABR (tactical rifle), as it is so inconsistent in almost every gun fight.
Yeah it's a really weird gun, they also seemingly nerfed it from the beta since it was frequently a one burst kill there and now it's frequently 2-3. Doesn't seem like any of the attachments will help make it more consistent either.

Its in the fracking factory area :P

I'll be a bit more generous and say theres actually two buildings where this seems to be the case. The second one isn't 100% but the first area in there I mentioned is 100%.

West coast but I'm always on if you want to squad up.

Sweet. Hoping off for the night but I'll be on whenever most days until I get bored with it.

Cool. I'll PM you my gamertag. I play all the time when I'm not working. Just an FYI- Right now I'm only playing Blackout and avoiding the MP in this game like the plague until the competitive season. :)
